OCC So how does trade work in this NES anyway?

Both nations pay 2 economy points, and each one earns 1 eco point every 3 turns. And if a trade route that is not yours goes through your land you don't collect on it, though you can secretly raid it for gold. :groucho:

Much appreciated. We will begin construction of the bridge immediately.

You take a great risk in entering a war on Atlantica's side. But be as you will, we will let you repent in time.

To: Gorin
From: Germania
Apologies, but no. It has been our tradition to stay out of conflicts. But this living island you spead of fascinates us. We will send some druids to investigate.

Hah! I am older than Atlantis itself, mighty though she was they still could not tame me. I have seen the wars in the distant orient, the horrors of Hyperborea, into the very depths of your mind, Merzan. I see all that goes on on this world, am mightier and older than any nation, you wish to defile my home with cities and believe that FOOD will appease me?
But perhaps we can make an agreement. Leave me in peace, and I will be peaceful in return. I see all that goes on in this world. Once every great while, I will let you consult me in a matter that requires knowledge.

Israelite, you DO remember that you're actually Abyssinia right? :D

20 Evil mages, Blood Pyromancy
What do you want? Blood magic or Pyromancy?

All PC stats are updated, NPCs will be done a little later.

Edit: Double Post

But so this post isn't intirely wasted, would it be to much trouble to keep the map on the first page the updated map so we can see both the stats and map on one page?

Shouldn't I have more infantry? I bought 100 this last turn using the one eco point that Balaeria gave Karthage per treaty but I don't think you added them into the stats.

From the Peace Treaty said:
4) You will pay [1 econ point next turn] reperations to Karthage for the loss of shipping and material you have caused.

If you did add these my apologies, I just thought I had more than 200 infantry before this turn.

Edit: And I've just added it up, I should indeed have 400 infantry unless for some reason Balaeria defaulted in their reperations payment, in which case that would seem something of enough significance that I should be told.

INDUS ORDERS:

3 points to spend -

Grow Economy(1 point)
Raise 100 infantry(1 point)
Begin construction of the Magical Forge - A large forge that our Firelords will power, providing mystical weapons to them in combat, along with higher-grade weapons for our soldiers. (1 point)

Expand to include the last remains of the Indus river, and put that in our control.

good, after the bridge is up we will immediately begin moving our troops through. Also, perhaps you can give us some insite into this Dreadmire island.

To Germania
Thank You great ones, we are in your debt, though we are sad no alliance can be reached between us we understand that you have your own concerns

To Dreadmire
very well, we shall with draw, and to show our gratitude we will also use our ships to protect you if you wish, from any other invaders, but only if you wish oh great Dreadmire. We would also like to inform you that druids from the people of Germania are coming to visit you, they come purely for peace and so that we may all understand each other better, please do not harm them oh great Dreadmire

ooc can i patrol the island and then let through Germania's druids through?

Helvetia Orders:

Put 2 eco points into getting Unicorns. (20 I believe)

Put 1 eco point into raising the economy.

Expand! From our sheltered hovel in Geneva, send forth strong and loyal men, pious and realistic women, and giddy children to colonize our barren world! Ten unicorns should also go with these settlers, to protect them.

*Because I'm too lazy to make a section of the map to show my expansion, this will tell you where I want to expand:

-In Switzerland(if I don't already own it.)
-Lombardy(Northern Italy)
-France(Around and near Lombardy/Switzerland, but go no further than where Marseilles is OTL.)

Captains Log Day 1
We have Launched the mission to find the homeland. the place our where out Ancestors lived befor the Great mages swept us up and carried us here to Avalon. and I know the support of the people support us. several hundreed , including Lady Morgan herself came to see us off.. Even the Sailors of the expadition to the Line of white stoped their preperation for a moment to see us off.

Captains Log, Day 26 well that was a bit of a dissapointment. we finialy spoted an Island, but it was a relativly deserted place. still, we have maped a bit of it and marked it's aproximat location on our map. it would make a good place to searve as a forward outpost for our nation. though it might be a while till we can colinize. but then again, what is a few decades to Imortals such as us?

Captains Log, Day 56.
Supplies are starting to get low, but Hope is high, as we just spotted another Island. Still, if we didn't have the Salt tree, we would have run out of freshwater days ago. the water still has a slight Mitallic taste to it, but the tree dose searve as it was intended to, extracting the Salt from the seawater and makeing it Drinkiable. we have been tossing the salt crystals growing off it overboard, and have been collecting the seeds from the strange, jucy fruit it grows. the Nurtuiers will be Glad to have them, and to know their expiriment was a success.

Captains Log, Day 57
no luck. the Island was uninhabbited. but we there seems to be a much larger Island to the east. we will try there next. we did find a small spring to replinish out water, which is a bit lucky, as the Salt tree has begun to wilt. it seems to be only able to survive a week on the Sea water. the Nurtuires will be curious about this when we get back, so we are going to try and presirve as much of the tree as we can.

Captain's Log, Day 59-61
VICTORY! we have found some inhabtints on this Island. they seem to be farmers, and were admazed at our appirince. they seem to lack the pointed eartips, and stand about a foot taller. they had also never seen green hair, which happens to be quite common, atleast in the outlining setlments of Avalon, where there is more sunlight.
after a bit of trading with them, we were able to partialy restock out food suplies, and have set sail to the south. they told us of a city there. we hope to see if any more information about this strange land can be found there. and it there are anytrade posibilities.

Captains log, Day 68
we have spotted the city, and are preparing to make port, though due to the fact that night is rapidly approaching, we have decided to wait till tommarow to dock.

Map.png

OOC: okay, Kentharu, we have made contact with you! the map is the route the ship traveled (to the best of the captains knowlage.) the light gray spots are the points the ship landed to explore.

UU: Avalonian Treeships(galley) wonderfull works of art, these ships are farstronger and faster then most ships of the time. this is because they are grown, not built. they are Lighter, while at the same time slightly bigger and have a stronger hull.(they also bear fruit and can produce a limited amount of fresh(though bad tasteing) water. this allows the ship to travle farther). they also grow over time, though this is slow. the mages of Avalon can use this tendence and enhance the ships over time (meaning, they improve as the nation improves, and if a new, better type of ship becomes availible, I can pay and change the ship to the new type (though it only cost 1/2 as much as it would to build a new tree-ship.) but for 5 turns after the ship is changed, the ship cannot be converted into another type).

I wish to rule the seas.. and eventuall... well, they are treeships, after all.

Dairy of Krippa / Sloth 12th 280

Krippa1.jpg
(portait of Krippa)

The ground was alive with horror. Alive with vengeance, and lust for our blood. The very earth beneath our feet shook and trembled before surging upwards. A great boom then erupted as roots grabbed our men from beneath the surface. Was this our fate again? To be destroyed by a living island! Perhaps this is natures cynical way at getting back at man for all his wrongs.
Ents1.jpg

(an artists rendering of the living trees)

We had landed on Dreadmire, the island those Picts had warned us about. But who would pay attention to barbarians, even if they were citizens of Gorin, they were not truly of the Gorin people. They told Merzan and I, not to tread on that ground, that dangerous ground. We did, and now I regret it, with all my heart I regret ever setting foot on that accursed island. Men were torn apart, I myself lost my leg and my arm, but most important, my heart to the beastly island. I and 100 of my other men, fought a giant tree that had uprooted itself and began reeking havoc on our lines, that is when it struck me in the chest, cracking my heart bone (ribs) in two and flinging me back, breaking my arm in the process of landing. They said I would die in a matter of hours and that it was pointless to try. But Yusha, the son of Merzan, came to my aid. His manner of aiding me however was strange indeed. He first burnt off my arm and then begin to melt metals around him, forming a burning arm from it and then attaching it to mine. The pain was so harsh, I wished I had passed out but no, I felt ever bit of the pain as the metal arm burnt and connected into my flesh arm, burning the skin between. Still the worst was not yet to come, he made a heart, a heart of living iron and then placed it in my chest, before sealing my shattered chest with a layer of iron as thick and strong as any armor. He had placed part of the island, Dreadmire, inside me and it merged with my body, metal viens sown together with magic and a heart that would last forever. Perhaps I was immortal like Merzan himself, and all other Arch-Magi. 50 brave men we lost, to that island, 50 men dead before the Magi could clear away enough land for us to defend and even they some magi died.

Magi2.jpg

(picture of a tree just before being burnt)

dead_ents.jpg

(the forest after the Magi cleared it out)

It was then that Merzan finally rose from his throne and left the capital to investigate for himself, this living island. It had been 400 hundred years since he was outside the capital but he knew that this island would destroy them all if action was not had. Upon our greatest ship he came. Immediately upon landing he left into the wilds, into the heart of the land and only I and Yusha followed him. Then he began to talk to the island, spreading his arms wide and imploring it for peace. What madness, I thought, could our great lord think of, to talk to this beastly island like it was human, like it could think and breath, or even care for the sorrows of man. No reply came from it, no great voice or tremble, not even a sign of recognition. We retreated to our camp and the next day Merzan gathered the soldiers and Magi, not in urgency but in a sort of cool calm that seemed almost godly. He said that the island Dreadmire had spoken to him in a dream, perhaps even a vision. The island had been even before the great Atlantic and Ur wars, having knowledge of all things it seemed, even insight into the mind of Merzan himself. What dreadful things this demon could do, peer into a mans mind like a book, dive into his soul and laugh at all his fears. This thing laughed in our futile attempts to please it but it would not harm us if we left. And so we did, by Merzan’s decree we were all shipped back to Gorin, to the nearest city of Mortugal.

The_First_Settlers.jpg

(Krippa's painting of the Avalon ship)

A strange think beheld our eyes, a ship near our ports, but it was like no other ship before. Fruits hung from it and it was much bigger than many of our ships. What was even stranger were the people aboard this ship, they were shorter than many of us and had green hair, with pointed ears. Strange indeed this little men were, but Merzan never the less offered them peace and a warning of Dreadmire. I personally invited the captain and his crew to come join in celebration. Drinks would be had this night and even better, a time to test this new iron heart of mine.

From Gorin
To Avalon (or the Avalon ship)
Greetings little ones, we hope your journy here was safe, we offer you a NAP and also a warning
do not tread near the island of Dreadmire (Ireland), not only is it a living island but we will defend it to our last man so do not attempt to conquer it, we have tried and failed

In the name of Lady Morgan, I accept your NAP.

this Island you speak oh.. a living Island... hmm I will have to speak with m'Lady and the Elders upon this, but It is very likely we will have no conflict with this Dreadmire. we have ample land to expand for the next few Centuries.
but fornow we must return and inform our people that you exist. we have been in isolation on our Island for many Centuries. everyone will be happy to know that has finnialy ended. and pehaps oneday, maybe trade will florish between our two people.

oh, one thing befor we leave, may our people aska small favor. we are.. looking for a traitor to our people, who commitied a crime agueinst reality it's sellf and sought to... well, we don't know what he seek. but his vary existance has been damaged. coudl you look through your history and legends. is there any trace of a great Mage, who had no name?

Likewise! We had feared we were alone in sea of nomadic tribes.
If we were to set up a tradeing post on the northern centre of the Great Fresh water Lakes, would you reciprocate with a city on the southern shore so we can trade and enrich both our peoples?

We accept. Let us begin construction at once.

Here is a gift we offer to start, a vial of the substance our nation builds on. We call it Trafe. It is chaos in its purest form. Your mages will surely find it of great interest.

I think she means Blood Pyromancy when she says it. Imagine dark flames that consume only blood for their fuel. Prisoners are regularly sacrificed to these fires to keep them burning. Midnight rites are practised to gain power from the bloodfires.

(If you've read David Eddings, just think of Angarak society.)

IC: We thank you for your gift, unfortunately examples of our magic are considerably less portable [laughs] so we cannot reciprocate in kind, but when we open a trade route we would gladly give you 50 bales of the furs we trap here in the desolate north.

OCC: So are we setting up the cities this turn and building a trade route next turn? Or both this turn? (i'm assuming we have to send the two points in the same turn)
Also darn you for your gift; I've got to rewrite my story now ;)
