Minecraft

I know they do and I use them. I just feel sorry for all those poor folks who don't.

So, I just realized the beds are a deathtrap. Everytime I try to go sleep, I keep getting woke up a second later by SWAMP ZOMBIES!!

But seriously, the only thing my dogs are useful for are protecting me from zombies with midnight munchies who can somehow walk through walls and pop up right above me.

This is fantastic! It looks like underground dungeons are going to get much bigger. The new stone brick blocks make them look a bit more interesting.

And NPC villages too - oh the possibilities. I wonder if NPCs drop anything? Is it humane to build a mob trap for NPCs?

New biomes as well. This could be the best update ever. :D

Hmmm... I wonder if it would be possible to replace the floor of a pigman village with sand, then, with pistons, move the entire layer underneath the sand, causing the sand to collapse and move the entire village down one block.

I don't think you can do that. But you could MCedit + Sand + Redstone = same effect.

Do the NPC just stand around, or do they work like in Minecolony?

Make sure the hinges of the door leading inside your house are on the left side when looking at them from the outside of your house (seriously...). Also don't put your bed right next to a wall. These help.

That's probably it then. My bed is next to the wall AND the hinges are on the right because it looked better too me. *sigh*.

Also, put your bed in the air, so if any monsters come along they fall down.

Ohh, is that a new cobblestone texture? I like it!

Apparently giant mushrooms are their own Biome. I hope they get a unique ground texture in the final version.

:dubious: Giant mushrooms and NPC villages are kind of odd...

Minecraft is getting more... fantasy. Not sure whether I like it or not.

Same here.

Next update: sprinting

Notch said:
So I added sprinting, just to try it out. Double tap forward to start running, like the fast jump move thing from Unreal, but it only works forwards, like sprinting in most modern FPS games. It felt slow and weird until I added a FOV change as well, but now it's fun and addictive. I feel like there needs to be a drawback to doing it, though, or you'll feel like you're wasting time when you're not sprinting.
