LK140 - Trying emperor

@Lee - I don't think the cathedral is worth it because of weakness of culture on the diagonal. A better bet would be to spread Sushi there and keep it on units.

The island oil is connected by a fort, and the worker is there in case any improvements get destroyed.

I think it should be rather Sishi and Cathedral. The Indian cities there are srong.

Could a spy sabotage a fort ?
(otherwise, what the purpose of not building the well, as it is in a city BFC, so it could be worked -one day- for more hammer)

afair, we have another oil resource connected (fort in the middle of our lands), and 1 not connected (on a mature town), so we could live with 1 source temporary sabotaged

@Jabah - I may be wrong, but I think the oil is 2 tiles on the diagonal and thus not in either BFC. Yes, all improvements can be sabotaged and the worker doesn't have anything else to do anywhere else.

Seems to be in the BFC

Very good. We've only just traded in combustion this turn so the worker can be woken and start on the oil rig.

 Why was the worker sleeping when there were still tiles missing rails?

Things are going well, and we finished Christo and Rock'n'Roll this set. We are also building the Eiffel Tower, due in three turns. I spread Sid's to 4 cities, but we need more to finishing the quest. The GM went to Egypt, and I spent some of the money on cash-rushing improvements on the island. Still lots of money left, so perhaps time for another round? I also switched from BUR to FS to help our border cities win the cultural border wars against Asoka and Lincoln.

We got one GS, and since we already had one GS in store I decided to use him to build an academy in our second best science city, Lagash. It didn't make much of a difference in research speed so it may have been a bad move  Sorry about that.

I got some fish from Asoka for free :D, and researched Plastics once Industialism was finshed. Plastics will done next turn, and I suggest 3GD using the GE. In the last turn we got our first tank, and the first destroyer. I also retired an out-dated vulture.

@yena - is there a save in there somewhere?

New Updates
Our only aluminum has a windmill on it. :( Can we please mine that tile ASAP?

Once again I am going to ask that we get better defenders to our islands. While we are back to fifth in military, I still feel open to attack.

It is time to use our GE to insure 3GD.

Roster
Signed up:

LKendter
Swiss Pauli
Yena
Refar (currently playing)
Jabah (on deck)

Remember 15 peace (including phony wars) / 10 heavy war turns per round. STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 hours to complete.

Win target: learning toward space.

Planned wars - None

i got it...

I had a look at the save and have the following comments:

- next Sushi exec should go to Kish, where we're still losing border struggle;

- why are we trading out gold for fish? Gold is a mining inc resource. Surely it would be better to trade Oil to our friend Asoka?

- we should flip into BUR if we want to build 3GD in Uruk (though we can get it in Eridu pretty fast anyway.

- best to check Hammy for WHEOOH as he's the only AGG civ. We can find allies against SB, but not against Hammy.

- Refrigeration should be next (for Supermarkets) as power from 3GD will hammer health. Then superconductors and Genetics after that.

 I thought we got free Hydroplants that came with no pollution penalty.

Yes, the plants are clean, but there still are 2 :yuck: from just having power in a city...

Elektrosmog i guess

Oops, you've got a point there. The 10 turns should be up, so the deal can be renegotiated by Refar.

Lurker Comment:

Nice game you're having here guys, but it's really hard to follow the course of the game because of the horrific lack of screenshots.
