Live stream tomorrow (Febuary 17)

Well I hope it is them showing something new for Beyond Earth. I don't want to just watch someone play the game and talk to themselves. I can do that at home with a mirror and a gram of cocaine.

I truly hope that there is more to announcement than the cross-connectivity with starships

I remember in the last live stream there was a question to Sid about the connectivity and said something to the effect is 'you'll have to play it to see'. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but that caught my attention because that meant they were not giving details any time soon.
Which makes me thing it's not just the connectivity that they are showing. Hopefully.

So i rushed to my computer at 2 o'clock to catch the stream...only to watch some modded X-Com. All well, atleast it got me interested in X-Com again.

Look at page 1 of this thread. Something got mixed up and Civ:BE will be at another day (Today if I remember right)

Adding my name to the list of hopefuls that it'll somehow show or at least mention stuff about a new patch. I certainly don't expect any sort of DLC to be announced, but the Starships interaction sounds pretty possible and that would be very disappointing if that's all it is.

Yeah, I really hope it will not be an infomercial for Starships disguised as something BE related.

I doubt that it will have anything to do with starships. In Quill's announcement, he just said that he would be playing a game of BE with random settings picked by the viewers. Sounds to me like a just a regular BE let's play. Plus, Firaxis is already planning an official starships live stream tomorrow.

Well... that sounds boring. Maybe it's just me that doesn't get the concept of watching someone else play a game I can play myself. I watched yesterday's XCOM stream for a while and it was interesting at parts but I ended up playing SSB4 while it was on and later closed it so I could do something else with the rooms sound-space.

How boring, watch someone play a game. The guy isn't even that good. Who uses their solar collector immediately? I always save it until energy becomes a problem or at least until I can get 5 or more tiles in a hex worked somewhere.

Someone who wants to buy a Recycler asap. Making sure that building is up immediately in your first Expansion is worth way more than that few extra energy that you'll get by keeping the satellite. It's not always the right choice (if near a river, you'll have the needed amount anyway, or if you got a few energy ruins before), but considering that his starting position didn't really have any energy this is one of the situations where starting the satellite asap is probably a good thing to do.

Not saying that's his reasoning though. While quill is fun to watch he's certainly not "good" at either Civ 5 or Beyond Earth - but that's not what he's about anyway.

I don't understand why these "let's plays" were facilitated by Firaxis

Beaglerush and Quill18 are pretty good "you tubers", was it just to try and drum up interest and make some more sales?

So the Livestream was a bit of a disappointment then?

I actually had a lot of fun with both. I thought the XCom was really really good.
