Okay. In light of the world going to utter clusterhell and several key players slowly, steadily dropping out, I've decided to do a poll.
We have 22 players. About half of them are either inactive or under caretaker rule.
I have a plan for MP5 that would basically let me have it as a timeskip from this game, a direct sequel of sorts, and thus that could be the update instead. That would let me drop this, and also avoid the mess of the MASSIVE war that's coming (I really do not want to deal with it).
We'd get a fancy epilogue connecting the two games, and your actions this game would technically still be of impact - they would remain canon (South America would likely be close in the future due to Dem's actions, likely a fair bit of radioactivity in parts of Europe, etc.).
If you join MP5 you'd be able to continue as a nation on par with your current one in terms of overall position and power.
So, yay or nay. 48 hours until these polls close.
Lack of a vote will count as a yes for MP5 because it proves my point.

NAY. This is an abomination, and I for one think a game with a 'no war' rule is absolutely terrible. It takes away not just a potent weapon of diplomacy, but a very entertain ing part of the game, and an integral part of an IOT! Keep MP4!
Yea = I epilogue this game, start MP5; it's got a different structure, but those who played in this game would be able to start off stronger than a fresh start player. Basically I'd be updating this but under a new name and revamped ruleset. One's actions this game also remain canon to the history, so they aren't discredited. Turn 1 of MP5 would be akin to Turn
Abstain = I presume you do not care either way, so count you as having voted yes.
Nay = We update the current game... and I cry because I don't want to deal with the wars.

War Zones
Spoiler:
Siberian Civil War. The Horde has swamped all opposition, crushing 501st forces in the area and relieving the Azeri and Sino-Japanese factions of their weapons. The 501st’s consolation prize is that many of its 1 million refugees (approximately 4% of the Legion’s population) have no intention of returning, fearing suffering or death under the new Siberian Horde’s radical theocratic regime. Unified beneath the Horde for the first time since the war began in 2206, the nation is relieved to finally be able to rebuild after fourteen years of conflict. The returning refugee numbers are as follows: 30,000 from Arstotzka; 100,000 from China-Japan; 100,000 from the Legion; 1,000,000 from the Horde; 70,000 from Azerbaijan; 9,000 from Tayloristan; 30,000 from Kirov, 35,000 from Vladivostok. Of 3.8 million people, 1.374 are going home.
Most experts that moved abroad have become comfortable and are remaining where they are, having settled down. With the death toll in Siberia being over 3 million, such a desire to not return to such a bleak place is understandable.
Canadian Civil War. The Americans have dealt a blow to Syndicate forces.
Midwestern Civil War. A riot has destroyed considerable amounts of American hardware, though there is no evidence indicating the riot was organized by the opposition forces. Despite this setback, the Americans have wiped out the pro-Confederate faction while also dealing a huge blow to Syndicalist forces. With the home front on the verge of collapse, however, any victory in the Plains is liable to be short-lived.
Pennsylvania Civil War. The war has concluded with American victory; while there is still some localized resistance, any major homegrown threat to American control of the region is gone.
Icelandic Curbstomp. The Icelandics use the full weight of their military against the Norwegian nationalist strongholds, indiscriminately slaughtering 100,000 of the Norwegians and losing 5,000 of their own.
Economic News
Spoiler:
Analysts report population numbers to be increasing in importance; it seems consumer goods are becoming more popular than ever before, and a large population is sure to sustain a growing demand base for such, and thus, economic activity.

North America
Spoiler:
Arson. (-5 CSA influence in Puerto Rico)
Escape from the Syndicates. 3,000 prisoners have broken free from Syndicalist prison camps, killing 1,000 Syndicalists on the way out.
Anti-War sentiment in Syndicates. People have taken to the streets in large numbers demanding an end to the war. The most deadly weapon protestors have deployed is refusal to pay taxes, cutting into revenues immensely. With the near-collapse of the New American state, however, such protests will likely get their wish.
South America
Spoiler:
Coup in Venezuela. An anti-Confederate coup has taken control of Venezuela, with over half of the Confederate assets in the country being repossessed; of these about one half have been given to Argentine nationals.
Europe
Spoiler:
Protests in Norway. Some citizens have shown a desire for renewed independence but such views have not caught on much.
The Popular Emperor. Radio stations broadcasting dissent are facing lower than ever listening rates in the French Empire in the wake of victories against the Republic, despite an increase in funding for such from their anonymous backers.
Exposed! Italy’s security forces have earned their keep; as they know the ins nad outs of crime more than anybody, they’ve foiled a massive organized crime operation designed to evaluate and set up black markets for illegal goods and services. Many of these still-illegal services are now operated by police instead.
Africa
Spoiler:
Hate Crimes. Azeri assets and citizens in Egypt have been the target of widespread organized mob violence despite the government’s effort to protect such valuable investors. (-1000 Influence)
Prohibition! Some smugglers in Benin have been caught.
Arson. Morocco and Libya have seen attacks on Azeri businesses. (-10 Influence)
Asia
Spoiler:
Arrests. A small group of subversives have been arrested in the 501st.
Stock Hiccups. While there was some minor panic selling in Azerbaijan, the blow to the nation’s economy was marginalized by bulls. (-1 Infra)
Terrorism! Some radicals have detonated a bomb at a major Azeri-owned marketplace in Arabia. (-5 Influence)
Death Worm Attacks! A swarm of death worms have been reported across the 501st Legion. As such worms are Mongolian in origin, one is not sure how they got to the Legions’ land without foreign assistance. The amount of deaths has reached an estimated 200,000 people. While only little more than 1% of the population, it is still an enormous tragedy to the 501st.
Mass Boycott. Many Omani citizens have refused to buy Azeri-made or owned products and services, causing a good deal of Azeri business ventures in the country to fail. (-400 Influence)
Oceania
Spoiler:
Ascension of Spartacus. The Confederacy of the Spartacan Islands has inherited much of the clout of the former Jakartese Court, but the region still remains open-ended in terms of its eventual political alliances.
Recommendations:
-Espionage is a good tool to rein in NGOs. NGOs derive their income from their percentage of a host country’s total espionage value, similar to how countries earn client income. A good way to bury them is to invest in espionage in a country; even if you don’t root them out through counterintel you can still hurt them greatly in this manner.
-There’s a “profitability” measure on the Influence sheet. The higher the number, the more cost-effective it is to invest in that country. You will notice the most active investors are also the richest nations…
-Investing in countries with a high exchange rate can be lucrative: they invest their money in their infrastructure and thus can experience massive growth.
-Participate in the UN. Even abstention votes will still generate some influence points; proposing resolutions and succeeding in getting them passed net the most points.
-It is a good idea to sign Exclusive Investment Agreements with your clients to keep competition out.
-Invest espionage in countries you have influence in; this will help keep you safe from predatory attempts to purge your influence.
Tani said I have 11 k income and crap for the rest, so i put 7 k as reward for destroying cyprus and the rest as reward for destroying my nation.
I am Transylvania btw.
King Andreas is in a bad mood. Bosnia, Transylvania and Iceland are at war against Cyprus. none of then have a good reason. it is a blatant war of aggression, and we will not make it easy for them.
the Navy will intercept an destroy the enemy, or it gets destroyed. they will fight to the last man, inflicting as much damage as they can, for the Honor of Cyprus, and the slim chance that they will win.
the Army will meet the enemy at the beaches, and fight there, all thje way to the capital, whereupon the enemy will have to destroy every. single. solider, before they can occupy the island.
Antioch, our only ally, will support the Cypriot Fleet and Army. hopefully, their numbers will tip the scales in our favor.
history will never forget the honor or the bravery of the Cypriot people against three evil nations!
Because of the state of impossible war, all taxes are abolished.
transylvania sends an illiterate farmer with a Transylvanian flag and a rotting chicken to Cyprus.
The plan is to plant the chicken inside the country and hope it has a disease that will spread and decimate Cyprus. If it doesn't, well, we just lost some good roasted chicken.

I'm torn on MP5. I'd like to see the new game, but I'd like to start fresh as a new nation I've been preparing for the game. I could take the place of Britain in the game, if that would be allowed.

Ruler of transylvania: WTH, something smells good! Who took a bath?
other people: Bath? HERESY! IMPOSSIBRU! KILL IT BEFORE IT DIES! GERM-GENOCIDE!
Curious bozo: I have found this suitcase, has stamps from Cyprus on it. It is the source of the smell. My radioactivity sensor indicates that it's twenty times the legal limit of radioactivity. That's almost a million times lower than our own smell!
Ruler of Transylvania: we cannot allow such a lower-tier smell destroy our stinkiness. Send the case back to Cyprus.

I wouldn't mind MP V starting, but damn it I still think there is steam left in this game. So I have to vote nay. If you REALLY don't want to deal with the wars, wouldn't it be simpler to have Romaina's trollquit leadership to collapse and New America to unconditionally surrender? That would reduce the wars by quite a bit...
