Well it looks like I'll have to quit just as quickly as I joined then. I've tried connecting multiple times and left it up for 30 mins thinking it might just be horribly slow, but now I'm thinking its either a software issue on my system or something about my tethering setup Civ doesn't like. I'll try again tonight after work but start without me if everyone else is ready.

I recommend, in wars, not building siege weapons or letting cities use range attacks, and having just armies fighting armies, and if an army in a city area is no longer there, or runs away, that area is "occupied". In peace deals, you can then bargain over occupied territory. Even if you build siege weapons, the occupation rule always makes the games fun, in my experience

Also we should probably be doing this maybe 1-2 turns aday maybe more depending on how this goes. Oh and thanks for dedicating your PC for us

i think we should allow cities to attack,but limit it to one tile and after you get archery. range increasing to 2 should conciede with another tech, but which one, i dont know. its up to you guys.

I made it in the game and chose my civ, but it says I can't click ready because someone is using a DLC not installed on my computer.

Hmm, well I have told it to not allow any of the DLC...

It says that sh3baproject has selected an "unavailable leader." Could that mean a DLC leader? Who did you choose sh3baproject?

Other than that the only thing I can think is that I needed to do something before even opening the lobby. I don't know what though because it literally goes right into the host game option when you open pitboss.

Oh, and Jim is my dad's desktop I am using to host the game. It is just set to observer.

Yep I think so (said this on your profile page also). It says 'DLC package Polynesia not installed" when you hover over it.

sh3baproject you need to select a new civ that isn't DLC, and make sure you choose King difficulty level. We will wait for you to start.

@kobo - Are you per chance missing the Polynesia DLC? Not sure if that would be affecting you joining (you and Heerlo seem to be having different problems) but it might pay to retry once dot80 has temporarily kicked sh3ba.

Change in plans, Heerlo has his steam name and is going to contact him that way to make the changes.

You should still try one last time kobo1d if you have the chance tonight. I'll keep checking the lobby and will post when the changes are made. Another alternative also, though less optimal, is that you could go to a place with wifi (starbucks, mcdonalds, panera bread, a library) and make your moves in the game there, and just do all the story-writing at home. It would be sort of annoying to do this unless you have something pretty close, just a suggestion. The actual in-game turn taking would only take like 10min a day really. If you stop anywhere for breakfast in the morning, or go out to lunch, then that would be a good time (assuming you have a laptop). I'd understand that this would get super annoying to have to do however, and is an unlikely solution.

Heerlo went ahead and bought Polynesia. So everything should be good now. sh3baproject still needs to change his difficult level though. It wouldn't be game breaking to start with him on prince difficulty, however.

Oh Polynesia. He's most likely going to flee to the New World from the start. That was my plan

Also, do I need to be online at Midnight for it all to work out?
