LuckNES: The Continuation BT I
Years 350-1150
Well I am back. As I promised the BT update is here. But let me tell you that I will try harder this IT. Of course this update may not be what you consider the best or longest in the world but. It is an update something a lot of mods have a hard time completing.
Holy Empire’s and Holy Wars
In our little cradle things have change over the last 800 years. And yes many wars have been fought. But none as devastating as the Holy conflicts between the Tensiri and Cradilon peoples. The two fastest spreading and most dominant of all early religions have spread to nearly the entire cradle area. All nations have been effected except the Hassanites. The Cradilon peoples Taigonism is the dominant of the two at this current time. But the Tensiri followers are not to far behind. With the lines drawn in the earlier 400’s the first war began. The Temple, a holy city and capital of the ancient Tensiri state. Was under siege after a many year conflict in the Holy Valley. Finally the Tensiri people retreated over the mountain and into the lush grasslands to the south. This war was the first and largest of all wars in that time period to be fought over religion. But this defeat only helped to spread Tensiri and over the course of the next 200 years they formed into a new Empire one which rivaled Cradilon at the time. The second Holy War began and was not fought just between Tensiri and Cradilon. But other smaller countries were dragged in to fight for there sides. As the religions had spread and influenced many people by this time period. The Doridan Confederacy joined sides with Cradilon in the war on Tensiri, which soon brought in the Hoggonogr, whom was a large powerful states whose King had converted many years previous. This huge war lasted over sixty years before a treaty was signed. The battle lines were moved great distances. At one time Cradilon was pushed back to there capital and Hoggonogr the same. Doridan was dropped out of the war in the last years when it was completely over ran by Hoggonogr forces. But was liberated by a considerably large army from Cradilon and also due to the fact that war weariness and political change was happening in Hoggonogr. The former king was overthrown and replaced by his nephew who was against the war. But Tensiri fought on for the next few years against Cradilon in the solo battle of the titans. Eventually a conclusion came in the war when Tensiri forces were destroyed in the mountain passes on their way into the Holy Valley. This cause Tensiri to ask for peace and thus the current borders have been instated. The state Earion was formerly a Taigonism minority area of Tensiri and most of the lands in southern Doridan were handed over by Hoggonogr. But this wasn’t the end of the conflicts in the area.
In the year 708 the Hassanites formed once more into a massive army and moved against the Taig Alliance. With great early success they pushed deep into the lands of both Doridan and Cradilon via Viking like raids from the Great Lake. For over eight years the fighting continued. Some historians say the great land battles fought on the coasts of the Great Lake had armies in the numbers of 100,000 thousand and greater. The Battle of Rock Face which takes place in the mountain ranges north of Mergon, Cradilons captial. Had the Hassanites army with over 500,000 men. Nearly over whelming the Cradilon forces. But there limited technology and lack of general military competence from the leaders. The Hassanites lost nearly all there army. When the war was one three new states were setup on the border of Cradilon. Mericona, Darigan, and Terigon.
Jungle Wars and The New Continent
After the Second Holy War between Cradilon and Tensiri. The Tensiri changed focus from the North to the South. They expanded wildly. Spreading their religion to all the tribes they found and even to the Konarai. They absorbed all tribes to the coast. Making themselves quite the large Empire. But once they got there they met a unfriendly group of people. The Sayitia, the worshippers of the Snake Goddess. They were warmongers. But something the Tensiri had not seen before was they were dominated by women. All the jobs men would do in the Tensiri culture were done by woman in theirs. To make it worse they wouldn’t convert from their heathen beliefs. A short but bloody war began over coastal lands and the women of the forest failed to win. Pushed back and forced to adopted the religion publicly. But they still worship their old goddess in private cult like gatherings which soon may cause the Tensiri to begin another crusade against the heathens.
But after the war was won and the coast was free. The Tensiri began ship building and realized they were really good at it. The people seemed to craft boats of superior durability and speed. So naturally they began exploration. The waters were soon being charted. At first only the coastlines, traveling many miles along the coast finding lands the people knew nothing about. The world was getting larger. But soon a land in the far south was discovered. A land they soon found out was teeming with new wildlife and plenty of timbers and other natural resources. Like their beloved iron. When they got there and setup camps for lumber and iron they soon found the Qu-Ac peoples. A primitive people who similar to OTL native Americans believed the Tensiri were gods. It is only know that their ancestors traveled via island hopping at this time as that’s what their dominant believes and legends are about. When the Tensiri had started communications with these new natives. Everything was fine. Until they started sharing foods. The Tensiri had gained some mild sickness like throwing up and breaking out with sores from some of the foods and bugs. But the Qu-Ac got it far worse. They started dieing of disease relatively fast. They just couldn’t handle what the Tensiri could. And it showed. Thousands died in weeks and months after discovery. But the Tensiri tried treating them with their medicines but nothing could be done. Now a small population remains along their home river. Tensiri managed to convert the population, or most of it over a couple decades. But by the time the people stopped dieing from disease it was almost to late for them to recoup. But only time will tell if they survive or not.
Warlords of the Konarai Tribe
In the early years the war like peoples of the Konarai tribes pillaged and destroyed all around them. This carried over for many years as a tradition for the men to go off and fight wars. Slowly this type of warfare changed into a more traditional style as land began running out. Though they began falling behind in technology in the later centuries. When the Tensiri arrived and helped them along when they converted it really helped them. But before that they managed just fine. Conquering tons of lands in the areas they had rampaged over for centuries. One of the more noticeable things they did was domestic horses and cats. Horses had long been a luxury of the men who tamed them. Now they were common place. The Konarai are known now for superior Calvary and also the cutest kittens in the cradle.
Doridan, Religious Battleground
As explained earlier Doridan has been invaded and fought in a couple of wars over religion. What I didn’t note was their war on the Hassanites. Or at least I don’t think I did. To lazy to look to be honest. But yes the Viking like raids of the Hassanites began in Doridan and devastated them. They were more successful in this war than the Second Holy War however. Major battles ranged from 15-35 thousand men. Death was not as high for the Doridans as the Hassanites. Possibly due to the courageous efforts to prevent occupation again. Or just that they are really good hard trained soldiers. Which ever sounds better in a movie.
Economic Depression and the Sonn Trade Routes
In 987 the economy began to collapse for no good reason. It just started to go downhill. Possibly due to shortages of gold and other precious metals or the fact that the mod was running out of ideas. Anyhow it began to suck. And even Tensiri was hit hard and almost ran out of money to fund its colonial exploits. Then a small nation named Sonn which had risen to be a semi average sized nation. Made a discovery. Tons of gold and gems in the mountains of its heartlands. This of course allowed them to buy weapons and food and all kinds of things and helped the rest of the world get back on its feet. This might of course make Sonn a nation that will be attacked for these said resources. But that’s not up to me.
Hoggonogr, No Good Title Name
Well I already told you the main bit of the Hoggonogr history. Warring bit. But lots more has happened there. A literal people driven King change. Took place at the end of the Second Holy War. And it was the bloodiest civilian uprising in history. But it brought good times to Hoggonogr. Trade increased and religion prospered. Lands of the former Porisma in the north of Hoggonogr, were captured in the early years of the 5th Century. But were turned over to Doridan after the Second Holy War. Other conflicts that have happened was the River War with Forcharda in the early 400’s. Though a short low casualty count war. It began the expansionist phase for this nation and it really grew to a large extent. Making it one of the top nations in the cradle. With one of the top militaries. The Hoggonogr army is most known for its siege warfare. And the use of siege towers. Even though they master these weapons. They are rarely used in combat as not many cities are walled up. They just test them out on there cities in military training. Just incase.
Mod Notes
Well I think I covered most of everything. So. I may add some stuff in here at a later time. And probably will once I get stats and new rules finished. Comments please. Also this update wasn’t my best I know it wasn’t don’t worry. I will work hard if you do.
