meh
A couple more moderators would be quite beneficial to OT, in my opinion.
Back on topic, I'm also in favor of getting new mods, possibly for Sci/Tech as well as or instead of OT.
I support Masquerouge and LucyDuke for mods, with some support for Eran of Arcadia, augurey and Irish Caesar too, based on a general impression. I've got two infractions (and a warning for sig length) listed in my profile, so I might not be the best choice.
No prizes to guess my thoughts on this. What other qualities do you think are needed?
this ain't a democracy on the internet, else ron paul would be moderator of all
Not so.You know what I think? That most of you just want to see some really cool people getting mods, instead that you think there are not enough moderators for OT.

Then somebody would surely have mentioned me.![]()
I've changed my mind and I agree with this now that I see how people are behaving.Anyway, this is exactly what I just said it has become. A popularity contest instead of real positive suggestion for CFC. I really think the last nail should be put in the coffin of this thread.
) but sometimes just quiet word or two from mod early on can settle things better than just wait all the hell brakes lose. Some extra qualities (that popped into my mind):.Shane. said:*engaged
*objective/fair
*calm

, but if a moderator would be selected by a voting system, I think it wouldn't be benificiary for the forum. Just imagine the problem of selecting the possible 25 candidates
We don't bite; actually, we're rather friendly peopleeverytime I need a mod's help I'm scared to write them. They are surely "staff", they are the people who control the forum. We just need people, who can connect us with them.

But attorneys are soulless! In fact, I take my role to be more like a district attorney than (say) a drill sergent. I don't hold grudges - I just do the job I am asked to do.

Yes, just like an execution squad.
In the OT, nothing would be worse than a mod who doesn't know what he's talking about handing out infractions like candy.
I find discussions on evolution, religion & US politics to be dreadfully boring.I also think approachability is key. And no matter how much you may say "I'm approachable!", the best way to get down into the user base is to get down into the user base. The mods that participate in discussions are the ones I feel most comfortable addressing.
Well, I don't think there's anything good about a mod who does know what he's talking about handing out infractions like candy, either.
