Bigun
Horish stood at the Unchete docks. He had just come from Temple, and was looking over the two gargantuas sitting in the specially made docks. They were his brain child, his lifes dream. He'd even gotten to visit Wilipo because of it. He was now one of the focal points of the Bladist hopes, if they could just resolve the Nurmafer crisis.
When Horish was but a young boy, he lived by the sea. His father was a cripple from the Emorian Crusade. Everyday Horish saw the agony the Oneists caused his father, everyday. Horishes mother had died giving birth to his younger brother Gormer, so their family of 4 was the smallest in the village. Horish would go out fishing with his older brother and his father everyday, taking in the wonderful creation of the Blademaster.
Horish was barking orders at the docks, everything had to be perfect, but that beam here, this beam there. These two ships would be magnificent, much better than the Bladeremes, praise be to Wilipo for making them. But Bladeremes were made to combat the Oneist threat through war on the sea. These two ships, they would spread Bladism. If the Oneists could send people over thousands of miles to discover new things, the Bladeists could do it bigger and better.
When Horish was just a teen, he joined the gang called the One Killers. This was right before the Oneists were deported to Myo-caca. He had to prove himself to get in, so he hunted down a Oneist kid his age and challenged him to a fight. Horish won, but he snapped the kids neck. All the boys cheered him, and he felt no remorse. His oler brother, Jalesh, was in the Secret Inquisition, and Horish wanted to be just like him.
Horish walked along the docks back to his Captains Cabin. He entered, this was home. On the wall was taped a faded map he'd gotten from an Emorian trader, or tratior(Horish laughed at his own pun). The map showed all of the known world, from the Horse Empire(thats how the traitor[he snorts again]translated it for him) to Kwongfei and New Veritas. But what was most interesting was the island in the middle of the Great Sea. Exilisum. It was populated by Oneist liars, and this enraged Horish. He had all the comepletely Oneists nation marked out on the map. They would pay.
Teenage Horish didn't know what to do. He stood there over the dead bodies of his family. Those damn Oneists. He'd won that fight fair and square. But they had relatliated for the killing of that stupid boy. The Thay family, whose son Li(get it, Li Thay) Horish had killed had gotten their Oneists buddies and burned Horishes home. He would later find out they fled across the border to Emor. Horish knelt over the charred bodies of his Brothers and Father and wept.
Horish stood over his desk, trying to to shed a tear. He hated those memories. But he had made a solemn vow of revenge against the Damn Oneists, a Edge of his Sword he would. He drew a knife and stuck it into the sea on the map and uttered the Weapon Prayer. He then sat down to go over the specs of his new vessel, the Bigun.
The sails are cut elliptically and slightly curved with Lexfi Tree Sapling[1]inserts, thus permitting them to sail well on any point of sail. The rigging is very simple because Lexfi is very strong; thus fewer ropes are needed.
The sail-plan is also spread out between multiple masts, allowing for a powerful sail surface, and a good repartition of efforts. The rig is fore-and-aft, allowing for good sailing into the wind.
It was built of Teak, with multiple compartments accessed by separate hatches and ladders: similar in structure to the interior stem of Lexfi.
The Bigun empolyed stern-mounted rudders, with holes in them, what Horish was calling fenestrated rudders. The mountings wee not that strong though, but at this time, Horish could see no way around that. Leeboards and centerboards are used to stabilize the Bigun and to improve its capability to sail upwind.
Horish was pleased with his design. It was a not a warship, but a ship of Peace and Peity, to spread Bladeism and the Swade from horizon to horizon.
Then, there was a knock on the door. It was the sharp knock of someone important. Horish stood up and walked to the door. He opened it, and a man a foot shorter than he was looked up at him.
"You Horish?"
"Yes, sir, I am"
"Well, Congratulations Horish, your one of the 3 Grand Admirals of the Swade Navy."
The short man shook his hand, and asked him to come with his. They had to get to the Swade capital fast.
[1] Lexfi is basically bamboo
[2] A Bigun is basically an ancient Chinese Junk. In fact, i just took the descripition and changed it a little.
