Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

Winner - If you want to play with settlers you can always choose the map without preplaced cities, or ofcause a random map. :)

I know, I was just a bit surprised that it's not possible in this scenario - there is a lot of free land in Russia now, when Tatars were wiped out :)

BTW, Denmark got wiped out by Sweden - they razed 2 out of 4 cities in Denmark and captured whole Norway. Without settlers, nobody will be able to repopulate it.

I added in the city sets in this game IMHO they look much better than the ones already there:D

Cheers Varwnos :goodjob:

I started play a couple of days ago as the Byzantines, but haven't gotten far yet. I took Durazo from Sicily, the southern city (can't remember what it is called) from Serbia, but had to make peace in the end. I am now building up a large force of Cataphracts and will strike against Serbia, then Bulgaria. After that, Venice.

Take Anatolia, it's rich and productive. And if you don't do that, Turks will come to get you.

I decided to secure my northern border, so I teamed up with Italy and attacked Sicily, which controled the remnants of Bulgaria and Serbia. Sicilians were caught completely by surprise, their cities were taken in 3 turn. Then I ambushed Norman knights returning from Russian plains and obliterated them without mercy. Meanwhile, Italians formed a massive army and begun their march south, taking Sicilian cities one by one. I've planned to send my troops to Sicily and take Palermo and Catania before them, but they were faster than I expected. Instead, I sent my Aegean sailors to Malta and took it - Sicilians destroyed.

Then I initiated my master plan - take Tropea and cut the italian armies off from the mainland Italy. It worked, Italians sent their massive forces to retake Tropea and were foolish enough to enter an open terrain, which made them an easy target for my cavalry units :D

Now I plan to conquer Sicily and then march north and take Rome itself - all three VP locations will be mine

^ There are many nations missing from the mod... There is a hardcoded 31 civilization limit in Civ3, so it's not the fault of the creators of the mod...

This looks like a really cool mod, but i miss norway as a civ!
In the middle ages, Norway was an independent nation from 872-1397
Could you pleeaase add Norway!?

Denmark, Norway and Sweden were not really nations from 800-1100 (during the viking age), they didn't have then a strong political identity.

I would love to add Norway. But as Mirc pointed out there is a limit of civs possible. You can't add more than 31 and then we had to choose the ones we thought gave the best representation.

This mod is great! I just wanted to say this again to thank Yoda Power and embryodead for all their terrific effort. Thanks guys!

Well then we have to bugger Firaxis into releasing the source code.:p

I can imagine how much more awesome this mod would be with more civs....

After I took all of Bulgaria and Serbia, I built up a lrage contingent of Cataphracts, then Pronoir (if that's not it, I can't spell...). I struck against The Seljuks, and took a couple of cities, but stalled at Konya. I got help from the Abbasids and Georgians shortly after that, and siezed Konya, but had no more offensive units. The Seljuk city of Quavzin (once more, I can't spell very well...) changed hands a number of times: Seljuk, Abbasid, Seljuk, Abbasid, me (via treaty), then Georgia (I had no use for it...). I suspect it will trade hands again in the next war...

If you want to try some more civs, then remember that there's Papal State and Wallachia in the Western Europe map, complete with unique stuff. :)

There is sense :goodjob: in what you say. We Fanatics must not weaken the ;) pressure on Firaxis even for a minute.

Agreed. Besides I don't think there's going to be any further Civ3 release, what's the point in keeping the code unreleased? With some slights modifications the possibilities would be endless!

If they release the source code then it's the same thing as making the game free. I doubt they want to do that, as they can always use it in yet another Civilization Compilation Pack and earn some $$$.

I'm aware of it, but the "Complete" Civ3 was released eons ago, and I don't think sales are significant on Civ3 anymore. Besides, even if they release the code couldn't they still sell the game had sth been modified?
