Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

Well, I didn't know about the alliance bug.
I'm not a cheater. Really I'm not. Honest injun, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.

I plan to play many different ways, different civs, harder levels.
I promise not to do the MA on the first turn. Maybe the second.

You can do it the second turn with the 'normal' conditions, so that's no problem. :)

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A REDLINED SPEARMAN FORTIFIED IN A CITY DEFEATS 3 NORMAN KNIGHTS?? :wallbash: It totally destroyed all my plans! I was about do impose a huge defeat on Poland, now I can barely prevent my newly-conquered cities from being taken.

I actually can't remember ever getting whipped that bad:lol:

Alls i can say is....REVENGE REVENGE REVENGE:mad:

Things are going well for the Edessa. I have conquered the northeast, destroyed the Zangids and have marched into Armenia and captured Sis. Only one town remains, but my forces in the north are too few to make a successful assault.

Jerusalum has moved across the Sinai and have taken Dekernis from the Fatimids. Syria has gained a bit of strength but i am now at war and have taken Sa'an and Masyaf.

I have 13% of the land mass (the Byzantines have 11% of land mass) and 21% of the population (Jerusalem has 19%). This is during turn 65.

Some things to report. In the civpedia entry for Border Forts, at some point it refers to them as Border Towers. And the Armenian LH seems to have an issue in the angry part. at one stage his eyebrows had patches of pale yellow in them, although i havent noticed this in any other games...

If it did not gain experiance the odds of this happening is .003 or .03 can't remeber. (I think it's the first one.)

It did gain experience... Otherwise it would have been practically impossible.

So true!! I already took 2 of their cities, only 5 left and I'm going to take 3 more in the next 3-4 turns.

What level were you playing on? How many victory point do you, and the biggest competition have?

Those things must be related to the main mod actually, as I didn't touch any of it.

Squire level, 11176 VPs; traling Jerusalem's 13204. Jerusalem is my biggest rival, and then probably the Byzantines.

I now have 19% of land area and 41% of the population, so i hope the final destruction of the Armenians will give my the 1% i need, and then encourage growth. I just destroyed the Syrians and Jerusalem has all but annihilated the Fatimids.

Fair enough

Do you normally play squire? I need to know, since I'm trying to figure out if Edessa is too strong a civ.

I'm surprised Jerusalem is doing so well in your game, I've never seen them launch a succesful attack on Egypt in my games.

Ok, game finished!

Won a Domination victory, my plan of avoiding war and encouraging growth did not really work, as the others were expanding as fast as i was, and i was devastated by an outbreak of plague.

So i invaded the Byzantines :D

Jerusalem was my closest rival with 14% of land and 32% of population, and they collected 17,034 VPs to my 17,580.

Here's the map the on the last turn (turn 163):

Perhaps you could give the Byzantines a wonder that spawns units? (to simulate the arrival of more from the rest of the empire).

Although this would make them less playable on the other hand.

Corruption in the western-most city (Beysehir) was 5/6 commerce and waste was 5/9 shields. Isauria had corruption of 9/12 and waste of 7/9, and Konya had corruption of 9/13 and waste of 4/9

Corruption in the southern-most city (Damascus) was 15/31 commerce and waste was 13/21 shields.

Thanks LMR. :)

Well they aren't playable to begin with. That actually di fine in most games with the territory they have, they are still one of the biggest powers.

Revenge!!

I have 16 Norman Knights and 12-13 other units awaiting to heal... near their last city (in fact, they have 3 cities left, but one is a small one at the north of the Rus, with which they are at, and one is a really small one in Crimea; this one is size 9 and their current capital, so that's why I'm saying "last" city). Let's see what they're going to do now.

I need ideas. After I destroy Poland, who should I attack next? I have many possibilities:

a) the Rus: never realized actually how huge they are. If I take them out, I'll be the undisputed ruler of Europe. But... they are actually very strong! I've seen lots of units pass near my borders to go to Poland (which they didn't reach because I conquered them before they could :D), and it will probably take 2 wars to finish them off
b) Bohemia: they are weak and their cities have a great position
c) Germany: would open my way to western Europe, which is currently divided and extremely easy to conquer. France, Burgundy, Denmark, Aragon, Castille, none of them could even put up a big resistance
d) Italy, to ensure I control the whole peninsula
e) The Byzantines, to get closer to the Holy Lands. A crusade isn't really out of the question later, I'd love access to the unique units that I get to build if I conquer that
