[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

I believe all units deserve to gain experience over time and don't see any effect from age. Where is the code which allows Adepts to gain experience so I can explore developing code to expand that to all units.

Hah I remember now it was you Valkrionn who said something about working on the FFH mod, I remember the evil hamster >_>...anyway it was more the icons of the current FFH that I liked, like the new Vampires! Anyway, you're still working on your Rise From Erebus? Was just hoping to play the most recent version cause I remember Fall Further was one that I played but stopped seeing updates for.

Rise from Erebus is definitely being worked on :)

We got lots planned, and soon we will release a new version (hopefully within 2 weeks), 1.3 (currently at 1.22).
It will include python optimization (noticeable speed increases), some civilization changes, modified barbarian system, and fixes.
We got multiple versions planned, including a final version where we hope to get the game as polished as possible.

We are also working on a wiki and a blog where we will write Development Diaries to try and keep you players in the loop.

Some of the new unit art will likely be merged in. Just haven't had time yet.

And yes, it's being actively worked on. In fact, while 1.3 is nearly done (just need spare time... Damn finals), about half the work for the NEXT patch is already done.

Hi,

I've been enjoying FFH II for a couple of months.

Recently had a good game going...unfortunately, seemed to lock-up during computer turn and is unable to progress to next turn.

I've tried reloading and moving saved file to different computer, same result.

I've attached the save file from the turn just prior to lock-up (turn AD-0586) and the lock-up (AD-0587). It played just fine up until this point on this and other instances of the game.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening or if this is a lost cause and I need to restart?

Email responses are welcome.

Hey ScottishViking.

As a Steam user who's put in quite a few FfH games, I can assure you that Fall from Heaven 2 works very well with Steam. Just make sure you have the Beyond the Sword expansion...which you probably do, especially if you have Civ 4 complete.

The shortcut the mod will install won't work, but you can get around that and launch the mod directly by right clicking Civ 4 Beyond the Sword, clicking Properties, clicking Set Launch Options and typing "mod=\Fall from Heaven 2" without the quotation marks into the dialogue box. Note, there should be no space between the backslash "\" and Fall from Heaven 2.

Tssha tried to follow your directions after getting the complete pack for $10 but no luck it tells me the directory is invalid and boots up regular beyond the sword. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

If i go to the "load a mod" in the menu it doesn't show up there either, but the other mods that ship with the game do show there.

***Edit***

Got it figured out installed the mod to the wrong mod folder everyone make sure you install it into:
\Steam\SteamApps\common\sid meier's civilization iv beyond the sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\

Patch "n" (Bruenor's patch) is linked in the first post. It won't break save games and fixes the following issues:

1. Fixed a CtD caused by a conversion in a stack with enemy units.
2. Fixed a CtD caused by taunt causing a unit that can't attack to attack.
3. Fixed an issue that caused the AI Balseraphs to build freaks endlessly.
4. Disciples of Acheron start with Loyalty.
5. Sons of the Inferno start with Loyalty.
6. Fixed a CtD when the Bannor cast rally and an enemy unit is on a town.
7. Fixed a CtD that can be caused when a player founds a city in a plot with enemy units (the fun of invisibility).
8. Fixed a WoC from summons (found by Snarko).
9. Fixed an error in the Order vs Veil random event.
10. Fixed an issue with applying the POISONED_BLADE promotion through explore lairs events.

FFH2 is a mere Single Player Game. I noticed that one can play FFH2 via Gamespy, but its noone there. This is not surprising, because you cant play FFH2 multiplayer because of OOS. Although I love the game I think it has no future because of not existing multiplayer support.

it has been there for quite a while..
and i`m sure i`m not the only one who spend ages playing it..
of course erebus and all its civs are much more fascinating than it`s multiplayer support... but for me, i do not care! i actually prefer story based and flavor enriched games to well balanced multiplayer games...
so, for me it is the übermod for civ, honestly it is the reason i bought the game.. and i played normal civ iv maybe 3 times and ffh for x(well i lost count and dont want to make something up) times..

and i am sure it will have a future! i`m actually hoping for it`s BIG return in civ v...

Don't try to get a game going in Gamespy, do it via the forums. There is actually an active MP community, and work IS ongoing to fix OOS, particularly among modmods. Wild Mana is apparently quite stable, so long as you do not activate ranged attacks. RifE will be stable, as we found the source of the ranged attack OOS; Only game-ending OOS we know of in our mod. ;)
