Would you be interested in selling the Maluku Islands to us? It's location near our borders makes it an interest to national security for us to have control over it.
I consulted with Lighthearter, his brother, about if he's been busy or not yesterday evening. It didn't seem so, so I presume between that and the Civil War posts that he's not particularly interested.
Prime Minister Sati Remington of the United Empire of Great Britain and Ireland has officially announced the Remington Doctrine of foreign policy. The United Empire will remain neutral in world affairs, preferring to avoid squabbles.
However, there is an exception to this rule: if a state decides to intrude on Namibia, France, Rhineland, Tamil, Brunei or New Guinea. As the “Key Six” of British foreign policy, these states hold great strategic importance to imperial interests. If a state decides it’s a good idea to try and get involved in these regions, the reaction will be “swift and decisive.”
PM Remington thus cautions against opportunism, such as that often shown by the Syndicates or Azeris. While Britain considers itself friendly towards most other countries, intruding on its sphere (which Remington has stated there is no desire in expanding beyond) will quickly make the country irate.
Bosnia has declared war on Cyprus. Italy, Greece and Constantinople have sent supporting forces.
Though the Cypriots seem hopelessly outgunned, Antioch has sent forces to assist. The Ionians follow Antioch into battle. It is deemed by the Greek participants as a civil war – two Greek factions fight for the Bosnians while two fight for the Antiochese.
200,000 Bosnians are supported by 1,000 Constantinopolitans, 5,000 Greeks, and 10,000 Italians.
210,000 Antiochs are supported by 6,000 Ionians and 32,000 Cypriots.
The Bosnians are decisively routed, with the hundred battles around the Mediterranean stacked against them by a margin of almost four to one. The Adriatic, Aegean and Ionian Seas are all prowled by the Antiochan and allied fleets, strangling Bosnia’s heartland of its trade revenues.
The Republican French sally out with 379,000 men at sea against the Imperial 418,000. As with last time, the Imperials have aid in the form of 50,000 British sailors.
The Republicans fight valiantly but cannot break the blockade on Marseilles or Brest.
Losses:
32,000 Imperials; 3,000 British
226,000 Republican French
Battle of France – Land
Barely able to feed their troops, the Republican French can see the end is near, but are determined to make sure democracy in France does not die without a fight.
627,000 Imperials attack 389,000 Republicans.
Losses:
100,000 Republicans; 35,000 captured
45,000 Imperials
Brest and Provence taken by Empire
400,000 French civilians killed
The rogue state that seized control of Transylvania has declared war on nations far and wide, but most especially Bosnia. Bosnia dispatches an army of 150,000 to rein in the ruffians, supported by 40,000 Italians, 35,000 Bohemians, and 25,000 Swiss. They confront 80,000 Transylvanians.
It goes without saying the battle is fairly lopsided. While the Transylvanian Army is well-trained, it is still broken and battered. The new regimes thirteen months are ended with the restoration of the prior government at the loss of 50,000 Bosnian troops. In a last act of insanity the Transylvania forces exterminate about one million of their own people.
Ailed, Sone, and Arya, you will receive your incomes shortly.
There is a “vault” column for those of you who qualified for the bonus last turn.
Troop stationing is automatically agreed to or rejected; it is generally impossible to station a large sum of troops all in one turn. You will gradually work your way up as the host becomes more warm towards them.
EITs operate at a rate of 100% instead of 50% now to make them more useful.
I included total troops and money on those who are using Google docs to make orders a bit easier to do.
Finally, I will be leaving town on the 8th so will be voiding a lot of the update's provisions beyond spending and espiongae. Orders lock in 72 hours.
The passage of the First Amendment to the Union Charter has seen the International Court of Justice Council’s formation; it has duly appointed four candidates to fill the vacancies, which have existed since 2209, 2211, 2215, and 2218.
Judge Justus Gotti of Rhineland has passed away at the age 68, after only a few months of service. Should the Secretary fail to nominate a replacement, the ICJC will appoint one.
Office of the Union of Nations General Secretary
Jonathan Mays of the Combined Syndicates of America
It is the final biennium of the Mays administration. As with the Smirnov administration that preceded it, the administration is considered a colossal disappointment for the cause of a stronger UN that is more effective at preserving peace and human rights. The Mays administration has faced considerable criticism since delegating its responsibilities to the Bosnian Delegate; Bosnia started a war over weapons even when there was contradicting intelligence from the Union itself.
Occupation Zones. -3000 Bosnians; -6000 Antiochans; -28000 Imperial French
The end of the Second American War has seen 150,000 Syndicalists return home from the Confederacy; 50,000 remained behind, preferring capitalism.
Protests in Antioch have demanded that land occupation not become policy, and that the victory at sea be pressed for concessions so as to ensure a swift, profitable peace. Should the war continue, protests might not be so generous.

Britain has pledged that it will assist in giving an asswhooping to the rebels per the implications of the Remington Doctrine; the Imperial Army has been getting lazy due to lack of duties besides guarding newborn infants anyway.

Recommendations:
-Espionage is a good tool to rein in NGOs. NGOs derive their income from their percentage of a host country’s total espionage value, similar to how countries earn client income. A good way to bury them is to invest in espionage in a country; even if you don’t root them out through counterintel you can still hurt them greatly in this manner.
-There’s a “profitability” measure on the Influence sheet. The higher the number, the more cost-effective it is to invest in that country. You will notice the most active investors are also the richest nations…
-Investing in countries with a high exchange rate can be lucrative: they invest their money in their infrastructure and thus can experience massive growth.
-Participate in the UN. Even abstention votes will still generate some influence points; proposing resolutions and succeeding in getting them passed net the most points.
-It is a good idea to sign Exclusive Investment Agreements with your clients to keep competition out – to get past an EIT a person must invest 100% of the highest investment in the country.
-Invest espionage in countries you have influence in; this will help keep you safe from predatory attempts to purge your influence.

As you all know, I, the Floating Head of Bernardo Elephantguzzle Rex, speak for the entire Council of Mages, because otherwise nothing would ever get done around here, but honestly, we're actually unanimous in something for once. The continuation of the war is entirely up to Bosnia at this point, and they'd be suicidal not to negotiate at this exact same point.
So calm your tits, you lucky bastards. I'm just a floating head, I don't even HAVE tits. What are you all complaining about?
Borked Spaiz. Antioch has foiled an attempt by Spartacus forces to infiltrate the Mage’s Government.
If Spartacus can't tell the difference between indentured servants and slaves, then I can't tell the difference between a liberator of the oppressed etc and some egomaniacal douchenozzle trying to screw over everyone who has it better than him.
The Red Destiny, as a way to encourage opposition to Spartacus and as a way to invest money into economies that need it, hereby offer $1,000 per dead Spartacus agent, soldier, police officer, or other Spartacus related official. If they are brought to us alive to be enslaved, we shall provide $10,000. For the leader of the agency/country, we offer $1,000,000. Should the Spartacus government be overthrown, we offer to invest $100,000,000 into the local economy as well as military and espionage protection by us, or if invaded and toppled by another country, twice that amount to be gifted to the government that did the deed.
This bounty works for individuals and nations. It is easy money, and we highly encourage the world to take advantage of it.
