Is it preatyre's turn now? I hope he works out to use the svn ok...

Just a note that I can't have my turn for another 12 hours so praetyre... There's absolutely no rush ;)

If the SVN is still playing up for you post as an attachment again and 12padams or I will push it to SVN

When is Praetyre's Normal Turn time?

JosEPh

He's New Zealand iirc, Il principe is Germany.

If Praetyre had made his turn last night (our time) then Astral should've been able to do his early this morning and we would've been back on track. So much for that I guess.

Edit: Finally found the List of times Hydro updated:
* = Lets Play Contributor

Order by Timezone
- AstralPhaser - UTC +10 (Australian Eastern)*
- Il Principe - UTC +1 (Central European Time)*
- Acularius - UTC -5 (North American Eastern)*
- Meganix - UTC +1 (Denmark)
- JosEPh_II - UTC -6 (North American Central)
- Koshling - UTC -6 (North American Central)*
- Vokarya - UTC -6 (North American Central)*
- ls612 - UTC -6 (North American Central)
- Hydromancerx - UTC -8 (North American Pacific)*
- Thunderbrd - UTC -8 (North American Pacific)
- Praetyre - UTC +12 (New Zealand Standard Time)

Note this order puts Praetyre last so AstralPhaser can come first. Even though his time zone comes before AstralPhaser's.

Maybe this list could be edited/added to the OP?

Is it my turn? I can't check now but I can have my turn in an hour...

No its still Praetyre's turn.

I am not sure if this game will work out since its not working too smooth. We may need to cut down the number of players so the updates don't go beyond 48 hours between turns.

The only way to do this would be to either start a new game or have the players who hold up the game delete their unit and abandon their city (if they have founded one).

Its still early enough on that a new game would not be too bad. The problem is you may loose a good leader/civ and/or starting location. And of course any video or screenshots would be useless.

What do you guys think? And who would be removed? Alternatively we could always split up the game into 2 games. One with 5 players and one with 6 players. Possibly by time zone so the game would go faster.

I am just afraid that if turns take too long that players will just loose interest and then the game will die.

So you want to drop praetyre from this? Well... That would be a little sad so I would say only of praetyre agrees with you then we can drop him. If he truly wants to play I would not force him to leave.

The other way would be to do something about the strict synchronization. I tried to get a discussion started on that, but only about 2 people have taken any interest, so right now it's not going anywhere.

Praetyre has not been too bad actually. Its the fact that the game time gets thrown off to where its not even good for him. I would say based on what I have seen so far its more of the order than the players.

Il Principe, Meganix and Praetyre seem to throw off the game since they are on opposite sides of the planet. Thus if one is late than it messes up the others and then the other ends up having to wait until the next day.

I've tried to follow the discussion but....I'm not sure I would know how to "help" with it?

And most of the other Modders on the Team are kind of preoccupied with their own parts of the Mod.

Praetyre stopped in to the forum around 11:50AM today but didn't post as far as I can tell.

Maybe he needs T-Brds Save game posted like last time?

Yeah punish us for not being american :D .. but seriously: An an american only game would be much simpler to play. you might even get 2 turns per day with such a setup.

And now your trying to kick me out of the game? Come on it was me that set this up in the first place!

P.S I'm not actually angry, I know you wouldn't do that ;)

@12padams,

Is this the normal turn timeframe for you and Praetyre?

JosEPh

Honestly, I'm not sure why Praetyre hasn't taken his turn at least at some point in the last 26 hrs we've been waiting for him to. This is now beyond the point of turn order sequence simply being fouled up by bad timing.

If a player wants to abandon the game its easy enough to 'retire', which turns his civ over to the AI, which would be the appropriate way (most neutral) for a player to leave. I don't know if there's a way to force that if a player just vanishes though.

I'd prefer it if Praetyre could keep playing. For a game like this we need all players to regularly take their turns as quickly as they can, certainly within a 24 hr frame, with very few if any interruptions to this cycle otherwise we don't have a hope of getting in a turn a day which is the goal to spend MOST of the game in such a pattern.

It's 8:30am here. Although I can and will take my turn here it is a very awkward time to. My normal time is in 10 hours from now but if its my turn I do take it around this time too.
