Lets bash Britain

There's no longer such a thing as either homophobia or racism in the UK!

Le random Imam appears: Burn all demn gays

All the Brits respond: Removal all demn kebobs!!!!

Yes right, sure there's no more homophobia or racism in the UK. Deluded people.

According to the British govnt, media, reports and such stuff, racism and homophobia no longer exists in the UK.

I was trying to make fun of that joke of a 'fact'.

Irish logic 101:

'This woman and her unborn child are gonna die if we don't abort!!!'.

Abortion DENIED!

We just sent a mother and her unborn baby to heaven! Yay.

But demn Muslambs in the middle west are evil.

Actually Ireland has one of the lowest mother mortality rates in the world. You are just ignorant.

Abortion in the Irish Republic is actually specifically legal if done so to save the life of the mother, so I'm not quite sure where that's coming from.

Two things:

a) It a Western nation.
b) Abortion is legal in Ireland when the life of the mother is in danger.

I'm not trying to get on board with bhavv here, as he seems to have his facts messed up, but your response isn't really demonstrating anything.

Yes. The doctors in that case acted negligently and were charged for doing so - if you actually look at the case, you'll find that both the law and medical sense commanded them to perform an abortion, which they failed to do. As a direct result, the Irish government passed into statute a law codifying the effect of a 1992 judgement that abortions were legal in order to save the life of the mother.

There are very prominent and huge pro life catholic movements in Ireland too, even if its legal, it seems strongly opposed against by the religious majority, and how many other doctors / hospitals are telling patients that they cant have abortions because Ireland is a catholic country?

The loudest people get the most play, but I get the strong impression that almost everyone that thinks abortions shouldn't be performed in situations where the mother is likely to die without one isn't almost anyone.

Is that sentence correct? I'm having a lot of trouble untangling the meaning.

Let's delete a couple of negatives:

" I get the strong impression that almost everyone that thinks abortions should be performed in situations where the mother is likely to die without one is almost everyone."

Hmm. That doesn't seem to help. I wind up with "almost everyone is almost everyone". Which is evidently true. But not helpful.

Ireland is not part of Brittan! The really offensive thing to the Irish about slaging them off in the "lets bash Brittan" thread is the whole not knowing what nation they are.

Their abortion laws are an abomination, but slag them off, for all their many sins under their own name. Or look like an ignorant knob. Whatever.

Ireland is not part of Brittan!

Where, or what, is this place "Brittan"? And how do we know Ireland isn't part of it?

But I'm all in favour of bashing it. Wherever it might be.

As far as I read it, he means that almost everyone thinks abortions should not be performed under any circumstances.

You should perhaps forgive people the confusion given the differing usage of the various forms of the word based solely on what the word following or preceding happens to be.
