Moving is not easy business, there was little population growth in the unsettled populations and some people died from the harsher life that the migration caused.
INTRODUCTION TO NEO-CRYSTALLISM
"COLBAUTH D'ELGINN, ZHAUN VENORSH"
Written by Xuil Zhaunil, 12.1. 388
Praise be the Red Lady, she who grants us the finality and soothing embrace of demise. Praise be her Silence and those who prepare us for this manifest destiny. So know this, o Qual'Aen Jal:
Thy mind and body be united: Through perfection in the art of death do we understand tranquility, and by the enlightenment we meet the Silence in life.
Betray not thy word, for it shall rob you of the Silence.
Though Death seeks no moral, serve thy ethics well.
Grant those who fail no mercy. They shall only fail again.
As published in Colbauth Ultrinna (13. 22. 389) , by the Sage Naut'Nin. Salvaged scroll from a pillaged library.
Neo Crystalism is slowly going to develop into a branch of Crystalism that is not directly under the control of the Church (meaning Yath al'Shanaal). This is in accord with the Church itself, which sees it too dangerous and unnecessary to start a war over the believers. (The Church is the government, hence all believers are subjects) Besides, Yath al'Shanaal already fight that kind of war with Gorin already. No need to waste a perfectly sound alliance like that.
From now on, Neo Crystalism will be governed and described by Azash as a totally different religion. But the faith is basically the same, and there has been a tradition of respecting different styles among the Church as well, so it will not instigate a religious conflict, I think. Crystalism as it is now is pretty much just a bunch of shamans and village wisemen who have adopted the smoking of pot and hoarding of shiny crystals anyway. The Church as a government, however, is more like using the authority and span of the religion to levy taxes and administrate. It's quite clever, is stable, and it works.
