LINES-World of Magic

Sunday

And that's kind of risky, opening up a land bridge to Europe when you don't even have all of Britain conquered yet (not that its any business of mine nor do I care one way or the other).

Edit: Well I thought he said Sunday somewhere but I can't find it, must have been my imagination.

Okay, I'll save it as a PNG from now on. I'll post a map when I get it onto the computer with the file.

It's odd that everyone seems to be having map problems. Might the BMP format have something to do with the problems?

Moments where my inner lazy demon rises up and says "Who cares what they think!?!" :D

I'll save it as a PNG first, and if that doesn't work I'll redraw the map. Sigh.

Full orders sent :D

Get them orders in everyone!

Edit: P.S How does language work in this? Until I'm told otherwise, I'll assume I can talk to anyone I meet.

@Israelite9191: You're Abyssinia, right? Try this map.

One last story before the update - Description of the UU (I'm pretty sure Erik at least will know were I flinched these images from :mischief: )

Chapter 7, Musings on a Ocean of Darkness, Dictated by The Lord in Green in the glorious year of 217 PF

A truly infinite universe is a terrible thing for a finite mind to have to endure; for it means that somewhere among the dark folds of reality, every dream, every fear, every nightmare that lurks in the heart of man will be forged in flesh and quickened into life. These hordes are literally beyond counting, and they hunger.

A man of sufficient will however, can turn these gibbering masses into a resource for his own advancement. A well honed summoning gate, with the right bait can draw a terror to this plane of existence and world and hold it there. However a wise man must always be circumspect - there will always be a creature beyond the threshold that will be his match, or greater, wither in will or shear puissance. Thus the summoner must have a clear image in his mind while he formats the rite of opening - reaching out across the endless weave of worlds for a beast from his own nightmares, or a facsimile thereof. Thus the powers of imagination the summoner has at his disposal are a two edged sword - increasing the capabilities of what he calls, whilst also increasing the danger.

The forms that can be bound are as mutable and countless as the stars in the sky, ranging from amorphous blobs and sacs of biting teeth...

...to things that despite walking on two legs and having what might be described as a face, share nothing in common with man or the old Anteman.

Beware especially of calling to a crafty beast or one with the power of flight - controlling these should they attempt an escape is much more difficult due to their mobility and cunning, any who wish for an object lesson should travel to the Old Manse of Furilos, and look on the devastation wrought by the flying beast the foolish master of that house thought to use against me. And most of all, never call on one with the ability to shape magic as a sorcerer-priest might; it will break the fetters you lay upon it like rotten seaweed.

Now, onto the twelve incantations to bind; the formation of a gate being describe earlier. The first, and most important, are the four rings of Cthagguila which hold the creature to the time and space that we understand. Four colours of inks, admixed with the blood of a land animal...

OOC: I have that card, the one on the bottem, two from the right. It's the Witch Doctor Engine, or something right?

To everyone wondering: Search Gatherer for "Horror". That's where he 'flinched' the images from.

First row: Drinker of Sorrow, Woodwraith Corrupter, Squirming Mass, and I can't find the last one.
Second row: Delraich, Ichorid, Witch Engine, Phyrexian Negator

Disenfrancised: Note that "flinched" is exactly what your soldiers will do if you attempt to use those creatures. Perhaps you meant "filched"? :p
I expect Iggy will tone down those creatures if you try to use them, though.

Here's hoping for an update on Sunday. :D

"flinched" was the word I intended to use. We use words in strange ways over here. (Also your wrong on wraithwood corrupter :p )

my soldiers stay clear of those things, as I've said several times in my stories they are very much a "point and shoot" weapon. Anyway its amazing what people can get used too.

I only tone them down by saying that every UU has a weakness. Some UUs are good at everything, so I just calculate them as 10 times more efficient in everything than a human soldier. But a specialized UU is very powerful but has one or two troubling weaknesses. In example, Khemri's vampires, while very difficult to lay a sword upon, are vulnerable to arrows, expecially if they are burning. These horrors will be difficult to control, and without enough magic to keep them under control they'll break free and go on rampages.

whats my Pheonix's weaknesses so I know what to avoid?

All UUs are vulnerable to magicians. How's this? If a phoenix is netted (which would be very difficult), it is vulnerable to anything until it burns itself free. A phoenix can also be killed by too much contact with water.

So there are two difficult ways to kill a phoenix without magic. A magical way would be with enough magicians casting an extinguishing spell.

Could someone tell me where the eraser tool is in Paint Shop Pro? It'll help me clean the map.

I used a blank map, and drew all the nations on it. SAVE IT AS A .PNG FILE. This will ensure the color doesn't degrade.
