LINESII- Into the Darkness

Wow, you really think I'll last that long? I'm honored. :)

@Kalthazar: I don't have any internal problems. Crazy religous fanatics are just as good, and in some ways better, than zombies.

Yeah. My first reaction when I saw you had replied was "no fair! The mod can't bet!"

But if you want to bet, say, 200 updates, I'd be fine with that! ;)

We will give you the very generous opportunity to lead your people into exile, as I doubt that you will convert. In return, we will have peace.

If not, you will have a first hand opportunity to find out what a Veritas spear feels like...from the inside.

Story time!

(continued from last story)

And thus the troops marched, and the Crusade began in ernest.

With joy in their hearts as they served the will of Eldos, the Chosen Nation marched into battle. They marched through the valley, and marched out onto the great plain that it was their destiny to own. And their, in the pass, they joined battle.

The forces of Eldrania could not be stopped, though the demons swarmed close, and gave fierce battle, though they attacked on fearsome demon-spawned beast, though they howled in desperation as they were driven back, step by step, inch by inch.

But then, as the forces of the One Nation continued their holy crusade, a messenger rushed to Eldan. The demons were attacking from within the valley. They had breached the cradle of the Chosen Nation. For a moment, Eldan despaired, as demons poured in from every side. But then, lifting up his heart and mind, he prayed to Eldos, and Eldos spoke, saying:

FEAR NOT. FOR AS LONG AS I AM WITH YOU, NO HARM SHALL COME TO YOU. FOR I AM THE ALL-FATHER. I AM THE MIGHTY GOD. I AM THE LORD OF WAR. I AM THE SAVIOR OF MY PEOPLE. FEAR NOT, FOR YOU SHALL TRIUMPH.

And indeed, the Only Nation could not be stopped. They marched south, and at the Fist of God*, Eldos' fist beat them back. And they destroyed the demons who had dared to enter the Cradle, and none survived. And Eldos smiled upon it, and it was good.

And then, chanting and singing prayers to Eldos, the All-Father, the Mighty God, the Lord of War, the Saviour of His People, they marched again. And again. And again.

*Eldraxos, the newly founded city of Eldrania, literally means "Fist of God".

Not like that, I bet...

To Gargari:
We thank you for your help.. but with out the Grazing land to feed the Auroch herds of the Hathron, we will soon weaken.. our precious Econemy is in Runs, and while our forces stand to hold the evil Eldrania off for many years to come, their forces would stand and grow eventually to overwhelm us..

but together..

as the duality speak, where one is defeated, may become victory. where there is death, there is also new life. If you would let us continue to practiceOur Philosphy of Duality and balance, we see no problem with converting your gods. they are good and just, from the information we have gained from the few travelers from your land. and eventually, you may come to see the advantages of both sides of the (phrase untranslateble).

and so, we offer our uncontioional Surender to you.

OOC: I don't see my nation lasting more then 3 more turns, so, while I live, I'll give it to the Gargari. hmmm time to make up a new nation.. hmmm perhaphps tot eh south in the new land? ^_^

And you were around for a year and a half before Iggy popped up somewhere in the Civ3 S&T forum.
That's what I edited my post to say.
