Update 2:
Year 1907

Emperor Napoleon V

North America:

The American-Mexican stand off seems to be cooling off and the two governments join, with Quebec, in a research cooperation pact. As the first complete designs of the US versions of the Goliath Battleship go into the hands of the Mexican and US shipyards expected to begin construction for next year. Other battleship designs and information are also exchanged between the three parties.

In Mexico a growing problem, that Mexican authorities are pinning on a growing United Workers Party, begins to surface. At one of the many rallies held a few spectators are threatened and beaten by thugs working for the party. The cause of this beating is believed to be refusal to join. This whole thing could be a misunderstanding as police still are in search of more information relating to this act of violence.

The US, Quebec and Mexico all receive larger quantities of immigrants from Iberia.

Work on the Nicaraguan Canal continues but serious problems begin to occur. No delays yet but disease threatens many of the workers.

Similarly with Mexico, Costa Rica, Cuba and Columbia all see growing communist parties, albeit smaller in comparison to the Mexican party.

South America:

Tensions grow between Dominion of La Plate and the Empire of Brazil as troops movements and defenses are constructed.

Ecuador manages to calm the coastal regions from the year previous riots.

Europe:

Great Britain goes through a year of vast spending on rebuilding, unbuilding and people building. In a sense, changing some of the problems that had taken place in the industrial zones for decades and trying to fix them with better hours, wages and healthcare. This works to some effect but has not dented the vast number of safety concerns for both people and the cities alike. Across the empire many key colonial ports and major cities are being prepped for industrialization on the scale of European cities.

Iberia goes through another hard year of conflict. Madrid responds to any major threat with ruthless military action. A slack of outside funding, from whomever was opposing the party and its new government, only causes more pockets of resistance to fail beneath the growing Workers Army. Concern over the safety of peace in Europe is coming to an all time high.
(Madrid Consejo -2 Divisions, - 3 Militia Divisions, +5 Militia Divisions)

Prussia, Finland and the Hellenic Republic sign a treaty forming the East European Protection Pact. Which along with helping to even out the French alliance and Russia, is a trade agreement which begins to help some of the industry in Prussia.

Bavaria and Switzerland begin research on improved electrical understanding. Promising cheaper power supplies to the people.

Denmark and Sweden, the Neutral Research Fund, continue to show strong trade and technological boosts.

The Kingdom of Italy is the first nation to put thorough research into Air Ships.

Russia in an attempt to catch up in naval technology with it’s rivals in Europe and abroad has put vast amounts of funding into Goliath battleships. The starving working class shows protests in St. Petersburg and Kiev.
(+2% Dissent Russia)

Africa:

In French Egypt a growing Islamic group has begun causing issues with the local troops. With skirmishes breaking out all along the Nile and countryside. They call for the formation of a free, theocratic Islamic Egypt.

Asia/Middle East:

Japan, Manchu and Vietnam form the Greater Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere, dominated by Japan. It is a military and technology driven alliance. Japan still remains and expands its dominance over the industries in both countries and growing control in China.

Australasia continues to garner immigrants from around the globe, helping to boost the economy.

Spoiler World 1907 :

Good update they don't need to be long to be good.

I know I can make them long and drawn out but there is no point. I am aiming for longevity and players having fun.

EDIT: They will of course get much longer during war time. :p

Great update! *rushes off to support Egyptian rebellion*

Only problem I can see is that I had, at one point, gotten Hungary into agreeing to join the EEPP. If you check your PM's, I'm sure its in their some where...

Also, the updates are coming at just the right frequency and length, so keep them coming like they have been. :goodjob:

Lucky, why is the Sweden-Denmark fund only at 12/25, not 16/25?

Actually, I was going to only receive Basic Battleships from the agreement. But I'm not objecting to it.

I'm going to openly question the logic of Prussia giving away all its trading ports in Asia, so that it has free trade with Japan. Whom it can no longer trade with, because Japan owns all the Prussian treaty-ports. Napoleon's moustache must confuse his enemies.

Anyway, this is what I get for voicing my intention to become Socialist to Luckymoose. I've got some work to do. *organizes Freikorps*

Lucky, can you PM me the results of my elections?

What's also interesting is the lack of reaction from Prussia nationalists over this loss of face, militarists worrying about reduced influence in China (very strategically important with Prussias Russian worries), and business community loosing their holdings and control.

Unless the government gave some convincing reasons a lot of people should be rather unhappy ;)

Not true, mostly because of some plans I am not necessarily willing to divulge at the moment. Essentially the trade will continue at a normal rate because of these plans if they move along properly.

Also, it is not all of the ports, just the northern two. The southern one will go next year when my plans go into action and the Empire of Japan upholds its end of the treaty.

China is a weak nation at the moment, and Japan is on the rise. By supporting Japan instead of attempting to influence China (which is already mostly influenced by Britain), the Prussian Union gains a valuable ally in any war against Russia as well as striking a blow against British over-seas power.

Also, because of Japan heading its own alliance in Asia, it makes even more sense as this does, essentially, put the EEPP in cahoots with the Greater Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere.

All of this most likely means little to the nationalists, but the government is more than capable of coming up with good explanations for its bartering. :D

I already got rid of the order PMs.

Unfortunate. I will simply talk to Hungary again, I am sure they will "re-sign" the treaty when I speak to them... ;)

It is idiocy to make such clear lines, even more so to write them.

This is not idiocy, for two reasons:

1) This is one of the Prussian Union's government's rationalizations as to why they gave away their treaty ports, not reality or something they have, necessarily, told anyone.

2) I am relying on other people to stay IC no matter what I write about actions that I took in the past.

See? Hopefully you do. Number two may be classified as idiocy, but only if people start acting OOC.

A rationalization is pointless unless you use it to convince the general people/interest groups of X, Y or Z, and thus it will get out, and the British will worry over it. And stating you striking against British power does put all the lucrative prussian african colonies on the line.

one problem I see with the alliance is thanks to France holding bits of Eastern Russia Japan and Russia don't share a border

not saying it wouldn't serve its purpose but Japanese supply lines would be easily broken
