LINES-World of Magic

To Hyperborea
From Illyria

Welcome to our lands,we have so much to learn from each other, but these warp portal concern us,what if some legion that is burning(AKA vast armies of demons)tries to come through it and scorch the entire world?

To Korea, Japan
From the Mongols

We have no wish to war across the oceans, and no motivation to fight for a desolate island chain. We offer a white peace.

Geez man, does everything you do have to come from Warcraft? :joke:

No, it's a great game. I don't mind LOTR things either. I'm surprised no one has a Balrog UU.

Yeah that was intentional :) So what is the status on demons from the Imaterium?

OCC: Well old chap, I'd guess we would be up the proverbial creek sans paddle! [uses archmage and mass teleports the heck out of the Med]

Rest assured a horde of demons is one of the least troubling things that could come trough an ill-made gateway. But do not worry; we have had many hundreds of years practice at opening these portals, the part of them which lies outside the membrane of our reality is small, and but lightly touches the ylem and is far from any other layer of the Bulk.
You will find the benefits of our presence to far outweigh any fleeting fear.

All right, but it would be nice if it had a shield of some kind with metal doors like this?Maybe we can to help construct it? ;)

Actually we are going to claim the chain of islands next to Ur next turn,so maybe you can build a portal on one of our islands for two eco points only.

@Cleric: Chaos magic, duh. Read this descriptive post for a full account.

@Lord_Iggy: Fine, I'll start the Settler Pact now. (*cough*PatriottoDreadmire*cough*3turns*cough*)

Who wishes to start a trade route now?

What sort of conditions do you wish to impose on us, and which island in particular do you offer? Rhodes is a choice piece of real estate after all...

Additionaly is Ur content with your expansion into the Aegean? We would hate to spend all that money to set up shop in a warzone.

On a lighter note that...device you describe is interesting but seems very primative and inefficent for large scale trade. Hyperboreas warp portals are differently designed being on the whole larger (the gate from Ka-Commoriom to Na-Uzuldorium is more than 30 paces wide) omnidirectional and permanently open.

OoC: Thats right folks! There's no dial-up with Hyperborean brand products! Order now for fast, affordable, broadband connections to the globe! Great rates for business users!

To Ur
From Hyperborea

We accept your terms for the island of Rhodes, with the additional provision that a trade route is set up as soon as the Hyperborean economy can sustain it (turn after next). We will take up residence next turn.

Can you explain your rationale?

Projects: Kiyevgrad- +1 education level, +2000 population, Builds a New Capital (2/4)
Antarctic Advancement- +1 education level, +2000 population, 1/5
Projects: Library of Ba'al- +1 education level, Can spend 2 points on increasing education per turn, (1/5)

I guess I could live with 5 turns for mine, since as long as I can keep a strong economy I'll be able to more than make up for the one extra cost by researching faster, but you screwed Antarctica.

And you forgot to update my trade with Ur and Illyria

Well the stats are fully updated now. Please tell me if I've screwed up anywhere, so... tired....

Minor complaint: You promised that I would receive a economic bonus for my conquest of Northern China, and that's not reflected in the stats. Just a minor complaint.

It'll be gradual. Trust me, occupying China will have huge benefits for you in the long run.

Ah, well, that gives me incentive to write that story concerning the total absorbation of China into the Mongol Empire, and then the dissolution of the Mongol Empire into something...more...;)

Yes, that's a problem you may face. Even with magic, there's a limit to the size of an empire, in one form or another.

Antarctican Orders
