Mafia/NOTW Statistics

I still can't figure it out, so I'm going to make the official ruling of "merciary, Methos, and Ekolite survived, everyone else died," because while some of the innocents survived, I can't for the life of me figure out who they are.

Updated to Night of Blood in 2009. It's late here now, and I'm going to bed. It's a good stopping point- The database now has reached 20 games, and it has reached the last game before the arrival of ATPG changed Mafia and NOTW forever.

I've compiled the statistics of most of the players up until this point, ignoring only a few that I know don't meet the 10 games requirement and haven't been around in forever. Heck, even then, it includes some that probably don't meet the requirement and never will. I also have the "Best of" statistics for players who played at least 10 of those 20 games, which includes several that are both hilarious and hilariously out of date. Probably the most interesting is that of the 10 people that played at least 10 of those games, almost all don't play regularly any more, and some haven't been seen in a couple of years.

If you want, I could post those tomorrow, although I'm not going to bother formatting them correctly until I finish the database completely.

Border of Life definitely wasn't a mafia victory. The wolf team won, but was pro-town, so the surviving innocents also got the win. The badguys, on the other hand, were clearly defeated. Not sure how you'd rank the dead innocents, though.

the arrival of ATPG changed Mafia and NOTW forever.

While ATPG had a dramatic effect on Mafia at CFC, his influence hasn't changed NotW much at all. If anything, he's taken influence from NotW for his own games, rather than the other way around. Frankly, other than the players, I can't think of much that's changed about NotW since DE brought in the mini games.

Anyhow, keep up the good work. :goodjob:

The dead innocents in Border of Life definitely didn't win (I remember one or two not being all that happy at our failure to vig you), but they didn't really lose, either. Maybe a draw, if that's a category? If not that it would almost have to be a loss, though.

Surviving innocents did win, as explicitly stated by Chandrasekhar. Both "real" mafia factions explicitly lost.

Yeah, that was confusing as heck.

Going by what Chandrasekhar said, I'll count it as "the Living innocents and the not-actual-wolfs won whether they lived or not, everyone else lost" and list it as an Innocent Victory.

BTW, thanks for stickying this, mods. :goodjob:

All Mafia games that ended in 2009 have been added. Moving on to 2010 now.

:goodjob: choxorn.

One word of advice: The character limit on CFC is much lower than on the ORG, you won't be able to stick all the stats in the same post. The limit is 30,000 characters per post, which seems a lot, but it's not if you use a lot of formatting. My current post on the ORG is about 177,000 characters. :p

You might want to use post #1 to split things, or reserve more space for later.

Thanks. I guess I could always ask the Mods to move one of my posts to #3 or 4, or something.

Updated up to the 7th MNOTW game.

The player statistics for the time period of June 2008-February 2010 have finally reached more than 20 players with 10 games played, although there still aren't 20 that have been mafia at least once and played at least 10 games. A couple don't have any games as mafia despite playing a ton. Love played the most out of everyone- 22 games in that period- and was innocent in every single one (except Court of the Momus, in which there weren't really any innocents or mafia), for instance.

I've also found some of the player statistics to be either funny, weird, or both. The one that may be both the funniest and the weirdest is Winston surviving more games than anyone else, both as a total and as a percentage (7 games out of 13).

Aah, that's why they always kill him on Night Two!

I just reached NOTW XXXI. If you're wondering why it's a "Neutral Victory," it's because I counted everyone as Neutral for that game.

My arrival.... changed mafia forever? :(

I feel like I'm the bringer of a plague!

Don't, it was a good change. Feel not like the bringer of a plague, and more like the bringer of giant mechs with energy swords and laser cannons.

Updated to Siege of Evermore. I'm now at Mini-NOTW 7, and trying desperately to figure out who was a scum and who was a townie.

The Court of the Momus?

Good luck with that. Several of us acted like mafia, while others acted more like townies. But that wasn't really defined by our roles, so much as by our personal inclinations to be naughty or nice. (I was very, very naughty.)

Ooops, wrong game. I already dealt with that one by just making everyone neutral. I'm at the 8th one, Tragedy at Calue Hill.

I think technically NOTW XXXI: It's a Long Story was won by the mafia, despite the intertwining factions all against each other. My faction was really the only one set out to destroy everyone and claim absolute power for himself. Excellent job thus far!

That's true, you were more mafiaish than anyone else, but it still seems more consistent to count everyone as neutral in that game, or any game without definite innocent and mafia teams.

On another note, Tragedy at Calue Hill is still confusing me. A little help?
