[Modmodmod] RFC:Europe Extra Civs

Hmm, the first (Rurik) track of Novgorod is playing at half speed for some reason. I'll see if I can fix it.

EDIT: Reencoding the file fixed it apparently. I guess it got corrupted somehow?

And I thought, that´s the way the song is supposed to sound like :D

It would be cool if I could gift Genoa, Sardinia and Corsica to Venice as France, it'd be great to have a French Kingdom of Italy that covered all of Italy (except Rome of course)

I just played a game as France, I was powerful. I killed Germany and Burgundy at spawn along with Genoa. Venice vassalized to me peacefully and I fed them Florence, Neapolis and Milan (couldn't feed them Genoa for some reason).

I scored the first Crusade and conquered Outremer from Mamluk vermin. Later when Austria spawned I fed it Venice and Germany. I subjugated the Turkish hordes (Ottomans) and fed them Anatolia, when they finished gorging I gifted the Ottomans many units and declared war on Serbia which they gobbled up. Later I gave Austria tons of units and then declared war on Hungary with my own forces taking the brunt of Hungary allowing the Austrians to conquer it. After that I declared war on the Bulgarians after gifting the Ottomans a massive army and the Bulgarians were crushed. Later me and the Ottomans demolished the Egyptians which I gifted to them. I also beat up England to the point where Scotland devassalized and gifted English cities to them (Hebrides and Ireland), Scotland promptly collapsed so I vassalized England and fed them Scotland. By the time I finished my first two projects (Aztec+Inca) other "colonial" civs were still working on paper at best. Since Aragon and Castile did not fuse Cordoba spent the game owning most of Hispania.

Just to see how well the Aragonese could do I gave them Corsica, Sardinia, Apulia, Thessaly, Valencia and Malta (all mine when I force flipped with WB gradually, after union was supposed to happen), the Aragonese did quite well taking #3 . In #2 place was Poland who killed the Prussians and gobbled up some of Kiev, their stability was generally bad, but they managed (union of Krewo[sp?] did not take place).

Important things when I looked through the provinces manager,

Poland and Lithuania:Poland has such bad stability is that Danzig is in a Core province of Poland, that's extremely bad for stability, when Prussia spawns please change Pomerania to Outer so Poland doesn't get screwed stability wise. Other things, Lithuania has many more outer provinces in the manager than Poland does, for example Kiev, Pereyaslavl, Sloboda, Chernigov, Novgorod and Estonia, please add these to outer for Poland so it can fill out the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Also Polotsk is Pot2Core for Lithuania and is nothing for Poland, Smolensk is Pot2Norm and nothing for Poland

Ottomans: the Ottomans owned North African outright for the rest of the game after being conquered, these should be added as outer for Ottomans (they destabilized IRL after getting numerous cities conquered not from holding provinces).

Austria and Hungary: Hungary has a lot more provinces in the manager than Austria, if you could please add some of these as outer to Austria that'd be great.

Aragon and Castile: There is not very much overlap between Aragon and Castile, when they merge if Castile is dominant (probable) they lose a lot of nice Aragonese territories that they didn't in real life (from merging). If Aragon is dominant they collapse due to not having most of Ibèrica on stability maps.

Other stability stuff: Could you possibly have it so that the merger winner keeps a palace in the loser's capital to help reduce maintenance?

Thanks for the writeup. France is starting with more unit than intended this version, they will be weaker in the coming version.

Stability in unions will also be much improved, and the major gets the core territory of the minor as OK which I think is a good incentive to try for the unions instead of just conquering everyone.

With this in mind I don't think the stable provinces need to be extended. Poland will get Polotsk and Smolensk as OK if they enact one of the unions and so on. Remember the stable unions generally cover a much smaller area than the historical maximum extent of the nation.

Putting a Summer Palace in the previous capital of the civ seems like a nice touch, I'll put that in.

Changes in second post?

Sweden, got the union event with Norway. Somehow, I chose all the "best" choices and it failed. I check the dbg.log and I saw this:
Code:
('Economic score for ', 9)

('Gold: ', 956, 'Gold/10: ', 95, 'Weighted gold: ', 1425)

('Human', 0, 'AI', 142500)

('Economic score for ', 9)

('Gold: ', 956, 'Gold/10: ', 95, 'Weighted gold: ', 1425)

('Human', 0, 'AI', 148500)

('Economic score for ', 9)

('Gold: ', 956, 'Gold/10: ', 95, 'Weighted gold: ', 1425)

('Human', 0, 'AI', 252500)

('Economic score for ', 9)

('Gold: ', 956, 'Gold/10: ', 95, 'Weighted gold: ', 1425)

('Human', 0, 'AI', 286500)

('Economic score for ', 9)

('Gold: ', 956, 'Gold/10: ', 95, 'Weighted gold: ', 1425)

('Human', 0, 'AI', 382500)
My score is 0. I think there's a problem here...

Attached it :)

Seems my score is reduced to zero due to iMultiplier (I printed it before applying iMultiplier and it was != 0).

Seems iMultiplier isn't set if outside the vassal check?

Crap, of course, will upload a hotfix tomorrow. In the meanwhile moving the self.setUnionMultiplier to after the vassal check should fix the bug.

Hey, I was trying to start a game on this Alpha4 version, but when I click on "Play Scenario" there's no "RFCExtraCivs" scenario, there's only the normal RFCEurope map.

Did I download it wrong? Or is the file missing?

You name it "RFCEuropePlusPlus" as per OP

I whipped up a little something to better track UHVs with Sweden:

There's also an error in Victory.py, line 507: Catolicism should be Catholicism.

Oh crap. It doesn't count if the Baltic cities are owned by your vassal? I vassalized Prussia... Does that mean all I can do is hope they break away? :D
