Continue your explorations, and expect a PC neighbour within 1-2 turns.

Yes, there's an update tomorrow.

Yes, there's an update tomorrow.

Yay, someone civilized.

Eldrania?

@Alex: The idea was that you would write a story about Joshea's travels, since you know your culture better than I do.

yay update, please be in by tomorrow

Oh yeah, I forgot about that evil E. Now its just a fascinating piece of history. :p
Not history... I deny it ever happened! The Eldranians surely could not have been that bad. They were simply made up by the Veritasians to expand their empire!

^rantings of a rogue historian 2000 years later... :p

Theres an update tomorrow?! Since when?! I'm barely half-way done with my story! Hopefully they'll be a day or two reprieve or I'm gonna be up for a loong time.

Don't count on it, I don't have many orders.

After my final story, I'll send my orders.

We have a strange culture. A barbaric culture, some would say. A warrior culture, say others. They are all right, in a way. The Lengels live only to fight, and that gives the illusion that is all we are. All we will ever be. And perhaps they are right. We are a barbaric, warrior culture. We live to fight, and fight to live. We even fight till we are dead. Any other death than death in battle is not a good death.

Perhaps their sweeping generalizations are right. That we are uncivilized.

Barbaric.

Yet, they do not understand. They will never understand. Until they can say they've struggled against hunger by training their archery every day just to eat, they have no business judging us. Until they can show that they can traverse the diffucult terrain of our homeland, they cannot say we are barbaric.

Away from all civilization, it is a struggle. A struggle we have won for centuries. Yet these countries to the south judge us, call us barbaric while they live in good weather, tilling the land for food instead of fighting for it. An easy life, compared to our own.

And perhaps I hate them for it. Wish for them to live as we do, to struggle as we struggle. Perhaps I am jealous of them for their wealth, and wish to take it for myself. Perhaps I am all of these, or none at all. I cannot tell. I only know life through struggle, and would not even begin to understand their life, just as they do not understand ours.

My father tells me that we fear what we don't understand. And he is right. They fear us. They fear our armies and our might, our massive horde. They are right to fear our power, crushing all that stands in our path. No matter if there are mountains or armies, and sometimes both.

Yet, I fear them as well. I fear their machines of war, their inventions and new metals. I fear for my lands and cattle, for my homeland against their expansion. I even fear for my culture. They wish to civilize us, make us similar to them. Abandon our ways, to take up theirs. To become...'civilized'.

I would fight them, only for this. My life is hard, yes, but it is my life. It is the only life I have ever known, and the only life I have ever loved. The feel of the wind in my hair, the smell of the steppe in the morning dew, the Blue Sky above me, watching me.

They will never understand.

They will never understand the culture of my people, the struggle that we fight.

They will never understand our honor. Our ways.

They will never understand our fear, or our power.

They will never understand.

For I am Lengel, and I am barbaric, uncivilized. I am the wind beneath the stars, the beloved of the Sky. This is our culture, and I will make them understand.

I'll send orders! :D :D :D :D

@jalapeno, I shall do it! When i have time.. :(

There are no White Mountains that you speak of. Those are the Dadong Mountains. None the less, we must decline your offer. Please do not expand down the Fei any further, thank you.

OOC: I think that sounds like from a biased Khemri... :)

I forgot to mention iggy, my friend aka thirrol is having difficulty accessing the internet. Please NPC her until further notice.

How many orders do you still need?

Iron, the most commonly used metal in Gorin, thanks to Lord Kaiser Rajo Oborski, who, despite what his advisors had said, continued on his fathers dream of being the most technologically advanced nation in the world. Who could even dream of achieving the hieghts that the Gorinese Empire had. This success was a self made one. It was thanks to the constant persistence of the Gorinese heart, and the blessings of Dula upon this great Empire, that had pushed it to such glory. Now...

“Damn it!” Mirand Olaroski screamed as he crumpled up his speech and threw it at his dog, who was now cowering in the corner and whimpering “This bloody “the Empire is doing great” is really just..”

Mirand stopped and stared at the dog menacingly.

“Stupid mut. Anso GET IN HERE NOW!”

Immediately the great oak doors of the governors chambers opened and in came a small little man holding a huge stack of scrolls in his arms, to many scrolls.

“Why is that bloody dog in here and where they hell is the iron and diamond shipment I ordered. I was supposed to get it two weeks ago boy!”

“Sorry sir, I sent the order but the iron is being diverted to Drago”

“And the diamonds?”

“To Gorin governor”

“Stupid bloody bearcats”

“Alright men heave! HEAVE!!! come boys put your backs into it” Danu yelled as 50 men pulled back on a huge rope that was currently hoisting the massive statue of Dula onto its pedestal. “Slowly now boys, don’t want to ruin all our hard work, im sure Dula here wouldn’t be pleased, since he will probably crush you if you don’t lift this thing, COME ON NOW PUT YOUR BACKS INTO IT LADS!”

A massive blast from of sound came from behind the General Rajo Ibramski (SKIII :) ). The general turned and scowled at the massive beast and then reached down and patted the one he was riding

“Keep calm Cuddles” he whispered “Oi keep that Ramid under control boy, this is the army, not the bloody parade”

“Sorry General” The Mahout said as he pulled the massive reins around his Ramids neck.

“Formation! GET IN FORMATION YOU BLEEDING IDIOT!” Yelled the Moosey captain as a few soldiers who were lagging behind the rest of the unit quickly got into formation. “If I catch you out of formation again I’ll gut you myself, GOT IT! Now march DOUBLE TIME! Maybe that will teach you slackers something”

A collective groan rose from the Moosey unit as they picked up their shields and javelins and begin to run in formation.

So ominous, Contempt.

@Kentharu and everyone else: I recently learned that iron is in fact weaker in virtually all aspects than bronze. The only reason iron eventually displaced bronze was because the collapse of the early incarnations of the Phoenician and Greek trading empires cut off the supply of British tin to the Mediterranean, Middle East and India. (In ancient history, 80%+ of all tin was mined in the British isles, even before serious civilization developed there.)

Iron is also much cheaper and much more common then bronze, so you can arm many more people for the same price.

@Contempt: I liked your old avatar better...

Kentharu said:
iron is, in its pure state, much weaker than bronze, but steel isn't

oh and iggy, empty your pm box

Steel of the type that is stronger than bronze wasn't developed until at least 400-500 CE and was isolated to India until around 1000 CE. We're still far earlier than that in the timeline.

It's not worth arguing about, though.
