Marijuana legal in Canada?

You're high and you are technically a criminal and you get lung cancer and age quickly and liver diseases, etc. It's very unhealthy and being high is a waste of time when you could doing something constructive or something on the intertubes.

Man, if I had enough weed, I'd let you smoke it. You clearly need it more than I do.

People who make negative remarks about weed often didn't smoke it even once! So how can they tell? Maybe if you exaggereate the usage of marijuana in your daily life it might affect your fitness, physically as well as mentally, but just smoking a doobie at the evening news one time a day won't kill you.

I haven't jumped off of any tall buildings lately but i know its bad for you.. Ditto being shot, raditaion posining..ectra...Sorry, nothing against you weed users...this sentence just stuck me as stupid.

@Mowque: Please, do not jump from tall buildings, I'm begging you! People's intentions why they're doing that is to kill themself. My intention to smoke marijuana is to have a good time. Also, usage of chronic never ever killed someone, and that is definitely proven.

ah, but i didn't say it was deadly. I was merely saying that because i havn't experianced something doesn't mean i can't discuss it.;)

@Alpine Trooper: I'm moving from Belgium to Canada, even though I'm actually from Germany. You have to understand what the motives are to settle in your land. I lived in Aachen for the most time of my live, but after High School I couldn't find a job or hold to it for a long time, so the government literally forced me to move temporarily to a foreign country to find there work. So here I am, living in a cheap flat in the suburbs in Brussels and working as a prison guard. I'm surely not complaining about the folk here, they're really nice and easy-going people, but it's really hard to get a grip on the Dutch language they speak here. But my idea to leave Europe alltogether has ripen throughout many years in my early adulthood and now there is finally a settled date when I'll be going there. I really love the fantasy of smoking pot, having a well-paid job and chilling in the backyard of my apartment, viewing some mountain range in the distance:lol:. Yeah, so basically, much love to every Canadian in CFC and see ya in the future!

I've always wanted to leave Canada and live in Europe. I hear post secondary education is free in some countries... :)

As for you current job as a prison guard, I know you'll be relieved to leave that career far behind. :D

When you are visiting Canada? Getting a job isn't necessarily difficult here unless you come to my city or St. Johns Newfoundland.

And remember, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. It can be orange, brown, green, and sticky.

Probably at the end of '09. And actually I have been looking to move in the Toronto/Montreal area. Going up too much north would be unbearable for me because of the cold, and don't you call me a wuss! And all the English you see in my posts in this thread are just the result of ardent study and patient practicing to prepare myself for the big leap. So you can see that I've been quite a while on this project of mine and it's realization.;)

The caveat being that if you're going to discuss it, know what you're talking about. Otherwise, people like me and other smokers will call you out on your errors.

It always amuses me when non-smokers bring up the propaganda du-jour about cannabis.

"It makes you grow man boobs!"

No, it doesn't...moron.

Spoiler :
I am not implying you said the above statement ;)

Don't forget purple!

I'm going to NOT write my anti-weed rant...why, hardly the point of the thread, . But yes, information is important before someone dives off into debating things...

The intristic question of this thread has long been answered ago. No, weed isn't exactly legal in Canada, but just a jerk who wants to test his limits will ever get offended by a police officer (like puffing in the face of one). What's actually the name of the "King of Pot" (or whatever his nickname is)? Any Canadian here can answer me that? You know, the guy who always gathered hundreds of people on the street and smoking ganja in front of public buildings in every major city. Didn't he got his butt arrested, by Americans? A normal guy like myself just want's to smoke sometimes a bowl, in peace and silence, not trying to make some point.

His name is Mark Emery and he is the leader of the Marijuana Party.

Mark Emery was arrested for selling marijuana seeds to the United States. Mark Emery owned a seed business. Canada ILLEGALLY extradited him to the United States.

That's something I didn't know. Well, selling marijuana (or something in that matter) to a nation where it's clearly prohibited, is just darn stupid! But, seriously USA, wake up! Forbidding pot and putting a smoker to the same level as a murderer or a child molester is not going to lead you anywhere! Mr. Emery is a guy who simply violated the US laws and therefore he's not sitting in the big house. By law, it serves him right to be there, exploiting and undermining the laws of a particular nation for your own sake is wrong, but in the first place, this law itself is just garbage. Cross marijuana posession from Criminal Code and let police chase real criminals!

And those are...? However you decide? careful of going down that road. ALL laws should be questioned but don't be so glib about changing laws..;)

He currently faces extradition to the United States. As of January 14, 2008, Emery has agreed to a tentative plea-bargain with U.S. authorities. The terms of the agreement are a 5-year prison term to be served in both Canadian and U.S. prisons.[5] In return, he is demanding the charges against his friends Michelle Rainey and Greg Williams be dropped.[6] On March 27, 2008 the plea-bargain deal collapsed because of the refusal of the Canadian government to approve its side of the arrangement.[7]

Also, he wasn't selling marijuana he was selling marijuana seeds by mail order to customers in the United States. He knew exactly what he was doing and I congratulate him.

Watched it, loved it!:) Yeah, but consuming and selling seeds in your own country is no offense whatsoever but making money with them in a country where the cops will haunt you and therefore the people have no fluent supply of it (so you'll gain really much money) is not smart. IMO, don't extradite him, he should be judged by a Canadian court and by Canadian laws.
