LK127, Monarch, Vikings, Hub Map

Hatty and Jules have plenty cash (see above), Vicky less so.

You can tell whether we've been beaten to Philo by checking the Taoist symbol on the research menu bar: it was still there when I finished off, but I wouldn't be surprised if you get the FIDL message before our GS is done. Academy is a decent alternative use for our GS, so it might be worth the risk.

The Foreign Advisor's technology screen looks different. There were also "faces" next to each leader name in the score box. There was also the name of the civilization each AI leader is leading after there name. This has to be a mod. Or is it a new patch for Warlords that most people don't know about?

Are we playing one of the HoF mods?

Anyway another fifteen quiet turns of falling further behind (but are we downhearted?).

350ad. Turn 0.

Settler two turns from completion, maybe go to hammer city site.
Some cities still have no culture or easy way of building any.
Our score and power remain pathetic.

More everything required.

May be able to trade CS in a few turns to pick up machinery and feudalism.

Virtually everyone has a different religion.

No screenshots worth taking.

Summary:
Our score and power remain pathetic.
For now all we can do is to keep filling out our hub. That alone will help with power. With having CS, we should bring irrigation down to our southern military city. That will produce military faster, and we need that above all.

Settler two turns from completion, maybe go to hammer city site.
Another source of eventual military sounds good.

IMHO we should head toward drama quickly, so that we get build theaters, and let Lakeville whip military like crazy. Sooner or later we will get into a war, and we aren't close to ready.

Greyfox uses a non-gameplay-affecting mod. It might be RuffHi's Cobbled mod, but I'm not sure.

GS in Nidaros. With Taoism gone I leave him in Nidaros.
The GS should always found an Academy immediately if Taoism is gone. No need to leave him hanging around.

@Lee - Hatty has Drama. Maybe we should take a break here and all look at the save and put forward suggestions as to a gameplan? What do you think?

I still see us in the expansion phase trying to secure our hub. The biggest thing is we will need some courts soon. I am not sure if we can even secure a game plan at this point.

I think your Vikings:)viking:) should just fix your economy now, rather than expand further. Can anybody explain your strategy here?

@Swein: Expansion is more benefitial in the long run. It doesn't make sense to stop to improve our economy (which would probably put us even further behind)

@All: Got it

575 AD - Scientist merged into Nidaros. I remember Lee's pet peeve about leaving great people for the next turnset. We should probably plan what we want with them for the future.

605 AD - Great Merchant born somewhere

620 AD - Settler finishes, moved to Hammersville spot

635 AD - Great Engineer born somewhere

650 AD - Drama comes in, I begin Machinery; Julius converts to Taoism; Great Library BIADL (GE)

680 AD - Roskilde founded @ Hammersville

770 AD - Machinery comes in (Berserkers!) - Without knowing what to research, I begin Paper

785 AD - Cyrus demands Machinery, I refuse; Angkor Wat BIADL

- The CS Irrigation Line is under construction
- Several theatres have been ordered up and will complete during the next turnset

There wasn't anything interesting enough to take a screenshot of.

You had me worried for a fleeting moment there. You used merged in the sense of 'builds Academy', I see :p

Plan wise, errr, we need one. We're a bit aimless at the moment: I'd favour peaceful expansion starting with that rice/fish/stone site to the south then filling in the lesser sites of our hub (oasis/coast and gold/corn), but I'd like to get some use out of our UU, too.

There are some fog-busters in between city culture which are useless, since border culture allows us to see one tile beyond, which means the entire region within our empire has no uncovered tiles. These fog-busters from an ancient time are now only costing us money stationed outside our borders.

Speaking of which, I never knew barbarians has a motherland. :crazyeye:

I pop-rushed 2 granaries, and chop-rushed a theatre in Mycenia. The theatre is then whipped at my last turn (Sorry, I normally would not whip at my last turn, but I didn't notice it was my last turn until I whipped and glance at the turn counter).

We got paper, I headed for printing press. No one wants to buy our World Map, not even for 20g. I don't think we can fetch anything susbtantial with paper in trading. But when printing press comes in next turn, we should be able to get something nice.

There are 3 religion spread into our land, making us holding a total of 5 out of the 6 founded religions:

I am hereby putting forth the proposal of a cultural victory for the team's consideration. To that end, I am starting a few monasteries for spreading of religions. Anyway, monasteries give 10% beaker boost which is good considering we are financial.

I have the barracks built in preparation of the whipping site (Globe Theatre).

I have one settler built, it is heading towards the south. Its escort (a sword) is already waiting at the edge of our southern border. I've also started one berserker.(edit: reviewed my logs apparently not )

I can't understand why the Heroic Epic/Globe Theatre combination is so popular. What I would do is build the Heroic Epic/West Point combination and (probably) put the Globe Theatre with the National Epic.

And what is the DEAL with Slavery? Popular slavery among players sounds cruel!

I am hereby putting forth the proposal of a cultural victory for the team's consideration. To that end, I am starting a few monasteries for spreading of religions. Anyway, monasteries give 10% beaker boost which is good considering we are financial.

Since LK126 is also going that way, I am not in the mood for cultural again.
