Has anybody flagged this on the various social media platforms, and tagged the composers? I'm not on Twitter, and all I can see on the FB page is complaints from console players about not being able to get the LP. Maybe if the composers knew all their work is basically for nothing, there might be some movement on a fix?
There is "civ-specific music" but no tracks play inbetween
So it plays music:
- In the main Menu
- On the Leader Screen
- The initial music (your theme)
- And sometimes i hear when a new era dawns where the music evolves (Medieval, Industrial, Atomic).
But it only plays one track.
It also plays when switching players in Hotseat (because it switches to their music).
Yeah, I recently encountered this issue, too. After they added the last Leader Pass pack, the first game I started was fine. The second game I started will only play my civ's theme once, right after I log in, and then no music except on diplomacy screens thereafter. It sucks. I tried reporting it, but also got the same messages you mentioned.
Yeah it seems as though the music returns for 1 track when your civ's theme evolves with a new era, but after that it stops again. Surely Firaxis has to address this issue, because it's something the majority of players will notice.

I am after 4 iterations with 2K support about the music bug. Those guys do everything in their power to delay the process. They require tons of info and proofs. All of course under a false pretense that it would help solve it. In general this is true, but here is just ridiculous and absolutely stupid.
I see this is a common experience then of 2K Support.
TBH I'm glad
Unrelated to Civ though, I posted feedback on 2K Support for Marvel's Midnight Suns.
In their just released Morbius DLC, there is unscripted Abbey dialogue (while you're exploring) where he asks "What's it like to have a tan?". Not appropriate when you (the player) are black
They close my ticket saying I had opened "another ticket" for Morbius (I had previously posted a bug report about Morbius Steam achievements not unlocking).
I reply asking not to close the ticket saying they are two separate issues. One's a bug; the other feedback.
"Onur" replies saying that's how they manage tickets at 2K! lolwut
Then he asks me to take a video, so that he can forward the feedback to Firaxis.
They paid a voice actor to say the line, so there must be some record of it FFS
It felt like they were blowin me off.
So it is a relief all of you are also experiencing the same with 2K Support.
I actually had to go to the Peaches Lamb YouTube playlist of all the music in the game and have that running in the background because the silence and wind sounds (which were not helping! ) were too barren.
Instead of posting same phrase/sentance/complain daily on a forum around people that have the exact same issue, let me suggest creating a new ticket about it on 2k support. Daily off course.
I do think both of these methods have merit, in addition to bringing this issue to light on these forums (which Firaxis looks at).
Spam 2K'S horrible support with repeated requests AND bring it up in the Carl vs. Ed livestream! See how many people can get themselves banned!
We can probably coordinate enough people to have the stream chat be nothing but grievances bug reports!
After all, the best way to get something you want is to be persistent and annoying about it!

I did with natural disaster graphic bug way back in 2021 April. And you know what happened?
IT TOOK LAST YEAR 2022 for them to fix it. And only because of Leader Pass.
So I lost all faith in 2k support and I do believe it's where complaints like this goes to die.
Just a reminder, they rarely ever hotfix. And still, within hours of release they removed lines in Yongle's intro because it displeased some groups of people using a previously mentioned hotfix.
And who knows how long we are going to deal with this bug that's been in the game for just under two weeks. And this is a bug that is very, very important and would 100% need to be fixed ASAP. It literally removes one of the core components of the gameplay experience.
If these are the priorities they certainly dropped the ball.
I've also reported this to 2k and had strange ineffectual responses from their support team before they closed the ticket. For now, I'm just using the extracted music on random when I play.
Well, I'm almost at 5K hours but there is no way I am crossing that threshold without the music working as it should. In the last week I have only played cloud turns in MP games. Without this bug I would have already busted through that significant milestone
Weird, I was very "heartbroken" when they did the last Livestream and didn't touch on subjects as consoles, fixes, etc. but with the new Livestream this week I'm ready to be disappointed again. /j
Actually, I think they will update the game before the Livestream or will be very cringe watching they playing a "mute" game lol
The peak of insolence... They said that teams had been notified. So, I am waiting patiently for the fix. And here comes: We just wanted to remind you that it's been six days since we replied to your support ticket, and we haven't heard back from you. If we don't hear back within 24 hours, your ticket will automatically be marked as solved
