More Wonders

I saw that, great work! I was planning on eventually adding some Dubai wonders myself - thankfully you didn't include them. It's awesome to see so many new wonder makers on the scene, makes me think I should step aside at some point. Then I remember I enjoy it too much, and I still need to find a leaderhead artist

These new wonders add a lot of flavor, but shouldn't a wonder be equal to the amount of effort put in compared to the total amount of wealth available? I mean, certainly a ginormous and luxurious golf club would have been a wonder in ancient times, but now...?

I was wondering, is it possible/easy enough to mod in a wonder that gives the civilization which has built it, a belief?

Also (maybe purely hypothetically, if I am to assume that this cannot be done), would this be "OP", even if the player who has built the wonder is restricted to choosing beliefs only from a given beliefs pool/pools?

I suppose it really depends on the belief, but in general it would be overpowering. Pantheon beliefs would be least OP because very nearly all of them are yield improvements anyway, much like most wonders. A good measure of what are good beliefs to consider would be to understand Byzantium's UA, I'm playing my first game as Theodora right now. As far as I know the sixth belief can be another Pantheon but I'm not sure of that right now.

Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde is a large Pueblo settlement located in the modern American state of Colorado. It is most famous for the Cliff Palace, the largest known cliff dwelling in North America, but there are several more buildings within the area, including resevoirs and defensive towers. Mesa Verde was most active during the 12th century, before overpopulation and climate change led to a quick decline a century later. The site was declared a natural park by US President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906 to, in his words, 'Preserve the works of man". Ingame, Mesa Verde provides +1 :c5food: food from desert tiles, and +50% :c5greatperson: Great Person generation in the city in which it is built, while it must be built in a city on or next to a desert and requires Trapping. Mesa Verde can be downloaded from Steam Workshop Here or from the CivFanatics Download Database Here

i have an another wonder idea:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Lion_of_Cangzhou
reqs metal casting
+5 :c5production: in the city, +2 :c5culture: per worked iron, free forge

Monumental iron castings - pagodas, bells, statues - were produced in China as early as the Tang period and continued to be produced into modern times, but it seems to have been in the early Song that they were especially popular. Said to be the largest iron casting on record in the world is the famous Cangzhou Lion, cast in A.D. 953. It is 5.4 metres high, 5.3 metres long, and 3 metres broad; its weight is estimated at 50 tonnes.

The foundry technique of the iron lion is very high: it was made by casting in several segments one upon another by using 409 pieces in total, showing the superb level of foundry technique of the Later Zhou Dynasty.

That looks awesome, I'll put it on the list.

I've been going through and updating a few of the old mods that needed it - so far I've fixed the icons of the Tokyo Sky Tree and the Darjeeling Himalayan railway (credit to sukritact) and added new splashes to both. The new versions can be found on Steam Workshop. I'll also be updating Shwedagon Paya to buff it a bit, since I've been told it's UP

Hi Pouakai

Do you know the Chenonceau Castle?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Château_de_Chenonceau

http://www.limogesboxcollector.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Chenonceau.jpg

In my opinion, it's the most beautiful french castle far before Versailles or Chambord. it's smaller than them.
Located in the Loire Valley, it has the particularity to be built ON a river, surrounded by french gardens (jardins "à la française") .
Do you think it could be included?
Some ideas could
an action on gardens, or with the river spot
or like the Neuwanshtein is between 2 mountains, it could be between 2 riversides (doubt this is possible)

Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is a large church located in the city of Westminster which is in turn within London in the United Kingdom. The site has been home to a religious building for well over a millenium, although construction on the current church was only begun during the reign of Henry III in 1245, partially as a site for his burial. Since the completion of the church it has been the burial site for many monarchs and notable people of England, to the extent that the South Transept is also known as Poet's Corner. It also features memorials to several more prominent figures, such as William Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde, as well as being the location for Royal Weddings, coronations and funerals, among other things. Ingame, Westminster Abbey provides +2 :c5culture: Culture for every Social Policy tree adopted, and a further +4 :c5culture: Culture for every completed tree, while it requires Chivalry. Westminster Abbey can be downloaded either from Steam Workshop here or from the CivFanatics Download Database Here.

For the update of White Sands Missile Range:

Is it really necessary to give +2 range to all air domain units? Why not +2 range for missiles and maybe +1 range for non-missile air-units. (I don't know if it is hard to distinguish those)
And how about giving a production boost towars missiles?

It's simply because it's more work if I have it different (Two promotions as opposed to one, and having it based on unit class instead of domain) and I don't really have that much time at the moment

guys, when I get in the industrial age the wonders of the game disappear.
what do I do?

What do you mean? Most wonders do have a limit as to which eras they can be built in, so the Pyramids can't be built in the industrial age even if no one has built them; as far as I know

However, if you mean the wonder vanishes from the city, that's a completely different matter.

That's odd - wonders shouldn't disappear at all unless someone has built them. The Max start era is only saying that if you start later than a certain era some wonders won't be available, but not if you enter that era from starting earlier

couple of suggestions:

Bronze Horseman

The Bronze Horseman is an equestrian statue of Peter the Great in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The statue's pedestal is the enormous Thunder Stone, claimed to be the largest stone ever moved by man (1,250 t). In its original state the stone weighed about 1500 tonnes. It was carved during transportation to its current site.

not sure about effect, it could be a free great work (considering next expansion)

Catal Huyuk
this is needed for my neolithic era mod which is under development now
(btw many thanks for the Gobekli Tepe :goodjob:)

Çatalhöyük was a very large Neolithic and Chalcolithic settlement in southern Anatolia, which existed from approximately 7500 B.C. to 5700 B.C. The inhabitants lived in mud-brick houses that were crammed together in an agglutinative manner. No footpaths or streets were used between the dwellings, which were clustered in a honeycomb-like maze. Most were accessed by holes in the ceiling, with doors reached by ladders and stairs. The rooftops were effectively streets. Vivid murals and figurines are found throughout the settlement, on interior and exterior walls. Although no identifiable temples have been found, the graves, murals, and figurines suggest that the people of Çatalhöyük had a religion rich in symbols
