Mad Scientists Nest generation RPC Summary/Bullpen

Tough luck With Jefferson Mad. But it was great the way you just carried on and came second in everything

Re. vassals for Askia how about you can have them if you want, but nobody else can. You should do everything you can to break up vassals/masters throughout (loose rule), any DOWs must always be against a vassal master if there is one you can reach (firm rule), and there must be no vassals except yours, at the end (firm rule). I imagine that would make it interesting for Askia not to be able to always pick on the weaklings first.

Somebody probably already suggested it but you could restrict yourself to one unit per tile for some extra Civ 5 flavour. Maybe that's just silly though.

As with all RPCs, it's the fun that counts and old Thomas Jefferson was certainly fun to play.

I like your idea of the vassal master, within limits (I am not going off to war in China becaus ehe's Wang's master). But given choices, I say let Askia him the vassal master first. Also no Vassal masters are left at the end of the game, and I will keep Domination open as an option. That rule will make the later game rather interesting as Earth 34 maps can get dull near the end.

I envision Askia as a ruthhless thug who takes control through brute force.

The single unit per tile just will not work here, and aside from a few screenshots it's not going to translate well into the story end of things.

I do love following your games madscientist. I am a recent lurker on these forums and it has helped my civ IV immensely. Actually I never understood the game properly until recently. Now that I have bothered to actually find out how to play I have completely destroyed my free time. This has to be the best game ever. I don't even have the inclination to try ciV. Play on!

Rome, All or Nothing where I had to vassal rivals only after Fuedalism to avoid a Pratorian Rush. The first RPC on my new computer thus why I went after a huge map!

Im sorry mate, i dont think you got me on the right note, the goal is not "All or nothing" its more like "unifying everyone under the King of kings (again; after Alexander came and ruined it all :p )" Getting as many subjugated tribes/vassals as pausible...

but, i think its better for you to make the RPC idears so you dont grow all mad at them, its meant to be fun :D

McThomas, not sure what type of game your thinking of, I thought the Caesar game was like you decribed.

Nevertheless, we shall have a world unification game anyway.

Look for the Songhai Empire soon, today is my last work day this week!

Because the Asika RPC is almost over, I thought I might share my RPC ideas with you.

Ramkhamhaeng the City-State Vassal Lover!

You would play as Sury of Khmer and you would have to shower Vassals (not their masters) with gifts, help them with their quests (change civics/religions, declare war ect.) and generally be nice to them, all while trying to win a diplo victory!

Purger of the Heathens!

You would play as Monty or Issy and must destroy every city with a religion in it other than your own!

I would do them myself, but I am a bit nooby ;)

The vassal idea makes no sense. For one, other vassals will not vote for you ever and everything you gift them will just go to their masters. I just don't understand the logic behind that idea.

The Purger of the Heathens idea actually sounds cool, but I think Mad did something not unlike it not too long ago with Brennus.

How about an RPC with all normal settings & victory conditions, except that you're not allowed to build workers or work improved tiles, ever. :mwaha: nah just kidding I have no idea if it's even possible I'm sure no one is mad enough to do that :mischief:

How about one where you can build a new city only after having built a wonder? So, 2nd city can't be built until you've build your first wonder, 3rd city until you've built your 2nd wonder, and so on? Not sure about capturing . . .

Because Raky is stupid he thinks that all Vassals are CSs! So he showers them in gifts so they will do the same thing back. Or something like that. Oh, and the Raky idea should be on a Earth 34civs map (for more vassaly goodness ;) .)

The Purger of the Heathens idea actually sounds cool, but I think Mad did something not unlike it not too long ago with Brennus.

Did he do that? Better read up then.

:D

Well I do need a bit of a rest after that grueling Askia game. The next RPC is decided and it's not a leader mentioned yet. Think 2010 news.

Definately either an espionage based game where information "leaks" to you or he could do a straight beeling to computers, rush the internet and then have everyone else's information "leak" to him. But things will be tough, usually in espionage games you'd adopt nationhood. However, given that you're Julian Assange, surely you HAVE to adopt free speech??? Also, there should be a restriction that you can't build boats. Reason: Too many leaks!!!:lol::lol:

I prefer to call it WikiCivilization, but yes you hit the nail on the head!

[pimp] Awesome idea, Mad.

I can't wait to see how you play this one. Australia isn't a Civ in the unmodded game, and the Vikings (Swedes, et al.) don't really work flavor wise... India? The Mausoleum gives a +4 :espionage: & +50% :espionage: bonus, and it would be a country technically without jails, which Mr. Assange would surely love.

I view Julian as an espionage guy, a pacifist, and a socialist. So I am looking at

1) Philosophical and perhaps Financial, Organized or protective (defensive purposes). Thus Liz, Fred, or SB.

2) I like India as it has a peaceful UU and a UB geared towards espionage.

3) Civics will definitalely be limited. Emancipation, FR, FS, SP and US. All others are out.

4) No starting wars, although he can manipulate the powers that be to go to war and of course he can defend.

5) Wonders should be limited to the Great wall.

6) Great Spies are used for Scotland yard only, and we must cut science to 0% at alphabet.

7) No specialists except spies.

8) Victory is preferably the UN but we cna accept Space.
