Mad Scientist's RPC summary

Seams like there are as many unsure ideas as I have.

So I am going to put more of a different angle on the game, moving away from the Washington RPC.

The Amazon Queen!

Large Pangea Map, 12 AIs (the dirty dozen!)
Domination is her only desire!

The Sisters: She must try and form the Amazonian league of women. Thus she can open borders and trade with the 4 ladies (Isabella, Victoira, Hatshepsut, Cathy) and cannot declare war or be hostile towards them although she can defend herself if need be. She MUST answer the summons for war from her sisters and cannot refuse a military request (unless against another sister). If another Sister attacks her, she may vassal them but NOT destroy them. If vassaled Boudica must lift up their dignity so she must shower them with gifts and techs!

The Hated Men: Randomly selected 8 other leaders (by default all men) who must be destroyed by the end of the game. Onyl exception, if a sister vassals one that is her affair and Boudica does not care what a sister does with her pets! She can never trade or open borders with any man!

So ther you have it, A cramped Pangea map for the game's leader with the best military traits (with all respect to Genghis and Tokugawa) and some severe trade limitations.

What do you all think?

You should probably stick Elizabeth in there. (yes, two english leaders) Won't be the same without her.

What happens when a male vassels one of the sisters? That male must be destroyed or at least allow her to break free.

But of course! The men need to be killed anyway!

One thing I really dislike is 2 leaders from the same civilization. We had Liz in teh washington game, let's give Victoria a chance. Besides, she looks more like a Bulldog warrior than Liz does!

You could do unrestricted leaders just for her, I'm sure she wouldn't mind ruling America or something. :p

But that's okay, your game, your preferences.

While I am battling the gods in the current RPC, I am thinking of the next one.

I would like to revisit Peter the Spy Extra ordinaire one final time to focus on the espionage economy (EE) via the slider rather than the settled GSpy as with Mao's second game. I have gotten a good feel for utilizing espionage and want to see if it can truely carry a game.

Map: Big/Little although I will ask someone to make sure we are NOT isolated and have at least 2 other leaders we can reach via land (off shore espionage is harder and would not showcase the EE as well).

Do we want to preselect leaders and which ones??? I am thinking a mix of warlords and techers: Shaka/Ragnar/Montezuma and Mansa/Willem/Darius

Rules:

1) Only wonders that produce GSPY or GM points are allowed. My thinking for the GMs is the GLH and Colossus both provide extra commerce which feeds into the ee game. If we pop a GM that's extra gold allowing us to up the ep slider, however the GM can only be used for a trade mission.

2) No scientists can be run (exception is the UB), only spies, engineers, and merchants (we still need gold regardless of the economy).

3) We tech normally to alphabet but must reasonably beeline it (meaning before math/currency/Code of Laws but we can deviate to iron working and HBR if need be).

4) Once we get to Alphabet we completely cut the science slider off. While the first Peter attempt was a total failure (it did this) and the second we were competitive (phased ep slider) I think the full blown ep may be the best. One issue, perhaps we can wait until Code of Laws to up the slider which is mandatory to be teched after alphabet (or what unlocks it). Another issue is we cannot be first to Communism for the free GSpy but I think for the interest of the game this is OK.

5) Great Spies must be used for Scotland yard.

6) Utilize civics that BEST help the ee at the time. Obviously nationhood. FM, SP, or merc can each benefit the ee at certain times. Representation and it's free beakers is out.

Other than that, all military/diplomacy/victory/trade options are open.

What does everyone think?

Replaying Peter is a great idea, mad. But I suggest you allow Gspies to be settled. They can really make a huge difference. O, and you should obviously try to build the Gwall.

Actually, when you are focusing on a EE via the slider, tons of EP is already created, thus its more advantageous to use a GS for a Scotland because of its 100% increase feature. Plus, it only takes 6 EP and a Scotland Yard to match a settled GS's output.

Maybe all financial leaders so you can steal techs like crazy and not have to focus on military as much?

Finally, maybe add a rule that you have to get an simultaneous attack on all the cities with one of the espionage missions? That would be so awesome.

Just a note, all saves from GREED!!! and earlier have been deleted due to being over the save game minimum allowed. If anyone wants a save from those earlier game let me know and I can post them as I have the saves at home.

I can put a link to all your saves on my online storage if you like too. I have lots of space.

Good deal, I'll keep that in mind!

An idea for the next. second next, thirthieth next...whatever...RPC.
Title: Bismarck the Unificator of Germany
Mapscript: Pangea
Extra rules: Bismarck MUST capture every city with 10% ore more of German nationality, Bismarck can't have vassals, Bismarck can't capture any city with less than 10% German nationality, Bismarck MUST win by UN.
And, madscientist, congrats for that excellent RPC series!!!

Thanks for following the RPCs!

My view is to not repeat leaders unless it's to win after failing teh RPC, like the recent Peter. Bismark was the Master Builder, so that it!

Not sure what the next RPC will be, but probably one with potential more warring options as teh Zara and Peter games have been very peaceful.

Perhaps DeGaulle the grand unifier of mankind! Or something laong that way, a noble endevour, not butchering the French like Louis and Napolean.

oh go on, butcher the french again!

the Izzy one offers a lot of warfare potential and the hydrophobic Hannibal one will have to have a bit

OK, I decided I am going with teh Darius idea. A strict Hammer economy! I am not saying we have to build research (but we can if we want) but are basing our game on a massive food and production game.

1) Darius' workers can only create farms, mines, workshops, lumbermills, watermills, and of course resources. NO cottages

2) Darius is limited in specialists as follows: He can run a GP farm as he sees fit. He cannot adopt representation. He can adopt gaste for the workshop hammer bonus but cannot run the extra scientists except in the GP farm. If he "has' to run specialists they have to be engineers and priests. Also merchants may be run to simply keep the econoym afloat. but note, this is NOT a SE game!

I am thinking of a Big/Small map with low sea-levels to max out land for production (and try and avoid the isolation start of the Brennus game). Also perhaps a rocky climate may be favorable here!

Play style and victories would be open to anything, but I have a vision of war and glory! Especially after getting pushed arround by the gods in the Zara game and relying on sneaky espionage in the Peter game!

So the farm/hammer economy, what do you all think???

Caste System + Guilds beeline makes for some very strong workshops, you can essentially put mines on flatground whereever you can feed them! And once you have chemistry, they become like railroaded mines, way before railroads are available. A very nice if not situational tile improvement, I'm sure you'll put them to good use.
