I'm back. I've had a look at astre's save. Looking fine.

My main thought about this game is that we're half pursuing multiple wars while half pursuing culture. I'm not so sure this is the way to go at the moment as we basically ain't focussing.

I'd propose we essentially ignore culture at the moment, get engineering from Chuck and build trebs and a few pikes for the next set and go crush Asoka. A few more galleons would be useful in case Just decides to launch a stack of galleys and triremes in our direction. Once India is squashed we could either go full culture (divert to chemistry for frigates vs Justabella) or keep up the wars and go for easy (but late) culture afterwards.
 
I am back. So sorry I couldn't play as promised, auditioned for MasterChef this weekend and then got depressed when the judge didn't let me through so spent Sunday in bed. I am playing NOW!

T1: I hit enter and Charlemagne captures Delhi. Asoka vassals to Charles. Culture bomb Orleans. Try to beg gunpowder of Zara, no such luck.

T2: Zara proposes Guilds<>PP. I lol and tell him to go away. I move some troops around...

T3: zzz

T4: Load some troops onto boats...

T5: there was an AP vote. The outcome:

Also, Buddhism is spread to Phoenician.

T7: Fail to spread Buddhism in Bombay. Troops land on Justin's landmass. I farm up St Pete. I forgot to turn on my research after going to 0% for 2 turns (was supposed to be only 1). Research turned back on.

T8: MilTrad in, Gunpowder. Our little stack that was blocking reinforcements from coming to Iconium is summarily destroyed :( including our General ;(

T9: GS born in Rheims. Not sure what to do with him so let him sleep..

T10: Troops are in some Galleons, trebs are en route. More Galleons are getting built but we need to troops to fill them.

Got it.

We declared on Isabella in response to an arrogant demand: annihilation or capitulation.
Just declared on us: annihilation!
We declared war on Asoka by being outvoted in AP. Asoka has capitulated to someone else. Do we declare on Chuck to continue war with Asoka until India is no more? Do we accept capitulation to an ally?

Do we ignore wars from now on, build up a navy to repel further invasions and build culture or do we annihilate just and capitulate spain?
 
"No" to declaring on Charlie. Asoka has been subdued.

I think maybe focusing on capping Isa instead of annihilating Justin is the way to go. She can continue the war on the other land mass while we pursue cultural victory. On the other hand, we will have Cuirs now. Mayhaps time to obliterate these nations? A swap into slavery after building the Taj and whipping out a nice force?
 
Played 10 turns up to 1525.

1450. Lib to Chuck for guilds and change. We're far more health capped than happy capped and grocers give +3 health. Dye to Chuck for 11gpt.

1460. GS founds Academy in Orleans, bit of extra culture and a boost to a cottage city. Orleans completes Globe and starts grocer.

1480 Gunpowder>chemistry.

1490. AP elections, we vote for Chuck. We annoy Asoka:

1500. Chuck is resident. Spot Spanish Armada (11 caravels, 8 galleys). Just already has a pile of caravels and galleys with maces and cats outside Trezibond which has been under constant threat; lost a few units, killed a few more. Just has been suiciding caravels against our galleys. We got a GG who became a medic3 maceman in Trezibond.

1510. Our next GP is a prophet who gets settled in Paris.

1515. Izzy's stack arrives at Trezibond. 6 maces, 10 cats/trebs.

Lots of fighting around Trezibond. Most of Izzy's stack commits suicide. We're getting to the point of being able to take the initiative, keep building cuirassiers and frigates.
 
well seems like I'm UP.
As I'm UP in my other SG game and in my SGOTM, it will take me some time to play this round. I will look at the save this week end.

looked at the save yesterday night but couldn't played yet.

I have some questions:

What is the tech goal we have?
Why are we going for constitution?
I would have seen somethiong more focused on our actual goal :steel, riffle or long term (electricity, radio, mass media...)

For building cuirasser I may reduce the speed to increase the convertion of cities. There is quite a lot of work on that point to acheive the 9 cities per religion.

for military: fregates are the key to take cities, i will produce them in ports until we reach at least 8.
 
We also need to decide when we will be switching off tech and switching on culture. For me, currently, going for cuirs to take out Justin and Isa is a good short term strategy. They have a whole continent for use to populate!
 
Its a long time but iirc its for rep and also trade-bait to get steel from Zara without trading astronomy.

Played 10 turns until riffling is in.
Did not went to economy while we could as i saw no real use of this tech, we are at war then riffling was best.

switched to rep, merchantilism, free religion in the golden age.

war toward justy is on the good way, took 2 cities but zara became red fist recently and we are the guy he loves the least :( we are only pleased while all other are friends (india doesn't count)
furthermore, his power is greater than ours and our army is away...

begun spreading religions.
We have 9 cities with boudism and confu, 7 with islam, 4 with indouism but more comming from justy.
Just started spreading taoism therefore, still one city.

on builded things: i build a big set of aqueduct as it was greatly needed and oxford university was began in paris.

We have a good fleet of 7 fregates, that enable to kill fortification quite fast...
This is quite handy as all justy cities except hi cap are on sea.
the army is healing at this point but, very soon, it should embarq to next city by boat.
during that time, upgrade of army to cav might be a good idea. I put % science at 0 for this reason.

I have put steam for next tech but maybe, we should just beeline radio and stop here...

We have a great artist in stock in paris for last turns.
 
Well I am up and this is a *GOT IT*. had a cursory look last night, seems we should swing our troops clock-wise through Justin's cities. See about his annihilation. Which of these guys are the ones we need to obliterate and which one can be vassal-ed?
 
Upgrade mace/pike to rifles first and start bombarding capital.

We need more military, particularly garrison troops.
 
justy must die and liz will be caped

agree to clockwise by boat.
Capital will be a small problem but why not move a stack of trebuchet + foot soldiers to bombard the cap while cav take care of aother cities and finish with the cap.

agree to switch to total war economy as zara does not seem that sure...
