MODS compatible with Vox Populi (VP)

Can we get the Extended Era's mod to be compatible with this =) I am playing with it currently and there are "some" bugs now and again but for the most part it seems to be stable.

If not can we get the Historical Era timeline implimented ie the long tech build times with the normal unit / building / improvement turn style? I really love the way that works! Thanks :goodjob:
 
I thought R.E.D. already included Ethnic Units, didn't it?

They are 2 different mods doing basically the same thing, but with different models/ textures and so on.
Try both of them and see which one you prefer. Just don't use them at the same time. ;)
 
Is there a CBP version of events and decisions? I've seen it mentioned elsewhere. If so, how do I get it?

Too buggy and unbalanced. You can use the regular Events and Decisions however, but still expect CTD and balance issues throughout.
 
Are there any mods that are compatible that add units?

Going through the first page... not seeing any.

Any mod that modifies the game speed (for production or research) is technically compatible, but is not considered balanced.
 
Hello, I think I am having compatibility issues with my mods. I keep crashing almost always in the industrial/modern era. I have played with CBP about 8 times now, and I would say at least half my games had to be scrapped because of crashing. My most recent crash was a few days ago. I was playing Communitas map, duel size with 3 Civs (Russia, America, Germany). As Russia I was in a war with America and used a heavy bomber to attack a city and the game immediately crashed. I reloaded and tried again, the game crashed again. This has happened before with bombers and also when trading luxuries.

All these mods are supposed to be compatible. I have also crashed without the Communitas mod enabled. I downloaded them all through Steam workshop except the Community Patch mods. The first two said they might need tweaking, but I could not find any information on what exactly needed to be tweaked, so I didn't think there would be an issue. Same with More Luxuries. Could this be the issue? Or is there general instability with the CBP that might cause this?

Thanks in advance for any help, I love this patch, but I have yet to complete a game mostly because of crashes which is really discouraging. It's probably my fault so I want to know what i'm doing wrong.

I think you should do fine with these.

Did you manage to finish a game or progress to Atomic era even once? Or are the CTDs consistent when you use bombers?

Also what was your version of CBP? There was a bug causing CTDs in versions 9/27 - 10/1 however these were happening during diplomacy with AI, so it should not be the case.

Did you download the Communitas map from Steam workshop??? You should be using the one bundled with CBP, although I do not think this is linked to your crashes. I think the same goes for More Luxuries.

I think your best bet is to try with less mods. Also I think you should be able to enable/disable RED mid-game.

You can try posting your logs - maybe we will find something there?

Hey thanks for the reply. I recall one game where I made it to the Atomic Era without problems. I would say most of my crashes are when I use bombers, but others are really random. Just yesterday I was playing YnaEMP (the newest from the website) with the above mods (minus Communitas and added Academy City mod), and the newest version of CBP, and the game crashed during an AI turn. I downloaded the Communitas map from the workshop, but like I said these crashes happen when it is disabled as well.

I think I will just try less mods as you say to see if I can isolate the problem. Unfortunately, I do not know how to retrieve game logs or I would grab them next time this happens.
 
Is there a list for people using just the Community Patch? I don't like the design of the Community Balance Patch, but the Community patch (and the communitas map) is a must have for me. I already suppose i have to download the C4D and CSD compatability files from WHoward's Mix'N'Pick mods.
Or does the same list apply to users without the balance patch?

The Community Patch is essentially compatible with everything that doesn't use DLL, since the Community Patch adds new defines, etc and does not make any balance changes.
 
Is there a way to replace Various DLL mod components with Various DLL mod components- 34 civs in the community patch?

Okay, so I guess I managed to find which minor mods are enabled in CP by default (by checking the logs), if it is correct maybe this list can be put into the changelog, hopefully benefitting confused people like me.

Some parts from Artificial Unintelligence

Though getting c4df work with the community patch is a bit tricky, you have to merge some files from cbp compatibility and check for overrides. I've managed to fix most incompatibilities, but still some UI issues remain, though those may be due to EUI.
 
I adore the One Colour Civ mod.

It's not currently compatible with CPP or EUI, not sure which. Border colors work correctly, but in certain instances, icons and city plates will be the default colours instead of modded colours.

If someone could throw some love at helping me make them work nicely together, it would be much appreciated. =)
