Ok I will and the roads are supposed to be a little hard to see lol

That's cruel to those of us over 50! :-) Seriously, it can distract from game play -- I find I'm moving workers to already made roads.

Best wishes,

Ok, my son came back from college and played this all weekend. He was very impressed!

He said he wanted to post a full report when he got a chance to play some more, he hadn't played enough to make real comments. But I will give some observations.

First, one GREAT thing about these mods is that they can appeal to differnt players. My son isn't much of a CIV guy, but he is ranked in the top 3 in the country at Age of Empires playing on-line, and many other games. I felt this would appeal to him, and it did. Good background, more of a slugfest, and fast!

Some specifics:

He asked, 'If the Balrog can't move, why does the 20 attack factor mean anything?' Maybe he is right? However, he came up with an idea -- he put the Balrog in an army with an Uruk-hai, and then it could move! I wasn't sure if this was an exploit or not!

He first played as Mordor (random choice). He won the game easily -- he captured the ring and won on turn 17. He had already taken Minas Tirith, etc.

He then got Rohan, and gave up after a bit. Maybe with more experience he could try it again he felt, but it seemed tough (at least for a first time).

In his third game he has Gondor, and it is a nail-biter. Its really great.

It seems to me that you really need to add different difficulty levels.

Anyway, he really had a great time.

Thanks!

I am glad he enjoys it!

Yeah the Balrog had 20 attack because i wanted to make him look really powerful but not so powerful that no one could kill him, so i thought...and i came up with the idea of giving the balrog a lot of attack, and since he was imobile he couldn't use it. But yeah, that was an error of making the balrog being able to load into an army lol. But the revised edition should have all of the kinks and such out though lol. Unless ofcouse you liked that idea lol.

Ohh yeah, I am also looking foward to that report ;) too.

And if you see anything that you think should be changed feel free to tell me.

in the revised version:
have 2 biqs. one for mp, and one for single player.
in the mp, have all good guy civs seperate, so you and your friends must co-operate.
in single player, have only one civ playable, and locked alliance with the other civs, so you can have all the civs, only you can control them all as one.
thats how its done in the napoleon scenario in conquests with the brits and italians.

no, i've recently played a singleplayer napoleon england-fused-with-italy game with NO alterations done.

Ooooo, cool mod. I got a Q tho, since i havent downloaded it yet. Why dont you make the area around shelob's lair Landmark Mountains, and change it so that only hobbits (and gollums) can go through the LM mountains? Also, if you decide to give the fellowship to one civ, then you should make a special army called 'the fellowship' and have it hold 9 guys, the fellowship. Youll have to make them all weaker, but it keeps them together, and they fight as the group they did. however, this makes them unable to go near cirith ugnol, but thats why youre the creator not me. If you can figure it out, kudos to you. Keep up the good work.
BTW, ROTC, what college u at? Just curious, cause im goin for the NROTC scholarship at University of Michigan.
Semper fi.

Yea i know this is my third post in a row, but oh well. I just thought, ive seen other maps or mods with their own "soundtrack" available to download. You just suggest they turn off in game music and open up media player, and listen to youre soundtrack. For this mod, you shoudl definitely download the "Lord of the Rings" symphony from the USAF band website, its free, and it kicks major butt. Its not the movie soundtrack, this was written in the 80s for a composition contest, and is a wind band composition. Just a thought.

No, if you go to teh Conquests section, it has the single player version, with the separate civs. In the civ-content section, there's a napoleonic scenario, but it was designed for multiplayer (Hence the name, MP Napoleonic Era), which has combined civs.

Hi i like this scenario ,i played with gondor and lost on victory points(turn22) i dont know why.My characters died in the begining and i lost my most western town. Do you get vp for killing characters?

It would be awesome with a scenario based on silmarillion slaughtering ballrogs with Feanor:D

This also happened to me. I played Elfs. Rohan, Gondor and Isengard were destroyed, I was just catching up to Mordor, but Mordor won in 75th turn on victory points. Few turns before we all had 0 VPs. Why does it happen?

edit:
I like the mod very much. Two favorite things in my life, joined together :)

They won by victory points when they got the ring and returned it.

Thank you.

I thought at first that the ring was captured, but I tried playing with Frodo, just to loose the ring A.S.A.P.
I lost the ring, but nothing happened. It never cross my mind that it has to be returned. :) ...to Barad Dur, right?

Im playing it right now and I was just wondering why no easterlings civ?

edit: and also who are these invisible guys attacking me?

p.s.s. Aragorn is a fool for trying the pass through Isengard

No, to Mount Doom. (I think.... Never actually was able to get Frodo anywhere near Mordor, but it's the most logical place that I can think of....)

Instead of an Easterling civ, Mordor can build Easterling units. And teh invisible people attacking you are hobbits.

Well, Sauron is in Barad-dur, right? He is the one who wants to get it, he doesn't want it anywhere near Mount Doom, at least according to the book.

Theodan should be a mounted unit imo and also try playing rohan, its crazy isengard gets like 20 urak hai every 5 turns.

everytime im not gondor, mordor completely rapes gondor in 20-30 turns

why can't ents attack cities...i mean they did destroy isengard and all.....
