Calabim forces invent new armour
The Calabim Master Sergent, Sigillum, has in coorporation with the field blacksmiths designed a new type of armour. The new 'scale mail' consist of a layer of metal scales, good at deflecting both bludgeoning and sharp weapons. Under the scales, a suit of silk makes it extremely hard for arrowheads to actually penetrate the armour. This means that even if an arrowhead pierces the scales, it will remain enveloped in the silk when sinking into the flesh, thus allowing easy removal of the arrow and better odds of avoiding weapon poisons.

Adopted civ list updated to include Slvynn. I'm keeping Valkrionn on as the leader of the D'Tesh, but I'll be taking most control over them due to his family crisis. Once this ordeal is over and he has some free time, he can retake the reigns.

Grigori, Khadi make trade deal

The Grigori and Khadi have signed a deal to trade wine for sugar. The Grigori is a leading supplier of wine, and hopes that the Khadi enjoyment will raise the value of their wine across Mazera.

Grigori Offer Wine to Hippus, Free of Charge

To help boost the fame of their wine (currently the Grigori are only associated with their ale), the Grigori have sent shipments of wine to King Alexander as a gift. The Grigori traders sincerely hope that the Hippus enjoy the wine, a limited time gift, but a few will certainly be at hand if a drunken minister has a slip of the tongue of any state secrets...

ELOHIM PUSHED OFF THE FANE

The Elohim, who have been fighting a long battle against the Infernal demons and the corrupted Sheaim, have finally been forced off the island known as the Fane of Lessers. The Sheaim and Infernals have now consolidated their presence on the Fane and are now pushing towards a mainland invasion for the Infernals. En route to the Fane are armies from the Malakim, Grigori, and Nortek, but they need to hurry if they are to reach the besieged Elohim trying to hold their islands in the Infernal Islands.

Map updated.

I have edited my posts now. I'm assuming Flauros travels with Mouer around and to Midgar.
Spoiler The actions of a madman, pt. VII :
Flauros rode in the midde of the column, surrounded by Serpentine Slayers. He was wearing a long, hooded black cape to conceal his identity from the curious onlookers. He waited patiently until they were on a stretch of road with no onlookers before speaking: "I would like to trade a word with Mouar. It may save both of us a lot of trouble." The Serpentine Slayers looked at him suspiciously, before carefully allowing him to ride to Mouar's side. "Milady, I understand you - and the Grigori in general - are not very fond of Onsted Hastil. However, I am dependant on him to recieve a very special information. I was hoping I could avoid this by obtaining the information from you instead..." He lowered his voice to a whisper before continuing...
Mouar looked at the man beside her. He was honest. Or at least, honest enough. Certainly enough that he deserved a similar answer.

"You are well advised not to deal with That Man in Grigori lands," she said. "Though I have no doubt you have and will continue to have dealings with Him outside of our territory, you are rightfully wise to avoid any dealings. Had you done anything... foolish, you would have paid greatly for it."

Flauros looked at her, simply looked at her. Here she spoke to him, the greatest remaining vampire, as if he were a petty criminal she could pass judgment on, not as a greater being who could easily snap her neck before her guards could react.

But he needed his answer. And he needed their help with his quest. And he was no longer the man or position he had once been.

She continued.

"I believe we can indeed help you find that place," she said. "We Grigori have our own friends, and our own ways to learn."

EYE ON YOU
Today's Subject
General Imagora

General Imagora is the top General of the Amurite nation. Born in the Sheaim city of Grottiburg, he was raised under a magical household and entered the Mage Guild when he came of age. He began to learn the ways of entropic and death magic, finding he had an affinity for both. However, during his studies of entropy he had to watched Kuriotate POWs waste away in prison camps. Imagora was sickened by what he saw and swore off his allegiance to the nation of the Sheaim. He migrated to the Amurite city of Cevedes, joining the local Mage Guild. He rapidly rose through the ranks, becoming a famed battlemage against the Illians, on hand when Krinith Resplan created the firebow. After several successes and promotions, Imagora was given the position of Head General of the Amurite army, giving him full control. His tactics have been questioned as he uses summons of demons and undead beasts to combat his enemies, but his high rate of success and the fact that he banishes his summons back to Hell when the battle is over has caused the Amurite government to look the other way.

NORTEK GROWTH CONTINUES

The Nortek, a kingdom of Goblins run by Deremei Diranth, has continued to grow in size and strength. Several groups of the Muris Clan have defected and some clans, such as the Umbra Clan, have completely been absorbed by the growing nation. Deremei Diranth has set out with a large part of his army to sail towards the Fane of Lessers to assist the Elohim. The Elohim holding off the Infernals can only hope that the Grigori, Malakim, and Nortek reinforcements reach them in time.

DEAN_THE_YOUNG'S THUNDER STOLEN

Dean_The_Young, a forum-user who is in control of the Grigori in a game thread on Civfanatics, has just had his thunder stolen by cypher132. The Grigori have officially annexed the Yokaido into the Grigori nation, making the Grigori far stronger than they were before. No word from Dean yet, but experts suspect he will either be highly upset or highly amused. Either way, it appears this man's thunder has been stolen.

Yokaido Formally Annexed into Grigori Republic

After a period of occupation and reform, the lands of the Yokaido have formally been Annexed into the Grigori Republic. With much silent arm twisting as the occupying power, the Grigori have convinced Peasant Rebel leaders that the only sustained freedom will be under Grigori law.

What were once Yokaido lands have become constituent parts of the Grigori Republic. Though the nation is gone, the spirit of the people remain, and their Identity remains strong even with the Grigori Republic.

The Yokaido will continue to exist as an identity, if not by mere maps or politics. It is something inside them, something in the way they think, that separate them oh so slightly from their Grigori countrymen.

The Yokaido states are expected to form a tight block in the Grigori Progress, once they elect seats. But they still yearn for a unifying leader to guide them in the Greater Republic. And now, that man resides in the capital.

---

OC: After much delay, disagreement with cypher has forced me to pull this. I can't have more than one vassal, and so I can't have an empire of vassals to balance and play with.

The Yokaido still exist, but not as a nation. More like... a strong regional identity, sort of, but one which Mimic is free to play as he likes. Takezo, once he finishes his re-education with Cassiel, will be the leader of the Yokaido province, and thus an important figure in the Grigori politics

In other words, exactly what an empire of vassals would have provided, except without the nice colors on the map.

Why does everyone assume I'm a man? It's a LAST NAME, people.

Because your first name being Dean AND being on the internet is too much coincidence?

Ok, getting back on track.

NEW SIDAR LEADER

After holding elections, several voters picked the category of "other" which allowed them to write the name of the person they wanted to lead them. In that section, many of them wrote "High Chief Votakara" and history has been made as High Chief Votakara has been elected into office and has accepted the position. He had urged his former Austrin nation to seek refuge in Sidar lands, but there is little he can do at the moment.

ONSTAD HASTIL'S QUOTE OF THE DAY

"A revolution begins with a small voice in the center of the crowd, which soon spreads into a riot. I wish there was a more peaceful way of revolution." - Warlord Ishlar Kafahn

Ok, everyone. This thread has been going on for almost a month now. I want some feedback on it. PM me your feedback and any other comments you have. If there's an issue you want to get fixed bring it up and we can work it out. As I have major writer's block right now, I won't be writing very long stories, so I'm trying to improve the "game" and your feedback would help. Thanks in advance.

As far as the economy goes, I will PM each of you telling you how much money you have the current time. Every Sunday these PMs will go out as well as the World Update in this thread.

Also, if a character makes a speech about the current happenings of Mazera and something he says goes along with what Onstad Hastil believes, there's a chance that your quote may be used as the Quote of the Day and would net you a 10 gold bonus.

My feedback is generally positive. The only comment would be that you seem awfully attached to the Onsted Hastil character - in itself, no biggie - and let him have too much influence/be too much of a patriot-hero type while still being widely regarded as a respectable rogue... I don't know, I just think he tries to be too many things at once, which makes it kind of unbelievable... Other than that, the thread is a really nice concept.
