I am the Lengelzai, the greatest General in the Lengel Empire. But I am not Lengel any more. I am a nomad, yet in my veins runs not only Lengel, but Maugot and Nkondi. I look upon all peoples in my Empire as my people, but they are not Lengels either. The real Lengels, the true Lengels, they fight against my Empire to try and revive the idea of the all-conquering Lengel.
But I am not a Lengel any longer. I am more. Greater. Stronger. I am the greatest General in this Empire. This Empire, which no longer has a name. This nation, which has lost is identity as its foundation uproots itself against the greater whole. A new foundation must be built. And it has already begun.
What my forefather started, I will finish. With his Legend, we will become more than the conquerers and the conquered, we will become a nation.
I am the Lengelzai of Iron Face Empire, and my army will be my blade to defeat unbelievers, and put down rebellious fools.

Iron Face Culture
The newly named Iron Face Empire is still mainly nomadic on lower plains of the Lengel region, in Maugot, Nkondi, and the upper Davarian plains, but those leadership positions have taken to wearing Iron masks in respect to Khaidu, the Iron-Willed. Khaidu was the Blighted (Lepersy) Lengelzai that fought the Crystal Ridge Alliance back after their attack, and gained Iron for Lengel use.
The wearing of Masks, and the Legend surrounding the honor and strength it gives to the wear was started by Timur the Lame in homage to Khaidu. Timur while wearing a Golden mask (Khaidu's was obsidian) uterally crushed the Shalamari, and then went on to lead the sucessful invasion of the Bladeist strong-hold.
Power began to be attribuated to Masks, and the Legend made it a sign of power to be honored enough to wear an Iron Mask. This trend is mainly reflected in the army hierarchy, with the highest ranked General wearing a Golden Mask, while the Lengelzai wears Obsidian, although masks are worn by Chiefs of nomadic tribes in the nomadic regions of the Empire.
In the more civilized regions of Davar and Emor, masks are not worn that often except by those who serve the Lengelzai to oversee the far off regions of the Empire. The newly named Empire has created a strange name for itself, but its particular melding of cultures and its legends and cultures, along with the rebellion of those calling themselves true 'Lengels' have caused the Empire to rename itself something suitable for what it is.
The most powerful Empire in the Cradle, an overwhelming culture with an all encompassing religion that has legends and culture based upon masks.
