This was a question on the political compass,
read into it what you will and answer it.

Here is what I took from it and voted on - trying to cause political change within the current structure (not outright revolution) is an important part of growing up.

I agree. Not from a normative point of view, but just because I notice that, with the years, I become more and more moderate.

It all really depends on what that establishment is.

I went somewhat disagree, but then again, I work for the establishment now.

Some "establishments" do not deserve peace.

"Making peace" as in avoid open hostilities and don't voice your opinion too often and too loudly but try to screw them over whenever you can get away with it ?
I agree.

Making peace doesn't mean I like the establishment nor that I cease working against it. It merely means I accept it exists and don't have my life revolve around fighting it.

This is one of the bad questions on the Political Compass.

This is the way I saw it. When I thought of the question I thought of the hippie movement. You had a lot of radicals that were all about free love, and no war, and in some cases these were extremist terrorists. However most former hippies have moved towards a more moderate viewpoint, and have, to quote the question "made peace with the system".

That being said, I responded "agree", but not strongly in that if the establishment is truly oppressive, then hell no you shouldn't make peace with it. (Then again, what is oppressive? :crazyeye:)

Disagree completely. Agreeing with the establishment just because it's the establishment is beyond stupid.

Probably the worst worded question on that quiz. Open to many interpretations, and most people will interpret it to justify their existing poltical leanings.

"Disagree" I've never understood the whole "compromise = maturity" line of thought, especially given that I was generally taught it in a room containing a small wooden representation of a guy nailed to a cross because he refused to compromise. Catholicism, it emerges, is ever baffling.

I live on handouts of the Establishment (for the time being), so it's kind of hard for me to rebel against it. :p Anyway, the question is ambiguous, since whether you should rebel against a system depends on the system; rebellion for its own sake leads to anarchy, and all but one poster here agree that any system's preferable to that. ;)

This. Couldn't have said it better.

 Relax, mr. Boot Camp. I will start 'work practice' next week (the gov. will pay me 30 € / day for mail delivery. Ofc I also get other benefits already.). And I study for admittance exams all the time, that will be held this spring. It's kind of nice actually, since I can focus on my studies instead of working like a dog just to support myself. I tried to pull myself up by the bootstraps once or twice, but, alas, I fell on my ass... I wonder why that is? :mischief:

That was my parody of a Republican, I have no problem with welfare.
