Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

But don't you have a link to western Europe already? I think you should move that way and conquer the weaker civs (Burgundy, France, Castile and Aragon), it will be quite a boost! Of course taking Bohemia would only take two or three turns so you might take those first!

I, Sir Godfrey, King of Jerusalem, Grand Master of the Holy Orders of Knights Templars and Kights Hospitalers, do hereby swear my oath, before God Amighty and my crusader brethren, that the Holy Lands are ours! The infidel has been destroyed. They have been smote a righteous blow from our swords. We didst impale them upon the truthful tips of our lances. They have been cast down and trampled beneath the terrible hooves of our valiant chargers. Verily I say unto you, the right hand of God, the thunder of heaven has this day put forth victory unto His chosen ones. We are Lords of the Promised Land!

A Victory Point win at turn 136, 1237 AD, on Squire level. This has been exceedingly fun to play. Pretty much everything I was hoping for. I did not encounter any bugs, ommisions in the pedia, nor anything else that detracted from the play. It was fairly easy for me to achieve dominance and victory, but then I was playing on Squire level, which is as it should be. I will try another game at a more difficult level. Following are some screen shots.

This is the map at turn 108 (I just missed the half-way point). The final invasion of the infidel has begun.

Thank you, thank you. Crusading has been very good to me.

Man, i wanna play that sooo bad:sad:

Looked like the byzantines got a whipping.

Good work, but why did you raze so many Egyptian cities? :goodjob:

Do you normally play on squire?

Normally I do not raze cities, preferring to conquer and expand.
However, I initially went into Egypt without sufficient numbers to hold the ones I first took. So instead of letting the Fatimids take them back, I destroyed them and sowed the land with salt. Upon returning with a larger force, I was able to take and keep all the Fatimids possessions, enslaving their older men, their women and children. It was a glorious victory.

Do you normally play on squire?
No.

.

Normally, I play one or two levels higher, occaisionally three.
I chose to start at Squire because it is the same as Regent in the standard game which is where the player and the AI are equal, theoretically. I assumed that you all had maintained this.

I have begun a second game at one level higher, Duke, to compare how the increased level affects the game play. So far, 30 turns I think, it is just as easy. I anticipate another victory.

I will try another game at one level higher and then switch to another crusader state.

Is the holy land ressource only available in jerusalem? in rome and constantinople are crosses on the map too, but no holy land ressources.

Shouldn't the western european nations be abled to recruit templars and hospitaliteers (before they conquered jerusalem or build the great wonders)??

The crosses in Rome and Constantinople are not :crazyeye: resources. They are VP Locations.

"The Holy Land" resource specificly refers to the area surrounding Jerusalem. It is our way to simulate the crusading ideal, and the whole period of religous orders. Note that the two knightly orders were founded in Jerusalem and not anywhere else. There goal was to defend the Holy Land, and not anything else. It is true that they were present in most western countries too, but there they acted more as merchants, creating wealth for the continued war in Palestine.

Besides the wonder that you can build with the Holy Land resource is connected to Jerusalem only. As was already pointed out, the crosses in Rome and Constaninople are VPL's.

:)

On a sidenote I'm probably going to release the Crusader States soon, it seems more or less finished.

YESSSSSSSSS:)
Woohoo you Rule!:king:

Any changes from what we've been testing?

It may seem selfish of me to ask:blush::shifty: this, but does the Crusader Scenario have a complete pedia?
