Multipolarity II - Game Thread

The Louisiana economy is more than large enough to repay debts assuming the experiment does not work.

On that note, analysts have lowered the interest rate to 30%. Still fairly generous. One can simply request money from the WB, loan it to us, and collect an interest payment for no work at all. Louisiana also owns 8 shares of Riccio...

By "What is collateral," I meant "What's stopping you from not paying me back?"

Louisiana:

Louisiana has no interest in making enemies. Louisiana is a neutral country that seeks trade relations with all nations. Louisiana is adamantly non-interventionist; we have not made alliances with either of our idol nations, Somalia or the 501st, as tempting as that would sound on paper.

Never mind, one's honor is a form of currency as well. If we betrayed you, why would anyone want to give us money again in the future?

ooc: I thought Louisiana was supposed to be shady. Guess I was wrong.

IC: Alright, we'll loan you 20g.

Question: Is the -44 in my vault include the money I owe to the UN for the loan, or is it just for the power?

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

GSNnv.jpg

Greetings, comrades! I am Joseph Stalin, Premier of the Great and Glorious Soviet Union! I bring good news for the world.

The USSR has been a bastion of strength and power for many years. We possess the most advanced, well equiped, and highest trained military in the entire world! After much consideration, I have decided to share the People's Army with others!

*drumroll*

I am proud to announce the formation of the Sputnik Paramilitary Organization!

Spoiler :

Sputnik PMC

ZM1Ag.jpg

Спутник, [spūt'nyĭk]
Definition: Travelling companion, attendant

The Sputnik PMC is an organization made up of the finest drafted Soviet soldiers. Its purpose is to serve and accompany others in their military ventures, with a fee that comes with such risks. Services vary from assignment to assignment, but one theme remains constant throughout Sputnik's ventures: it is a companion. That being said, it will not fight wars for someone, but it will certainly assist them in defense, offense, or any other matters.

Services:

-Offensive Combat. The Sputnik PMC will allocate a set amount of soldiers to be used in accordance with the military of the requesting nation. Potential losses and number of soldiers hired will factor in the cost.

-Defensive Combat. Soldiers can be allocated to defend a certain region or province from enemy attack. Perhaps you are off fighting a war, and would like a few troops stationed at home for defense from a counterattack, or perhaps you're being overrun and need forces to save your last remaining territories.

-Defensive Insurance. For a set fee each turn, based upon the income of said nation and likeliness of a war breaking out, Sputnik will come to said nation's aid should war break out and they be invaded. The minimum collection time for such insurance is three turns - should defensive insurance be required before the three turn limit, an additional fee will be charged.

-Alternate Services. Any service that requires the use of force, whether it be air, naval, or ground, can be worked out with Sputnik. We are happy to help.

Investments

SPK (Sputnik PMC) will allow anyone to purchase shares of the "corporation". Said investments go into a fund separate from the USSR, and are used to purchase additional units to cover increased business. Naturally with supply and demand, as demand for SPK's services increase, so will need for additional militaries. The share prices will increase, and shareholders will benefit. Naturally, if SPK's services are not required and support wanes, share prices will decrease. 10% of all profits from SPK's ventures go directly into the company shares.

There are currently 25 shares for sale at 10 income each.

Disclaimer: SPK has the right to refuse service to anyone, but a reasonable offer will NEVER be refused. The only exception is that targets for SPK may never be the USSR.

Sorry for this double post.

The Premier paced back and forth.

"I can't believe this is happening! Terrorist bases in Crimea? God damn it, as if we didn't have enough problems already."

The Chief KGB Officer nodded.

"On top of that, the recent tech stealing has left us crippled. Our economy and technologies have leaked to capitalist vermin around the world."

The officer nodded once more.

"What shall we do? Can we support the resources to send spies to take care of the problem?"

Ivan, the KGB Officer, spoke quietly and calmly.

"Great Premier Stalin, I have grave news. Some say there are terrorist bases in the USSR, as well as Crimea. They could mobilize at any moment."

"Damn it! They spread to us like a disease."

After some contemplation, the Premier talked to the officer.

"We can't spare the resources to destroy the bases currently. We'll have to leave them be and deal with them when we are able."

"Wise decision, sir. Remember, we can always request help from the UN to aid in anti-terrorist matters such as this."

"Of course, Ivan."

Later in the Kremlin..

"I demand you return our rightful state! You stole them from us."

The Premier listened with boredom as the President of Mandatum demanded the return of Crimea into terrorist hands.

"You don't understand. We simply cannot give up our new ally to the likes of.. you."

Stalin glanced at the eccentric outfit of the Mandatum officer. They could use a lesson or two in Soviet fashion.

"Please, that is our territory! You scum are thieves! If you don't give it back, we will--"

He was cut off mid sentence by Stalin's hearty laugh.

"HAHAHA!! You'll do what? Any threat to the Soviet Union can be countered by our new KGB divisions. We may not have many spies right now, but there will be countless people who wish to see a known terrorist group eradicated."

The President began to mumble, but was again interrupted-

"And we know exactly where your bases are."

"You have no idea who you're dealing with! MANDATUM WILL HAVE ITS DAY! YOUR ALLIES ARE IN YOUR HEAD! THE WORLD WILL HAVE YOUR ROASTED!" (taken from actual conversation)

The Premier yawned, and motioned for two guards to take the President away. His screams and curses were heard throughout the Kremlin's halls.

"Well Ivan, it appears we know who owns those bases now. The good news is that we can get rid of them if they prove to be a threat."

"Excellent idea, sir."

You forgot to mention the fact you utilised aforementioned terrorist organisation to sow discord in the Union of China, in London in an attempt more generally to increase your power projection generally as part of a collaboration.

Now it seems they've outlived their usefullness to you for whatever reason (presumably the failure to adequately defend Mother Russia from foreign agents), and thus the above statements of yours. Of course terrorists are bad and its good that your finally changing your ways on the matter and desisting from freely tolerating and encouraging terrorist bases in Moskva's sewers, I applaud your decisions to divest yourself of them, but we must not gloss over the Kremlins previous indiscretions can we, part of repentance is acknowledging ones previous mistakes. ;).

Actually, the USSR did not order any discontent to be sown, especially not with the Union of China (Our allies). Why would we sow discontent with our allies?

London collapsed, so any alleged operations against them never occurred (and thus cannot be proven). I suggest you expand your spy network so King Katter does not receive false information.

did I say Chinese Union, I meant Partitionia (prior to your invasion of them later) :p the horrors of a lack of sleep and the fact Im thinking about the Union due to my Empire trolling DP with them unfortunately led to their name being erroneously substituted (not helped by the fact that I recieved information that the same terrorist group convinced the Empire of China to do that whole somali fiasco as well [so many chinas]).

anyways, need to catch a bus, if people don't want to trust me on what I say thats their prerogative. Regardless, I again applaud you for finally ditching Mandatum, its a good decision.

As any sane person would. If you found a parasite leeching away at your precious empire, would you not remove it the moment it was discovered?

I'm just glad I found out where he was in time. He could have done terrible things to me.

Terrible things indeed.

Right, nuclear war best war?

It would be grand indeed. To die by your own sword, RS, would be a great thing. :P

It's obvious that the comment was halfhearted and inquisitive (wouldn't that be grand), but even assuming it's legitimate:

I'm not the only one to threaten nukes (Empire of China), and personally if I have nuclear weapons I can flaunt them if I so desire.

Of course next turn will show whether I go through with such things or not.

Also, it's nigh time you stopped struggling. I've taken all your provinces except one - you're not going to miraculously survive next turn's onslaught. Sorry. It gets tiring to hear you whine, moan, and complain about "The USSR is a war monger", "the USSR is imperialist", "the USSR wants to commit genocide", "the USSR funds terrorists".

I'm beyond the point of caring for empty allegations, and it shall be a joyous day when I can look upon the map and not see the gross pink that used to be Partitionania.

You may think your empty words are doing anything, but you're merely a bleating sheep, being carried off to the slaughter.

You ignored obvious signs of war, and your own ignorance and stubbornness brought your end.

If only you accepted my most generous peace offers (which were made out of pity). Your downright refusal is why Partitionania will not exist for much longer.

Hang on. Let me find the PM.

Hang on. Let me find the PM.

You are not London, you're a corporation. Unless you enjoy getting your profits severely docked from metagaming, I suggest you fit in and do what corporations do.

Any information London had should have died when it collapsed (and lost its bioweapons program).

If I were to die and start a new nation, you wouldn't see me using information from my old nation to stir things up.

Didn't Sone complain about metagaming earlier :mischief:

Didn't Sone complain about metagaming earlier :mischief:

If there's anything I've learned, it's that Sone is the King of hypocrites. "PF is metagaming, waahh wahh".

I mean hell, it's not like he sent his entire funds to Partitionania so they could purchase units.

Certainly not.

You are not London, you're a corporation. Unless you enjoy getting your profits severely docked from metagaming,

OCP clearly has former Londoners working for it.

Unless you prove otherwise, you're clearly metagaming.

It isn't like governments and future corporate interests never have ties.

If you're going to cry about it, by all means, buy a tissue. OCP offers very absorbent tissues at an incredibly low price.

Don't worry. I can cover any damages against Mandatum assets.
