i think it should be called a "complaints forum", i.e., "Civ4 BtS - Complaints Forum (Dicuss anything that shuld've been added or changed or shouldn't have been added here)"... for stuff besides Poland, like Vietnam, Pho, HRE, Boadicea, etc.

Actually, in Bergen County NJ where I live, there are Polish folks everywhere... just like the Italians. Two towns over from me is Wallington... might as well call it "Little Poland" haha. There are also tons of Poles that workout at my gym... we represent the big, Polish Powerhouses.

Poles can be in. they could be in. whether they should be in doesn't really matter, because "if the HRE can be in, so can [x] civilization". the question is, would they be in?

I suspect that if Firaxis were not so concerned with ticking every demographic box, Poland would get in.

I really should stop being influenced by the Master..
Anyway, what I mean is they're too busy trying to be politically correct, hence we have Ethiopia and "Native America", and to a lesser extent the HRE (along with bringing in Cristo Redentor as an uber powerful wonder) which makes me wonder if they're trying to pander to a certain U.S. dominant religion.
In any case, countries like Poland don't get a look because pandering to Poland isn't politically correct.

Putting in Cristo Redentor has nothing to do with Christianity, but it has everything to do with a kind of geographical/ethnic "representation." That wonder represents modern Latin America. Should it be in as a "world wonder"? I don't think so, but then I also think Three Gorges Dam should be changed back to Hoover Dam. The graphic in the game is of Hoover, after all!

First of all, you cast a slur on all the people and now you are redefining that to their leaders.
That's a very different argument. Saying that their leadership has not risen to the challenge of their famine situation and has squandered international aid is not tantamount to the people being "too stupid to feed themselves" - that's not blunt, it's nasty. Making fun of people who have suffered so much is nothing to do with political correctness or not, but to do with being brought up to have respect for other humans.
We already did this one, you ignore the thousands of years of history and then totally fail to respond when people give you a wealth of information. I see from another of your replies that you've learned something having quoted about Aksum etc... and I can tell from your character that you have too much pride to say that you were wrong, but if you want to ignore facts and believe your prejudices that's fine. Making attacks on human tragedy however, is unacceptable.
