Mass Effect 3

Will Legion still have the same... memories? If you can even call it that.

And yes, I was deliberately trying to get her killed. I got Jacob to loyalty because he was simply a soldier and not a real Cerberus slave, but dear god I hated Miranda. I didn't do her loyalty mission and I sacrificed her to save the crew on their trip back to the Normandy on the Collector base.

Pretty bad when I'm more upset of a Geth's death than that of a Human :mischief:
Spoiler Legion spoilers :
Legion will not have the same memories at all. Destroying Legion also makes it extremely difficult to achieve peace between the quarians and the geth.

As it seems right now, peace between the quarians and the geth can only be achieved if you meet most of the conditions for it. Apparently there's a point-system scale, but there's some disagreement as to which actions get which points. Destroying the heretics instead of rewriting them makes peace easier. Having a loyal Tali - not exiled, no evidence used in the trial - is basically a prerequisite. So is resolving the Tali/Legion loyalty conflict in ME2. There are also some missions you need to complete in ME3, like rescuing Admiral Zaal'Koris vas Qwib-Qwib and destroying some geth fighter squadrons. The way I've heard it, if you rewrite the heretics, you have to complete those ME3 side missions for peace to be possible, but once you do, you get more war assets on account of the geth being stronger.

Miranda really changes her mind about Cerberus when you go through her loyalty mission and if you bring her with you to destroy the Terminator. If you bring her with you (a good idea anyway because of her passive, her ability to use the Tempest, and her Warp, which is excellent against Collectors) and elect to destroy the Collector Base, the Illusive Man will try to force her to stop you from destroying the base, she'll refuse, and she'll resign from Cerberus. I never had a problem with her. Also, dat ass.
Spoiler Miranda spoiler :
If she's alive, the return to Horizon in ME3 acquires a lot more meaning. I mean, it's already a pretty sobering mission, but having her there to confront her father really gives it oomph. Plus, she gives you the location of TIM's hidey-hole. You can probably also get that information from Jacob - we're not sure yet. But still.

Where are you getting your info from Dachs? Some guy with a blog that got one of the hot balloon copies?

Leaked script, Space Edition players, and some people who've gotten the game early via a Wal-Mart cockup.

Since you already know so much about the game and I'm disinclined to run into spoiler minefields in a search for gameplay info, do you know if there'll be a new mechanic for the mind numbing planet scanning and probing which inevitably evokes a crushing feeling of utter futility and reminds me that I'm wasting my life with videogames without being the least bit entertained ?

Stop posting spoilers before the game is officially out damn it.

Apparently you must have the Promthean character for the proper ending.

If you dont have uh thingy (read sex) with it before fighting the final dark spawn boss Shepard dies. This is so that bioware can make a crappy prequeal which everyone will hate.

Rumor has it that there'll be some Male Shepard / Garrus lovin'?

Does that make Shepard a "turry"?

Who's gonna be up at midnight tonight for the game's release?

Anybody know the timezone that BioWare operates on? I'm on EST (-5 GMT). BioWare's located in Alberta, Canada, which is in -7 GMT, so I'm assuming that ME3 is going to be released at 12am by that standard, which means 2am for me. Sound right?

I put them in freaking spoiler tags for a reason.

Try this video. I apologize for inflicting you with IGN, but it does show, whereas I would be forced to resort to telling.

ME2's scanning was pretty boring, yeah, but it was totally optional. (So, incidentally, is this system in ME3. If you want, you can ignore looking for war assets entirely; they don't make up that much of the total, and you can very easily make up the difference by playing multiplayer.) If you wanted to research every upgrade possible, you still didn't have to do that much scanning anyway, and that was only if you had some sort of mental block that prevented you from using the Gibbed save editor to just gift yourself thousands of any given mineral. The only reason scanning should have gotten the amount of venom it did was if you actually had to physically scan every planet in the galaxy and extract ALL THE MINERALS until every planet read "Depleted". Which is, apparently, what a lot of the idiots who piss and moan about the scanning actually did.

Nope.
Spoiler Romance spoiler :
You can start an s/s relationship with Kaidan, though.

It's timezone locked. You get it at midnight EST.

I watched one of the endings it seemed pretty bad to me (Shepard also looked like Obama).

Anyone reading the Cerberus Daily News Report?

The Batarians are getting their asses handed to them by the reapers.

(not sure if this has been covered, if so, ignore)

How many of you guys are playing with savefiles that have the perfect ending? No teammates died, the crew lives, etc? I made a few mistakes on my playthrough of ME2. I lost the crew, Mordin, and Thane. I was tempted to go back and save them all, but I figured it would be kind of neat to play through the consequences of my failures.

I hate missing out on content so both of my saves do not involve losing any crew or teamates (although my renegade didn't always save people). I will do a run through (probably in a year) where I intend to screw up as much as possible, everyone dies! (Although that does mean I will have to replay the ending of ME2 twice so I can import the save into ME3 with Shep and minimum amount of crew alive).

Or you can make a new container save, copy a save state from another game (preferably right before the suicide mission), paste it to the new container save, and save it as a new game.

So you'd basically have two identical games, but one where people die, and another where people live without having to replay the whole game.

I think I've became kind of an expert on editing Mass Effect saves, if you need any help. :)

Upgrades?

You misunderstood me maybe, you start a new game, save immediately after prologue mission, and put it on usb->computer, take the save file from your other game (before suicide mission) and copy it over to the new game. Rehash, plug it in back to Xbox, you'll have two separate saves, both of which you can import into ME3.

I don't have an xbox and that doesn't help my plan for my screw everything up run because I want to play that through to experience things that I didn't do (or couldn't stand to do, like screwing Tali's loyalty mission up royally).
