LizNES: As You Like It

Just saw this NES :D. Assuming no other nation opens up, I would like to take over Daurni after the update. After the update because as I understand it orders are due today, and since I only skimmed the thread i don't feel confident that i could compose satisfactory orders, and an update will be a good benchmark from which to take over a nation.

Also, just a couple of questions TLK about this quite amazing concept for a NES:

-Is there any concept of a galleon sort of warship in the world?
-Are the large bodies of water on this map large/rough enough to be considered oceans? I am asking because its only a portion of this world, but i haven't quite been able to grasp the proportional amount of the portion.
-How much leeway will I have with developing a culture and religion in my nation even though I'm starting after 2 updates?
-Where is the world as we know it in relation to gunpowder? No knowledge at all, fireworks (after all, chinese used gunpowder for fireworks for centuries before europeans used it for weapons IIRC), naval artillery?

Not-classical technology belongs in not-classical era NES.

No, this is a classical era NES.

The peninsula is roughly the size of Western Europe. I can't say much about what's oceans, what are islands, and what is part of a larger continent.

So long as you stay within the established cannon, which isn't much, you can do whatever you wish.

-Where is the world as we know it in relation to gunpowder? No knowledge at all, fireworks (after all, chinese used gunpowder for fireworks for centuries before europeans used it for weapons IIRC), naval artillery?

No knowledge, as this is a classical era NES. Attempting to research it will also prove unsuccessful, as your people will really have no idea as to what it is.

Welcome to the NES. :)

For the background info of why I asked questions about Galleons, I recently read Safehold, which to get to the point of how it relates, a single nation creates a Galleon fleet and absolutely trashes the other navies, made completely of galleys. I sought to see if such an innovation was possible, but it evidently isn't. :)

ZD is that completely necessary?

Sent orders this morning.

No but it's fun! :p I was joking anyhow.. Plus you're no where near me ;)

Yes, unfortunately I am the only person in this NES who has that privilege.

Don't worry, we won't be expanding in your direction, but neither shall you be in ours.

The deadline has passed, and work on the update has started!

Apologies for not getting orders in last night, something came up at the last minute and necessitated me away from being able to complete them.

Taking my time* with the update, God willing it'll be up sometime within the next two days. You can still write some stories, or feed into the cannon and receive a bonus right up until the update is posted.

Checks small print "*".

A mob formed outside of the Bath. "What seems to be the matter, sir?" asked Jornos, a young ward of Manach asked.

"I don't know" replied the Scepterholder, "but it does not sound good." He gave three firm claps. The conversation in the Bath silenced as he turned his ear to hear the commotion outside.

"Update NOW! Update NOW! Update NOW!"

"What could they be screaming about, sir?"

"If it was up to me, the result of the war effort." Manach smirked, "However, if I was a useless proletarian whose vote is bought and sold, I would guess they want their tax cut."

"Charming, sir"

"Indeed." replied the scepterbearer "Start the music! They may cry all they wish, as long as their tears are used to refill this Bath's treasury! We have an election to win!"

I wonder if the nes will be able to take that crushing blow ;_;

Way to kill a fully thriving and living NES, badunoff :( wth guy.
