LuckNES V

I am tingling, I am curious as to how my invasion of Spain is progressing.

This NES is dead. I knew it before I even joined. The proof is in Luckymoose's signature!

the NES needs 2 weeks before being called dead, this may be an inconvenience but its not dead per se

it is, I'm just outlining how long a NES can go without an update before its labelled dead

There have been several updates that took weeks to finish and the NES was not dead :p. It is dead when the mod says it is or no one is playing.
On that note, Farow, how's your update coming?

it is, I'm just outlining how long a NES can go without an update before its labelled dead

This is undoubtedly a steppingstone you should include in your timeline, no?

Update 5:
Year 1910

Bulgarian troops prepare to charge a Romanian defensive line.

Americas:

Strong movements of brilliant and gifted individuals to Quebec, mainly caused by the war and its expansion, have caused many of Quebec’s schools of higher learning to expand and have some of the best professors in the world. Most notably is the work by a young Spaniard named Felicio Hernandez in the fields of aeronautics. Some early prototypes of his designs have given some astounding developments in stability, speed and maneuverability to his aircrafts. He still has a small team, but continued funding from Quebec has helped him on his path.

The large scale introduction of mass production in North America has shown benefits to the entire area.

Mexico, even going through a miniature industrial revolution of its own, has growing conflicts with the ever expanding United Workers Party. Many bandits and other such criminals in the California and other northern states have been robbing stores, trains and other such establishments with claims and sometimes proof of connection to the party. These actions are keeping the more populated areas truly against the party but the outskirts see it as a heroic battle against the capitalists. Working closely with China, with a large sum of 100 million pesos the Mexican government gives out valuable new technology while spending the money on expanding the navy and launching the first Goliath Battleship, named Tlaloc after the Aztec god of water. The government announces a new constitutional amendment cutting the number of presidential terms to one, while expanding the term length to six years.

Theodore Roosevelt, seeing the possible problems of a Prussian controlled Russia, pleads with congress to join the war effort and fight the Prussians for the safety of American overseas possessions. After many months of flip flopping the declaration of war is made. Seeing a quick victory is at hand, he sends a large invasion force to capture the Prussian colonies of Cameroon and South West Africa.

In fear of possible world war, Brazil focuses on gaining a foothold in the aviation club.

Europe:

Fighting in Iberia carries on as the French win several key victories over the Consejo, gaining plenty of territory and knocking the effective offensive force of the Peoples Army out. As the combat carries on in small skirmishes in and around smaller towns the French are claiming victory, the population continue to take up arms and fight the occupying French. The Portuguese cry out for independence, and are taking serious steps to cease hostilities while other parts of the country remain under the command of powerful former party members and generals.

CASUALTY LIST:
French Empire: 6 Divisions, 1 Artillery Brigade
Madrid Consejo: 11 Divisions, 3 Artillery Brigades, 9 Militia Divisions

The Eastern War becomes the Great War as UK, USA and France all join the side of Russia, Hungary and Sweden in the fight against the Prussian alliance. Also sparking the war in Asia as Japan holds true to the protection pact and opportunistic tendencies.

The Prussians in an attempt to make a more defensible stand, pull back and used a scorch earth campaign in the northern reaches of the front, working relatively well in slowing down the Russian hordes. However the introduction of transportation trucks among the ranks of the Tsar’s Army kept this from amounting to much. In Finland the Prussians withdraw with the Finnish royal family. Allowing for the quickened defeat of the remaining and surrendering Finnish military. (- Finland as a fighting nation). The Swedish take over command of most of the country as the Russians move troops to fight in the vacuum that was created by the Prussian retreat. The Prussian navy barely made the rescue of troops before the surprisingly joint British and French navy arrived to clean house.

As the Russian, Swedish, British and French navies joined up for a spectacular hunt for the Prussian goliath battleships and a massive coastal bombarding. The Prussian navy went into retreat and hid at port while the Allied fleet crushed the remaining Finnish and scattered Prussian task forces.

On land the Russians push into Romania as the Hungarians and now Bulgarians make gains. Romania’s capital has been captured and the navy, expanded with a goliath battleship, escapes to Greece. The Prussians make gains against Hungary but the French begin a massive, unstoppable push towards Berlin. The stretched out Prussian army has no way of defending the fronts but a large conscription has saved Berlin for the time being. The French manage to push in Jutland.

As the year comes to a close the fronts in Europe are stable while the seas are dominated by the allied navy. Finland has been defeated and Romania is on the brink. Generals in Prussia begin to lose hope and could be on the verge of turning against their own government to save the army.

CASUALTY LIST:
Prussia: 13 Divisions, 8 Cavalry Divisions, 7 Artillery Brigades, 16 Militia Divisions, 5 Battleships, 12 Escort Groups, 30 Light Vessel Groups, 2 Submarines
Russia: 20 Divisions, 1 Artillery Brigade, 1 Battleship, 6 Escort Groups
Romania: 5 Divisions, 1 Escort Group
Hungary: 7 Divisions
Bulgaria: 2 Divisions
France: 9 Divisions, 3 Escort Groups, 9 Light Vessel Groups
Sweden: 3 Divisions
UK: 8 Escort Groups, 3 Light Vessel Groups, 1 Submarine

The Italians launched the worlds first military Airship. (-4% Dissent)

Africa/Middle East:

Various British and American invasions plagued the scarcely defended Prussian colonies. Getting near victory in all of them. American forces, being outdated in modern warfare and equipment had some hard times but pulled through.

CASUALTY LIST:
America: 2 Divisions
Britain: 1 Division
Australasia: 1 Marine Division

The Muslim Brotherhood takes advantage of the reduction of French troops and expands the cause and fights the remaining local garrisons. Gaining victory and a larger support base.

Danish Congo builds several new mines and factories capable of using the materials, saving money and increasing export power.
(+1 Private Enterprise)

Asia:

Word reached Japan quickly about the declarations of war by the UK, France and America against their allies in Prussia. The perfect opportunity to capture valuable ports and islands in the Pacific to gain the advantage. British and French cities in China were the first to be captured, and with little garrison it was a rather easy task. American Manchuria and the invasion of Russia came next with again little resistance. The harder invasions were of British Singapore, Thailand and Borneo. At sea the Japanese had a surprising lack of naval conflict, with the main British and French fleets far away in Europe. Some small skirmishes resulted in minor casualties for both sides. Vietnam and Manchu joined the war and similarly had easy early advances.

CASUALTY LIST:
Empire of Japan: 1 Divisions, 6 Light Vessel Groups
Britain: 1 Division, 3 Light Vessel Groups
Russia: 2 Divisions
France: 1 Light Vessel Group
Vietnam: 1 Division
Manchu: 1 Division

Excellent Update! :goodjob:

To Portugal
From France

We shall grant you independence if you swear allegiance to the French Empire and become our Vassals like Italy.

To Consejo Spain
From France

Surrender now and your people will be spared. We will only accept an unconditional surrender. Spain will be annexed into the French Empire until France decides what to do.

To Prussia
From France

We are sorry to break our word, but we feared that if on the off chance that Prussia actually did win, we would face a more powerfull Prussian army. France did what it could do to protect itself. We apologize.

We chose to stay away from your African holdings as a sign of respect and once Berlin falls, the people will be treated kindly and all buildings will be protected as best as we can. If you happen to be in the Palace when Berlin falls, you have my word as Emperor that you and your family will not be harmed and that you are allowed passage to Paris where we shall dine.

We accept.

TO: French Empire
FROM: Madrid Consejo

We demand Spain be released, even as a vassal, under its own constitution and allowing the Consejo to continue to govern her.

Emperor Napoleon V was dining when news from the frontlines arrived, he grabbed the papers and headed to his office where he sat down on his chair and began to read:

Emperor, I am happy to report to you that the campaign in Spain is going tremendously. We have captured many key cities and locations, they are effectively beaten, all that is left is to negotiate their surrender. In other news, I am proud to inform you that your armies in Spain are now veterans and know how to utilize the artillery. Their accuracy is uncany and many Spaniards flee before the first salvo is fired! I congratulate you on building such a fine army. You have my evermost loyalty, sir.

General Alphonse Dubois.

Emperor Napoleon smiled as he shifted to the next letter:

Emeror Napoleon, the French navy has encountered the Prussians north of France, in cooperation with the British Navy we have crushed them! Despite the fact that I have failed on one of my orders, both goliath battleships are still afloat and hiding, I apologize my lord, but our plans were thrown into dissaray with the arrival of the British fleet, but I shall hunt down these Goliaths even if it means death. For you my lord, I will follow these ships to hell itself if I have to.

Your loyal serveant, Admiral Alexandre Laroche.

Emperor Napoleon shook his head and muttered, "The ships still floats, I may have to find a new admiral." He went to the next letter in his pile:

Emperor Napoleon, your armies perform well, despite the fact that there were little resistant, your armies advanced in happy spirits and we were able to make great distances in short times. I bow to you my Emperor, you know how to raise an army. We are 2 miles from Berlin and we can see the city in the distance, our artillery are setting up as we speak, but they will not fire until you give the word. I am setting them up in hopes that it will scare the defenders into surrendering, your soldiers are now impatient, they want a fight, but I await your orders.

Your obedient General, General Francois Moreau.

Emperor Napoleon beamed, he always liked to hear about his fine army. Finally he began to read the last letter from Asia:

Emperor Napoleon, I wish you success in Europe as I can only offer you failure, our cities in Asia have fallen to the Japanese, and as I write this letter the Japanese soldiers are on their way to arrest me and imprison your soldiers. Perhaps in time you will reclaim your cities, and free your men and no doubt crush the Japanese, I am afraid I will be dead as I will never spill any information about your army locations and naval bases or anything else they may want. The secret of France in Asia will go with me to the grave. Viva la France!

Your loyal governer, Henri Renard.

Napoleon dropped the letter and moaned, Asia has slipped out of his hands. He stood up and clenched his fists, "We will take back what is ours and crush the Japanese! They must learn that France is the true ruler of the world! Not those heathens." He rushed out of the room and gathered his coat and ordered that the carriage be brought out.
With the carriage ready, Napoleon got in and told the driver to head for the war department.
