A soft power opportunity is anything you can use to build your influence without knocking teeth in (hard power). Culture points, economy, corporations, clients, the UN, etc. Soft power is the pivot of MP, and is reinforced by the many penalties attempts to just take everything over will incur.

Catalonia will implode, as is the case with all the other NPC'd nations, which is why next turn will be a lollercoaster due to all the major powers in civil war the world over.

The UN defense secretary has announced that 10 armies and 10 air wings have nestled themselves along the border between Victoria (formerly the Formatting Empire) and Oz. If either state attempts to invade the other, the UNPC has permission to open fire.

As it stands, the resolution to send troops to secure the Katter-Oz border is still in the works, and as such, hostilities in that area shall continue.

By default, neither Victorian or Oz forces will attempt to go through the barrier unless authorised by their commander-in-chiefs. While Katterland can instruct the Victorians to attack as per their treaty, this would run the risk of an international war, as it would constitute an attack on the Union of Nations, a serious offense indeed.

With the departure of the formatting crew and the most devout of the formaticist leadership, the sudden absence of a government in the newly dubbed Victoria had increased the ties between Victoria and Katterland as the latter relied was increasingly relied upon while a new administration was getting established.

"Send them in"

The delegation entered. They looked similar to average Katterlanders, save they lacked appropriate headgear and spoke with an accent.

"Emperor Katter, we are pleased to make your acquaintance"

"Indeed we are"

"Most certainly, you have been most helpful in assisting Victoria transition from Formatting Crew control into genuine autonomy"

Katter noticed some remnant FC influence in the mannerisms of the delegates. Regardless after talking about matters relating to the war and making insulting remarks about Swahili prostitutes and Bengalese lack of masculinity some talk came up that was of interest to Katter.

"Emperor Katter, you mustk now that Katter worship and Catholicism have increased quite substantially in Victoria after the departure of the Formatting Crew. Many people with the betrayal of ninjacow and the Formatters in leaving us now look to you as a replacement, either following the official religion of Katterland, or being converted by Katterist missionaries from your nation, although we understand they are a small sect here.

"Yes, many people worship you as Lord and Saviour of Victoria from Ozian scum"

"Yes, they pray that you will have mercy on them and protect them from the evils of the world"

Katter didn't trust these emissaries, telling him that the core of the anti-formatic faction in Victorian politics was converts. Afterall as vassals they perhaps feared him enoguh to try and pour praise on him to keep his eyes on helping them. But nethertheless he quickly made up his mind to give the victorians the benefit of the doubt and see how developments will proceed in victorian affairs.
