Update V- 2100 BCE
We're off!
-Captain of Hawaii's colony ship, just before setting the vessel out onto open sea.
Great celebrations are occurring all over Hawaii! The titanic colony ship, which has been under construction for centuries and generations, is finally complete. The ship, christened 'Discovery', is the largest man-made object (other than Atlantis) to ever exist. After filling up with thousands of Hawaiians, it began travelling west. It has aided colonization and exploration greatly.
A serpent rider based off the colony ship discovered an island civilization comparable to Hawaii. On the island of OTL New Guinea, a race calling themselves the Vol'kiss have been discovered. They wield a powerful form of geomancy, specializing themselves in the control of volcanoes. The Vol'kiss were respectful to the explorer, and he returned to the colony ship to report his discovery.

The Hyperboreans' attempts to convince native tribes around the Sea of Voormithadreth to join them have been wonderfully successful. A major tribe has pledged allegiance to the Lord in Green, and has provided Hyperborea with a city. More minor tribes have either agreed to live peacefully with the Hyperboreans or emigrated to the cities.
An attempt to discover the whereabouts of the lost Horror have provided Hyperborea with pleasing news. According to friendly Ontarian natives, the beast is somewhere in Quebec, ravaging the various tribes living there. An attempt to catch it was cancelled, for the Lord in Green wished to see just how long it would continue its rampage through enemy lands.
(+1000 population)
Elgovia's expansion through central North America continues unhindered. They have begun trading with the Hyperboreans to the north, through OTL Lake Michigan.
Dur Khaz' citizens are beginning to grow angry with their leader's inaction towards the jungle necromancers. The attacks are growing fiercer and fiercer, and the casualties are becoming too large to possibly be ignored. Rebellious leaders are popping up all over the country, and their followers threaten to overthrow Khaz the Defiler if no immediate action is taken.

The majestic treeships of Avalon are quickly spreading knowledge of their nation all over the northern Atlantic. They have also slowly expanded to claim almost all of their home island plus a small port city half way to Gorin.
The Gorin have abandoned Dreadmire isle, which has returned to its normal, peace ful state. And once again, the Pyromancers of Gorin march to war. The Geomantic Atlanticans rose a land bridge from the depths of the channel seperating the two nations, and more of Gorin's forces cross over every minute. Gorin's considerable army raced down to the beseiged capital of Nanta as soon as it was on the European mainland. They were in a race against time. How long would Atlantica hold out?
That the geomancers of Atlantica had to go north to raise a land bridge proved to be a costly mistake. New Atlantis, realising that the enemy had lost its magical presence, wasted no time in blocking the river, flooding Nanta. They took the flooded city with a force of Golems and infantry. In the palace was found the drowned body of General Karrak. His body was sliced apart and thrown into the receding floodwaters to be washed away.
It was then that Gorin arrived.
The New Atlantean army was tired by their battle, but not unprepared for a counterattack. They set up their army on the walls of Nanta, and put up a valiant defense. Being outpowered magically, they could not flood the river again, or efficiently counter flying Lomba riders. Golems, who were largely immune to Lomba fire, shot down many by throwing sharp pieces of themselves. But the Gorin War Wizards broke the life-giving spells powering several Golems. After the defenses were worn down by incessant Pyromantic spells, the Atlantean cavalry broke into the city and slaughtered the remaining New Atlantean defenders. Their only survivors escaped back over the river on the backs of the remaining Golems.
The Atlanticans are now badly damaged and leaderless, but they have not had their fighting spirit quenched. They remained in Nanta to repair the damage and get the city running again, while Gorin's Lomba riders launched sproadic raids on the New Atlantean lines. While their numbers are diminished, but the New Atlanteans are nowhere near admitting defeat. They now seeking the aid of Atlantis itself, although the mighty nation has been neutral in all conflicts since the terrible war with Ur.
(-200 Atlantican infantry, -150 New Atlantean archers, -100 New Atlantean infantry, -10 New Atlantean Golems, -150 Gorin infantry, -10 Lomba Riders, +1 Gorin loyalty)
In Germania, beautiful tree cities are appearing as the population continues to grow. The druids they sent to investigate Dreadmire have returned, and say that they have sensed colossal power within it, not bound to any particular type of magic like humans are. Like everyone else who has seen the island, they believe that humans, for their own sake, should not set foot on it. The Germanians were angered by the creation of the Gorin/Atlantica land bridge, and claim that it is responsible for the recent drop in temperatures by blocking off a warm current.
The nation of Helvetia, in central europe, has risen to become a recognized state. People have traveled great distances to see their incredible unicorns.
Karthage's exploration of the Mediterranean is now complete, and its sailors have pressed the borders of the known world out further and further. They have now met all of the Black Sea nations and Gorin. Their further exploration was put on hold by an impassible isthmus just to Gorin's south.
Karthage has also established colonies on the island of Crete. It has made trade with Ur considerably easier.
The young nation of Balaeria has claimed some of southern Gaul and Iberia as its own, as New Atlantean citizens abandon the threatened lands.
Illyria has begun the creation of a massive jewel, the Chaos Crystal. When it is complete, its energies will empower many ordinary with powerful magical abilities.
The Tripolye/Scythia war is racing towards its end. Tripolean attempts to set barbaric Scythians against each other have failed, as the chieftains understand the situation well enough to know not to attack each other. Tripoleans launched several raids arainst western Scythia, but found the land deserted, and all of the fields salted and burned. The main Tripolean army tried to slip behind enemy lines in galleys, but they were spotted. They outran the Scythian ships, but lost their element of surprise. The Tripolean army, led by Voevoda Kiy himself, landed at the Scythia/Ur border and stormed their way north, annihilating all resistance. Within a month, they had completely surrounded the capital of Azov itself. They broke in after a brief siege, taking significant losses, but nowhere near as bad as the Scythians. In the center of the city was Warlord Vargas and his last defenders. They fought viciously, but Tripolye, with its superior numbers, won. Vargas was personally decapitated by Kiy, but not before cutting of the Tripolean leader's left arm.
After the fall of Azov, Scythia collapsed in on itself. A few Scythians fled to the northeast, but many surrendered to the Tripolean army. The tunnel fiends were mysteriously absent from the final days of the war. Knowledgeable Tripoleans believe that the death of the last Scythian geomancers freed the tunnel fiends from their service.
(+5000 Tripolean population- Scythians, -100 Tripolean infantry, -50 Tripolean cavalry, +2 Tripolean loyalty, Organized nation of Scythia destroyed)
Songhai's support of Abyssinia in its war has ceased. It has fallen into a state of anarchy due to the ineffectiveness of its ruler. The rebels hope to establish a republic, a far more fair system of government than the current harsh monarchy.
(-10 Great Lions, -100 infantry, -100 archers, -1 loyalty)
Abyssinia's fortunes in the war could be described as one small step forward, one giant leap backward. Their skilled use of magic has done considerable harm to Khemri's cities by causing storms and letting light shine on normally dark lands. But their success ends there. Khemri has enough necromancers with its army to cancel out most magical attacks, so Abyssinia has often been forced to fight with its conventional army. No cities have traded hands, for most of the confrontations have occured along the uninhabited banks of the upper Nile. Currently, Khemri's army has reached OTL Khartoum, but are being held back by constant whirlwinds started by Abyssinia's priests.
Inside the rememants of Abyssinia's army, something strange is happening. People are mysteriously disappearing, and blame is being pointed at several officers. At one point, a man was found cannibalizing the body of one of his soldiers. Giving an evil laugh, he transformed back into his natural form- that of a vampire- and fled. This event has set many Abyssinians against each other. Another troubling problem is that rocs, after killing and eating vampires, begin to become slightly vampiric themselves. Fortunately, ony a few suffered this problem, and they were sent off on a suicide raid against Khemri. It is now known that the only safe way for a Roc to kill a Vampire is to rip it apart with its talons.
(-100 Abyssinian infantry, -10 rocs, -1 Abyssinian loyalty, -10 Khemri Vampires, -50 Khemri infantry, -500 Khemri population)
In the far south of Africa, a warrior nation has been born. Based around a fortress-capital at OTL Victoria Falls, these people have quickly consolidated their claim on the lands around them. No people have yet been met who are brave enough to stand up to them.
Ur's retaking of its former lands is coming to a halt. It has run into new nations on many of its frontiers. But its people now know the great feeling of being part of an expanding nation, and they aren't going to give up that power willingly.
The Indus Empire is expanding up into the great mountain range to their north. Their explorers have made contact with Vietnam and China, and their navy knows all of the coast from Arabia to the Bay of Bengal. Also, they have begun construction in a tremendous forge in their capital of Mohenjo-Daro. Few can imagine the tremendous weapons that this magical forge will produce when it is complete.
The massive Mongol Horde has spilled over the borders of China. The Chinese, who had been fearing an attack, were not totally unprepared militarily. But they were terribly unprepared for combating the Mongol's magic. By teleporting into gatehouses and secure areas, the Mongols worked their way through all defense. Only one Chinese fortress still stands north of the Huang He. The outnumbered Chinese know that a direct counterattack would be suicide, so they can do little more than launch cavalry raids against Mongol positions. Other than that, they can only remain in their fortresses and pray that they will swept away in the next Mongol wave.
(-200 Mongol cavalry, +2000 population, +1 turn of production on Tower of Karakorum, +1 loyalty, -100 Chinese infantry, -150 Chinese archers, -50 Chinese cavalry, -2000 population, -2 loyalty)
In the frozen Nation of Antarctica, great celebrations are occuring because of the completion of the ice palace. Several penguin dignitaries also attended the ceremony, and have all suggested that trade routes are to be set up between them and Antarctica.
The Penguin nation of Ross has discovered new lands to the north, and settled them. Strange creatures, very similar to the Antarcticans, have been discovered, though these primitives had no magic.
Whew! That's all. I'll do story bonuses and stats later.
