It won't let me do that. When I click it, it just does nothing. Does he have to leave and then rejoin somehow? And if we did that, would either of us be able to change back to our correct civs?

Yeah I'm not sure. I tried to switch as well and it just lights up green? I will do some more research and see what I can find.

So the turn timer is way off. It is now set to move on everyday at 4pm. I've already lost a turn because it keeps jumping. I'm going to try and get it back to midnight and then just stop hitting 'next turn' so that it stays there.

Anyway, I have 3 stories to write with all the stuff that has happened. Hopefully I can get some time soon!

Are you sure it didn't give you Culture or Gold? You don't get any popup for what you get from a goodie hut in multiplayer, and in games I've played with friends I've often been confused as to why I didn't get anything - until I realize that I now have some extra Gold, Faith, or Culture.
If it really didn't give you anything, then that's an odd bug...

You probably got culture or gold I don't think ya get popups for that. Well at least that's better than a map of fish

I might have got some gold or culture as I didn't really pay attention to that. But I think the one I got before that gave me a notification; it was a map. And btw, Silverman, the map I got was mostly of ocean, too.

Awesome stories everyone. Very happy the game is progressing nicely! We are still in the VERY early game, so imagine how good all the stories will be once we have gotten into the game a little bit.

I did some research and I don't know if there is a way for us to have any outside substitutes :/. There is only one guide I can find for using pitboss, and it is on the 2K forums. It doesn't shed any light on substituting players. I have figured out however that we can 'swap' each other. Both people have to have hit the 'swap player' button and it will work. The way we can use this is that if someone needs to go on vacation, like sh3baproject, they can switch with the observer slot at the bottom (what I have the host computer on) and I can be the sub for them. This sucks because that means we can only have 1 sub at a time, and that if we lose a player it will just have to go to the AI. At least that's what it seems like to me. On the host computer I am able to 'kick players' but I'm afraid that will just revert their civ to an AI and not leave a slot open for a human. If anyone knows anything about this, please chime in and share your knowledge.

Are you sure it wouldn't let another human join in if someone gets kicked? I think that in normal games someone can join in and play an AI civ even if it has never been played by a human. I know Pitboss isn't normal multiplayer, but maybe the mechanics are somewhat the same?

So writing about city states, should it just be a free-for-all as long as you don't contradict what someone else has written about the city state?

I think that'd be just fine; I deliberately left the description of Florence vague (apart from the fact that they're speaking the same sort of proto-Latin as my lot) so that no one would be "forced" into writing about it the exact same way when they meet them.

I've just seen Florence via a map. I know where you are cpm... Well... sort of... somewhere around Florence... and obviously no in game

Also I know I haven't put anything up in the written thread - I plan to make a fairly big post soon just personally prefer to put out bigger, less often, posts. But I will write soon, I promise

Anyone else having trouble logging on? I keep getting an "Error Joining Multiplayer Session" message whenever I try to connect to the pitboss server. Something on your end, dot, or just my crappy internet?

Yeah I just tried to log on too and got the same thing. I think someone closed out of it on the host computer. I'll have it figured out by tomorrow. Sorry about the inconvenience. I did save, but it was a few turns ago so I don't know how much we will be losing.

Ah, okay, well, that'll happen, I guess...I don't know about other people but I shouldn't have lost too much. Glad it should be resolvable, though!
