LINESII- Into the Darkness- Part II

Most of the oneists are descended from people who were forcibly converted when littleboots was in charge. The military kept a lid on any descent last time.

I don't think that really changes the fact that the majority of the population is Oneist and has been for a least three or four generations. None of the Oneists alive today would have anything but a vague knowledge that their ancestors were forcibly converted and would probably consider it a great deed of their ancient king in bringing them to the light of salvation, as it were, not a horrible act of religious repression. Think about all of the Saint-Kings of Europe who forcibly converted their nations to Christianity; they're worshipped, not reviled!

However, it was hastily stamped out and there was much underground Divotheist practice. The conversions weren't thorough enough, plus Tir Tairngire's neighbours maintained the old religion. A reversion wouldn't be, and wasn't hugely difficult.

I take it from the silence from Darkening that he accepts that he is wrong?

Puh-leese. You people should know by now that I never admit anything :). I'll point out that alot of the Tir Oneists were peacefully converted by the missionaries, with only the nobles forced to convert (I think).

Win.

But whatever, I predict i will fall this turn. If i'm tired of slaughter, I'm sure my people are more so.

Yeah......

And the fact that you're being invaded by six people doesn't have anything to do with it?

Well, I'm finished all of the conflicts regarding Gorin, about half of the Valin and Davian campaigns, and everything north and east of them.
[disclaimer]Should be done tomorrow, but it could take longer. I can't promise anything for certain.[/disclaimer]

OOC: Iggy, no trade center in Iolar Geimhread? Bah! *Struggles to work with 2 measly econ. points*

Ngh, and I forgot to include "And attack if scouts report the pirate's positions weak" in the orders ... d'oh.

TO: Kelios
FROM: Jara the Uniter, First Emperor of Syracia

A free flow of trade can only benefit the both of our nations. We propose an expansion in the exchange of goods between us, and the construction of a road reaching to our shared border to handle the increased commerce.

I think I missed this post earlier. Well, I'd be willing, but it wasn't included in my orders this turn. Next turn?

We certainly agree, and would be wiling to begin construction of such a road as soon as possible.

Edit: Seems like this won't happen then...

Syracia's end of the road has been built this turn, as Iggy agreed to the deal in your absence. Maybe the Kelosian road crew ran into trouble in the mountains. ;)

I'm not going to be able to finish this weekend, I've got to do my homework now. Plus, Yukon Speedskating Championships are today.

I knew it! I win something?

I hope you win a meteor on your capital :p

It's alright Iggy. Just deprive me of another looked forward event today! :( Since bird's update won't be up this weekend either, I'm forced to look forward for only dis' mini-update  And my lovely piano recital in around 2 hours...

Or I could ask Iggy to add to my orders that 1000 of our troops build the road to the border from the Kelios side.

Did you see that, Iggy?

I'll point out that the updates say otherwise.
but we can basically ignore anything you say if you never admit you're wrong.

You misunderstand, if they were foce converted last time, the same will happen this time.
Especially with Sanx and its allies taking an active hand in the affairs of the tuatha.

That's true. I'm not really arguing in favor of the Oneists here. It's also worth pointing out that IIRC at the time of the initial conversion more than half of the nation was already Oneist.

iggy i want update, i wanna see how many people jumped on the bandwagon of "kill Gorin"

Probably not as many as the "Kill Lengel" bandwagon a few updates back...

From- Update 21: Hegemon
Tir Tairngire has begun to form closer relations with Arcadia. Its welcoming of Pirian missionaries, while good for relations, was an unpopular move for the people of the country, who are firmly entrenched in their religion already. Despite this, there have still been some converts, and some adopting both religions. The contact has brought trading benefits.

Proof that the missionaries were allowed and that some Tir Tairngirians choose to peacefull convert to Oneism early on. Yes, he did force the conversion after that-but realize that it was him, not the leaders of the faith. In addition, more generations were born into the religion than those who were forced to convert, so many of the Oneists are as the Divothesist were in the first place.

I hope that they understand that whatever they do will come back to haunt them with a heavy hand-especially if we're not destroyed ( I have a feeling that something bad happened with a G)

I'll do it next update. I'm not accepting additions to already-updated regions, even if they're pretty minor.

It doesn't make a major difference how fast it is built (for now at least), most of your trade is maritime anyway.

I've finished your section. Should I drop tantalizing hints or say nothing at all?
