William of the Dutch works suprisingly well, if you won't need him for the Netherlands.

He will be as Louis for Medieval? What do you mean?
That he will wear Louis like close in the med era.

However I agree this is the best choice for a french leader. Someone should really make it.

I think Louis is the best choice, he's more representative and belongs to the dinasty of the Bourbons.
Napoleon is more a great leader, he only lasted 20 years.
And Napoleon isn't French, hes Corsican!

I think Louis XIV should have been the obvious choice (Joan of Arc! ) and would love having such a leaderhead available. But I'm using also William as a sub which works pretty well, so I'd actually prefer a good Napoleon first if it came down to choosing one to get done.

i dont think napoleon would work well, i mean he's a dictator the 19th centurie's hitler

I think that's a tad unfair... Hitler was much, much worse.

he was a dictator. But we can't call him the Hitler of the 19th century. He didn't order any mass genocide.
I prefer Louis because he represents the peak of the Bourbons, who ruled France for centuries...Napoleon better fits the great leader role.

Louis XIV would rock as France's leader,... it's the obvious best choise, for
reasons stated above; Joan and Napolean were military leaders, not primarily
known for their role in government/national culture.

Actually Napolean's goverment rule, was probaly better then Louis's. Napolean was a jerk but not quite as decedant as Louis. The Napoleanic Code is still used in some nations as the basis for their laws. Though I agree, Louis represents the French monarchy at it's height while Napolean is better known for military...Joan as the leader just seems kind of random and stupid considering she had almost no influence in the goverment, and probaly an over rated military career.

Cough, cough... have you ever heard about 100 years war? Joan had saved the French monarchy from English: this is the reason because she's the Civ3 leader. BTW, I have already said that I prefer Bonaparte.
