Well, of course it's wetter. England's the driest part of the British Isles. Once you go Westwards or Northwards, it only gets wetter.

EDIT: Last year, it snowed loads and the meterologist said it wouldn´t snow like that for at least 20 years, if that. That girl visted next year, she came on the same day it snowed on 19th December. We went to Paris for New Years, and it snowed there. It snowed some more in January, and stopped snowing after she left. Ergo, she is a snow goddess.
