I think you mean "Eugenic", rather than "Eugenical". Perhaps "Sporadic" would be better than "Vague"?

Eugenical: of, relating to, or improved by eugenics.
A social structure where your genes is the deciding factor of your position in society could be called an eugenical society, can't it?

Sporadic rule would fit the first one (None/No rule) better imo.
The ruling class is vaguely defined compared to, the ruling class is sporadic/shifting; I'm really not sure, it's a though one.

Vague states that there is a ruling class but it is complex and hard to define.
Can sporadic state the same or would it rather imply that rule it is not really defined.
 
The adjective you’re looking for is still just “eugenic”. English is funny that way. :)

What's hidden about it? The effect is documented.

The "+1 science" bit is listed, yes, but it doesn't actually tell you how much science you're getting due to your workshops and therefore doesn't tell you whether the opportunity cost of the tech is worth it or not.

It applies to the building, not the improvements. So when it says +1 from the Stone Tools Workshop, it means +1 if you have the Stone Tools Workshop.

Should I split up the MILITARY civic Technological into Unmanned and Superhuman/Cloning? Or should technological just take both of those concepts into consideration?


Missile lab has been set to require militarized border atm, was pacifism. This has not been properly evaluated though; perhaps it shouldn't require a civic at all.

To me that's a good idea. There will be those who violently disagree, so I recommend including a third civic option of 'both' (eg. Techno-Utilitarian :mischief:).

So is this the "Caveman2Chunnel" mod? :p

I take your point, but the Transhuman Era is already playable I believe, and this being the case, I believe there could be significant numbers playing it in the not too distant future.
 
Looks like we may need to figure out how to give everyone in save games a one turn golden age so that they can change all their civics:lol:.
 
My Take on civics v0.1 - Reboot
Since I'm taking a two weeks mountain vacation, and have exams a week after that I thought I might as well release the highly unfinished reimagining of the civic concept.

I've only had time to add proper content to the 2 earliest civic options of each category. the rest is a mess atm.

Hope I managed to include all the modified files; do tell me if there are XML errors on launch.

NOTE:
Tested on SVN rev. 8604; there might be an xml error from steampunk change in SVN 8609.
 
I am rather interested in seeing what you've done here, but you've changed *so* much, I don't really want to disrupt my own rather delicate adjustments to the mod. :p

Civics reach into many xml's; even into the unit xml, which is the reason why I included "my take on promotions - extended" in this reboot edition. If I hadn't, those two modmods would have been incompatible; I might figure out a way to separate them when I have time.
