If he was, he was fueling the fire under Gerber's xenophobia and encouraged hatred against Shalamari. I'm not sure, though, since that is at odds with being in a large and tight knit alliance. This goes for the xenophobia as well, but far more for the other.

EDIT: Er, Contempt. What about Shalamari? No reply?

Gerber will decide whether or not this war will continue, as they have lost the most.

What has Gerber to do with a peace between Shalamari and the Lengels? Or does the Lengelzai answer to Gerber, all of the sudden?

if you haven'y noticed already, the Lengel and Gerber are working together, it was Gerber who gave the iron tech to the Lengel.

a bit obvious in my opinion

true, although it does seem unrealistic that they would work together (also funny how the more recognisable neser's stick together)

But that has not been revealed IC, which is my point. For all I care, the Lengels don't even know that I am doing peace talks with Gerber, and I firmly believe the Lengelzai should talk for himself. This is not because I care about what he would reply. It's just a thing of principle. I am trying to negotiate peace with both, you know?

Very exiting update Iggy, nice work.

Tellium for one is glad to see that things may be settling down now. Is anyone still at war?

Tellium for one (among many) is glad that Shalamari is getting her ass whupped. ;) As for who is still at war, ask das. He apparently holds the key/dice now.

For the record, Kehexou and the Lengels had plans before Gerber decided to betray the CRA (though admittedly the betrayal was convenient, and allowed us to attack sooner than originally planned). Gerber just saw an opportunity for expansion. Contempt approached me because I had a way to attack the CRA from behind, something he needed if he was going to defeat them. And, of course, the Kehex hate the Khemri because they've beat up on us at least three times. It's been five generations since the Khemri installed the Mayanas on the throne, so any good will is gone.

The Citadel is pleased that peace seems near. As recent expeditions and discoveries have proved, peace is the natural state of existance for humanity, and the most desirable.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, but I figured you would go for Khemri instead. No real threat to me, but I did suggest we call off the naval assault (which would mean a tough going for you, I presume) but someone apparently overruled it. Or das sent orders for Khemri.

Hear, hear! I've been imprisoning peace movement activists for far too long. Uh, you didn't hear that, jal. :p

OOC: What are we going to do, invade you? :p

Well, all of my conversations with you happened after das's betrayal. He forwarded Kentharu's map and plans to Contempt, who passed them on to me. And, of course, a nearly defenseless Khemri was too good to pass up. Before that I wasn't entirely sold on the plan.

That said, I had a stipulation in my orders that I would only attack if the Khemri sailed, so I wouldn't have tried if Khemri hadn't attacked Lengel Davar by sea.

He passed on the maps? God! dont you people have any honour!

Well, good luck with conquering Khemri. You will need it. ;)

They've seen which way the wind is blowing. And I have no intention of conquering all of Khemri. Too many Khemrs in Khemri.

Iggy, can I have a final response to my PM?

From Tellium
To New Veritas

We have no idea what logic lead you to attempt framing us for your attack on Gorin or what you could have conceived our reaction would be, but let us state clearly that we are profoundly disappointed with your perfidy. Please make note that the defensive alliance we so recently signed is utterly void.

As for your consuls, a welcome is out of the question as they will be lucky simply to avoid the greater part of suspicion at this point. Still they will be allowed so that your representative may make an apology in person.

May truth find you,
Assemblum Popularum Tellium

From: New Veritas
To: Tellium

Excuse us? What gave you the intention that we had planned an attack on Gorin? Those merchants, One save them, were simply trying to acquire iron. As to why they flew your flag, perhaps they didn't want to be slaughtered for flying the banners of New Veritas? Still, our consuls wish to give an official apology to the insult on your pride.

May order lead you,

A.P.N.V.

If we have your promise that the colony will be turned over to us when we expand to the south, we will not have war.

You will have to describe this "honour" you speak of. :p As for Shalamari prior to the war with Gerber, the general attitude (cultivated inside the CRA, and a great deal due to Shalamari not suffering the ravaging fires of war) was "We NAP to betray".
