LK115 - prince- hated civs

I am surprised how peaceful these last rounds have been. I almost declare war on the Aztecs during my turns. The only reason I didn't is I like a bit of a breather between wars to make sure all troops are healed and to sneak in some buildings. Our economy is ready for a few Psycho cities.

Remember 10 turns per round. STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 hours to complete.

Win target: Domination (preferred) with conquest as a backup.

Removed outdated rule about game loading.

The following tactics are PROHIBITED:

There are no exploits that I am aware of at this time.

Standard LK house rules:
1) Automation of any kind is strongly discouraged until the game is known better.

2) A go to order is *only* allowed if you turn summary warns that it is happening and explains why. Sometimes it is just too important to make sure those reinforcements don't get sent to the wrong place.

3) Please complete your turn. At most the next player should have one unmoved unit such as a settler where you are unsure of its direction.

4) Don't edit your game results into a got it post. There is *no* notification of new activity. I have had SGs stalled waiting for a person to move, when the already did.

I did some long thinking what to research next.
Is it worth to go for 2 (useless) techs for only a GP?
Also Theocracy hinders spreading other religions and
we own 1 shrine. The Aztecs have another one.
I'm not a big fan of lumbermills.Workshops already give 3 hammers and
to get a health point you need an even number of forests in the city radius.

Pre-turn 1750 AD
Start to research Communism.

1760 AD (2)
Declare on Montezuma.
Genghis Khan will join the war for Military Tradition,I make the deal.

1765 AD (3)
Start the attack on Texcoco.A small Aztec stack shows up at Thermopylae.
Lose a cavalry.Cavalry kill grenadier + 2 longbows.

IBT 1765 AD
Aztec stack attacks Thermopylae.Kill 2 cavalry + destroy a catapult.
Lost a grenadier,pike and cavalry.

1770 AD (4)
Lose 2 suicide catapults.Kill 2 muskets,3 cavalry and destroy a catapult,
stack near Thermopylae is gone.

IBT 1770 AD
Capac wants Scientific Method for Constitution. No deal, although our cities
suffer +2 war weariness and +2 emancipation penalty.

1775 AD (5)
Kill a cavalry and destroy a catapult.
Cancel the banana deal with the Incas.

1780 AD (6)
Capac researched Steam Power.

IBT 1780 AD

During my turns I noticed the Hindu temples give 1 gold while
the other religious temples give no gold. This is the first time
I've ever seen temples give 1 gold.Still I don't know what causes
the state religion temples give 1 gold.

Still I don't know what causes the state religion temples give 1 gold.
IIRC we build the spiral minaret that gives us +1 gold for every state religion building. We should also be getting this bonus on Hindu monasteries.

I did take a look at the save, but we're getting nothing from monasteries.
(Maybe because we already researched Scientific Method.)

Inherited Turn:
Washington is growing into unhappiness and works an unimproved tile. I some specialists.
*enter*

2
Aztecs kill a cavalry in Tlatelolco. I almost lose another cav, before i know the attacker out.

3:
We get another great prophet. *sigh* Oh we canstart a golden age. We could also build another shrine (Taoism). Since Taoism is more or less a one city religion, i decide to go for the golden age.

4:
Steel comes in. I go for steam power next. Railraods will help us so much.
We take Technotitlan.

6:
Kahn offers sugar for crabs. OK.

7:
The game chrashed during turn 9 and i had to go back to the last autosave.
Our cavalry in Tenochtitlan successfully defends against an attacking cavalry.

8:
Lose an City defender 2 Grenadier to a cav and a Galley to a galley. Oh well, we can take it.
Destroy an Aztec horse pasture. With any luck, they'll be reduced to infantry now.

9:
Monty offers peace for cash. We lose a cav to a cav. We also learn Steam Power! Going for railroads next. Rails will be so good for us.
Our catapults sweep the +85% defense bonus of Teotihuacan away without effort. I send two suicide catapults in for good measure and then attack.
We take the city without further casulties. There was a great prophet in it, but unfortunately we can't caputre those.

Notes:
- I hate the screenshot feature of Civ4! I pressed the damn button 4 times
each time i wanted to take a screenshot and got... NOTHING!
- Washington has serious happiness issues. We are talking +8 war weariness. This is why i am producing longbowmen for cheap military police there.
- Likewise, Phily needs MP or it'll starve.
- We have to decide where we want the Globe Theatre and the Ironworks.
- Our only coal resource is near Texoco.
Enjoy! Beating up Monti is fun. :)

Well we don't have to take out the Aztecs in one round. I am confused why we serious happy problems as we should be able to up the culture slider to deal with it.

Upping the culture slider would mean less research. (Well we could up it one notch) I'd prefer to have some cheap military police instead. It would help our power ranking as well.

We also learn Steam Power! Going for railroads next.

Well,we researching the same techs as Capac.
Also his power his quickly growing (see power graph),this
doesn't surprise me.The Incas always grow fast in power once
they reached the industrial era.

I already had the crazy idea to decimate Capac before Montezuma.
We can gain a lot by killing him.Ok,it gets bloody, but our main rival
is gone.

Ironworks goes in NY -- I believe that's been the plan all along.
As for Globe, my guess would be to put it in the city with the highest population potential. Although if we are still running Hereditary, we may not even have to worry about it.

LK, are you playing soon or want me to play in the next few hours?

If you can play it in the next few hours, then go for it. I am 24 hous at the least.

ok, got it

save

Pre-Turn
change some builds, NY goes for ironworks and Sparts goes for Globe Theater
increase lux to 40% temporary
trade with Huyana, give him sci methods for constitution and 420gold
since nobody has democarcy, change research to that

1. 1822AD
take gaul for the loss of 1 Cav
get democracy (that Huayna has now) and corporation for 2 techs
get rifling from Khan

2. 1824AD
capture Tlexcala
fail to take the offshore town, maybe we better make peace now to get an instant drop of WW
increase science to 90% and astro drops to 4 turns

3. 1826AD
start shifting units towards Napoleon now

4. 1828AD
zzz

5. 1830AD
shifting of units to the east

6. 1832AD
we get a new source of iron, Huayna changes to vassalage and theocracy, is he preparing a war?
he is still not willing to give up RR even for 2 techs
go for physics in 6 turns

7. 1834AD
zzz

8. 1836AD
moving units

9. 1838AD
all ex Monte cities now online, but Gaul goes straight into a Japanese revolt

10. 1600BC
we will get physics in 2, then maybe go for assembly line
we do have quite a few units at the French border now
LK, decide whether you want to attack France, we can also pull in someone maybe

ironworks will be done in 3, Boston is on 2 turn Cav's
Sparta will get Globe Theater next turn and then needs some helth measures
we have several uni/observatory builds going on.
Due to the multi religions we have, switching to free religion might be a good move

Capac will probably change to pleased.
With our armies in the east and Capac in a Theocracy + Vassalage,
our core cities will be an easy target.
I haven't seen a friendly civ declare on me,but a pleased Huayna Capac will.
I've learned my lesson in yesterday's game where he was pleased, but send
out his spies 10 turns or so before he declared war.Man,those spies were
a huge pain in the butt. They kept on pillaging the most important strategic
resources and I couldn't do anything about it.(Scotland Yard wasn't build yet)

Stationing regular troops on the resource tiles reduces sabotage success chance.
